One of the most common problems in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) is the delamination and thus the degradation of electrode/electrolyte interface which occurs in the consequences of the stresses generated within the different layers of the cell. Nowadays, the modeling of this problem under certain conditions is one of the main issues for the researchers. The structural and thermo-physical properties of the cell materials (i.e. porosity, density, Young's modulus etc.) are usually assumed to be homogenous in the mathematical modeling of solid oxide fuel cells at macro-scale. However, during the real operation, the stresses created in the multiphase porous layers might be very different than those at macro-scale. Therefore, micro-level modeling is required for an accurate estimation of the real stresses and the performance of SOFCs. This study presents a microstructural characterization and a finite element analysis of the delamination and the degradation of porous solid oxide fuel cell anode and electrode/electrolyte interface under various operating temperatures, compressing forces and material compositions by using the synthetically generated microstructures. A multi physics computational package (COMSOL) is employed to calculate the Von Misses stresses in the anode microstructures. The maximum thermal stress in the electrode/electrolyte interface and three phase boundaries is found to exceed the yield strength at 900 °C while 800 °C is estimated as a critical temperature for the delamination and micro cracks due to thermal stress generated. The thermal stress decreases in the grain boundaries with increasing content of one of the phases (either Ni or YSZ) and the porosity of the electrode. A clamping load higher than 5 kg cm−2 is also found to exceed the shear stress limit.  相似文献

Optimum performance of an endoreversible heat engine‐driven heat pump cycle, based on a combination of an absorption cycle with a vapour and ejector compression cycles is investigated. This combination increases the performance of the conventional ejector and absorption cycles and provides high performance for heating. The analysis show that the combined heat pump cycle has a significant increase in system performance over the heat engine‐driven vapour compression or absorption heat pump cycle and heat engine‐driven combined vapour compression and absorption heat pump cycle. Adhesive bond strength of solid wood plays a key role in the efficient use of wood in a large number of engineering applications. In this study, the effects of amount of adhesive, pressing pressure, and pressing time on bonding strength of beech wood bonded with polyvinyl acetate adhesive were investigated and predicted by developing an artificial neural network (ANN) model. Experimental results have showed that bonding strength of wood samples increased generally by increasing amount of adhesive, pressing pressure, and pressing time. Besides, ANN analysis has yielded highly satisfactory results. The designed neural network model allows predicting the bonding strength of wood samples with mean absolute percentage error of 2.454% and correlation coefficient of 97.8% for testing phase. It is clear from the results that the model has a good learning and generalization ability. This model therefore can be used to predict bonding strength of beech samples bonded with polyvinyl acetate adhesive under given conditions. Consequently, this study provides beneficial insights for practitioners in terms of the safe and efficient use of wood as an engineering material in applications related to the strength of the bond between wood and adhesive.  相似文献

Sixty three patients with endemic fluorosis (36 males/27 females; mean age 33.9 ± 8.6 years) and 45 age, sex and body mass index (BMI) matched healthy controls (30 males/15 females; mean age 32.7 ± 8.8 years) were included in this study. Basic echocardiographic measurements, left ventricular diastolic parameters and left ventricular myocardial performance index (MPI) were measured. The left ventricular MPI was calculated as (isovolumic contraction time + isovolumic relaxation time) / aortic ejection time by Doppler. The urine fluoride levels of fluorosis patients were significantly higher than control subjects as expected (1.9 ± 0.1 mg/l vs 0.4 ± 0.1 mg/l respectively; P < 0.001). Isovolumic relaxation time (IVRT) and deceleration time (DT) were significantly higher in fluorosis patients than in controls (for IVRT 106.9 ± 15.6 ms vs 96.7 ± 12.2 ms; P < 0.001 and for DT 211.7 ± 30.7 ms vs 188.0 ± 30.0 ms; P < 0.001, respectively). MPI was significantly higher in fluorosis patients than in controls (0.62 ± 0.15 ms vs 0.49 ± 0.10 ms; P < 0.001, respectively). We have shown that chronic fluorosis patients had left ventricular diastolic and global dysfunctions.  相似文献

