A one-dimensional steady state model has been developed for the combustion reactor of a dual fluidized bed biomass steam gasification system. The combustion reactor is operated as fast fluidized bed (riser) with staged air introduction (bottom, primary and secondary air). The main fuel i.e., residual biomass char (from the gasifier), is introduced together with the circulating bed material at the bottom of the riser. The riser is divided into two zones: bottom zone (modelled according to modified two phase theory) and upper zone (modelled with core-annulus approach). The model consists of sub-model for bed hydrodynamic, conversion and conservation. Biomass char is assumed to be a homogeneous matrix of C, H and O and is modelled as partially volatile fuel. The exit gas composition and the temperature profile predicted by the model are in good agreement with the measured value.  相似文献

Non-linear optimization models have been recently proposed to derive crisp weights from fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices. In this paper, a TLBO (Teaching Learning Based Optimization) based solution is presented for solving an optimization model as a system of non-linear equations to derive crisp weights from fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices in AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). This fuzzy-AHP method is named as TLBO-1. It has been found that TLBO-1 can lead to inconsistent or less consistent weights. To solve the problem of inconsistent weights, a new constrained non-linear optimization model is proposed in this paper. This model is based on the min-max approach for fuzzy pairwise comparison ratios of weights. TLBO is again used to solve this optimization model, and crisp weights are derived. This fuzzy AHP method is named as TLBO-2. The effectiveness of the proposed model is illustrated by three examples. For each example, the consistency of the derived crisp weights is compared with other optimization models. The results show that the TLBO-2 method can derive more consistent weights for the fuzzy AHP based Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) systems as compared to the other optimization models.  相似文献

Earlier investigators have numerically carried out performance analysis of the invert trap fitted in an open channel using the stochastic discrete phase model(DPM) by assuming the open channel flow to be closed conduit flow under pressure and assuming zero shear stress at the top wall.This is known as the fixed lid model.By assuming the top wall to be a shear free wall,they have been able to show that the velocity distribution looks similar to that of an open channel flow with zero velocity at the bottom and maximum velocity at the top,representing the free water surface,but no information has been provided for the pressure at the free water surface.Because of this assumption,the validation of the model in predicting the trap efficiency has performed significantly poorly.In addition,the free water surface subject to zero gauge pressure cannot be modeled using the fixed lid model because there is no provision of extra space in the form of air space for the fluctuating part of the water surface profile.It can.however,be modeled using the volume of fluid(VOF) model because the VOF model is the appropriate model for open channel or free surface flow.Therefore,in the present study,three-dimensional(3D) computational fluid dynamics(CFD) modeling with the VOF model,which considers open channel flow with a free water surface,along with the stochastic DPM.was used to model the trap efficiency of an invert trap fitted in an open rectangular channel.The governing mathematical flow equations of the VOF model were solved using the ANSYS Fluent 14.0 software,reproducing the experimental conditions exactly.The results show that the 3D CFD predictions using the VOF model closely