In this study, various tape cast NiO/YSZ anode support layers with similar geometric properties are fabricated by varying the doctor blade from 100?µm to 200?µm with an increment of 25?µm. The mechanical properties of the anode support layers are investigated by three point bending tests of 30 samples for each doctor blade gap. The reliability curves of the flexural strength data are also obtained via two-parameter Weibull distribution method. The effects of the doctor blade gap on the microstructure and the electrochemical performance of the anode support layers are determined via SEM investigations and single cell performance-impedance tests, respectively. The apparent porosities of the samples are also measured by Archimedes’ principle. The results indicate that the doctor blade gap or the resultant tape thickness influences the microstructure of tape cast NiO/YSZ anode supports significantly, yielding different mechanical and electrochemical characteristics. At a reliability level of 70%, the highest flexural strength of 110.20?MPa is obtained from the anode support layer with a doctor blade gap of 175?µm and the 16?cm2 active area cell with this anode support layer also exhibits the highest peak performance of 0.483?W/cm2 at an operating temperature of 800?°C. Thus, a doctor blade gap of 175?µm is found to have such a microstructure that provides not only better mechanical strength but also higher electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Average effective moisture diffusivities for both the whole- and cut-rosehips were obtained during convective drying. The effects of process variables such as air temperature, air velocity and air absolute humidity on effective moisture diffusivity were studied. The average effective moisture diffusivity in rosehip ranged between 1.45 × 10?10 and 10.3 × 10?10 m2/s for whole-rosehip and between 1.44 × 10?9 and 5.13 × 10?9 m2/s for cut-rosehip at the temperatures studied. Activation energies for convective drying were found to be 62 kJ/mol for whole-rosehips and 58 kJ/mol for cut-rosehips.  相似文献

When an orthogonal projection is to be computed using data acquired by distributed sensors, it is often necessary to process each sensor's data locally and then transmit the results to a central facility for final processing. The most efficient way to do this is to compute oblique projections locally. This choice makes the final processing a matter of summing the oblique projections. In this paper we derive new formulas, and iterative algorithms and associated error bounds, for oblique projections in arbitrary Hilbert spaces. GAP is an integrated multisectoral development project implemented in south-east Turkey, which makes up 9.7% of the country. With its technical, economic and social dimensions, it is considered in western circles as one of the three to nine wonders of the modern world. As distinct from earlier projects implemented in Turkey (e.g. the Cukurova Plain project) and elsewhere in the world, the main objective of GAP is to improve the living conditions of the people not merely by developing the material infrastructure but by taking the people as the core factor in every component of the project. The sustainability of such projects, it is well realized, depends on the human dimension, and not on success in the achievement of the material goals alone. Within this framework, several sociological research studies were conducted in the region to determine the appropriate approach in making the people a vital component of GAP and in bringing them to participate in the project voluntarily. This article first gives a historical account of nomadic, i.e., 'tribal' (or ashiret ) aspects of Anatolian history, without which neither the past nor the present of Turkey can be adequately understood . 1 It then proceeds to summarize the findings, regarding the 'tribal' structure in the region, of the several research studies carried out in the region between 1992 and 1994 .  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the capture effect through experiments conducted with Iris nodes equipped with AT86RF230 radio transceivers. It is shown that the first arriving packet in a collision can capture the radio channel for equal power transmissions and may be decoded depending on the amount of overlap. A new 3‐packet‐capture scenario is introduced and implemented. To be able to understand the impact of capture on the throughput performance of wireless sensor networks, we present an analysis of the capture coefficient using our practical results. For real‐world implementations, the throughput of pure ALOHA considering a finite number of users is presented in analytical form. The capture coefficient is then applied to pure ALOHA as a case study. Using analytical and practical implementations of the capture effect on ALOHA, a very good match in channel throughput performance enhancement is demonstrated over the non‐capture effect case. TinyOS‐2.x is used to program the nodes and to observe data exchange on a computer through a base station.  相似文献

Metal–insulator–semiconductor Schottky diodes were fabricated to investigate the tunnel effect and the dominant carrier transport mechanism by using current density–voltage (J–V) and capacitance–voltage (C–V) measurements in the temperature range of 295–370?K. The slope of the ln?J–V curves was almost constant value over the nearly four decades of current and the forward bias current density J is found to be proportional to Jo (T) exp(AV). The values of Nss estimated from J–V and C–V measurements decreased with increasing temperature. The temperature dependence of the barrier heights obtained from forward bias J–V was found to be entirely different than that from the reverse bias C–V characteristics. All these behaviours confirmed that the prepared samples have a tunnel effect and the current transport mechanism in the temperature range of 295–370?K was predominated by a trap-assisted multi-step tunnelling, although the Si wafer has low doping concentration and the measurements were made at moderate temperature.  相似文献
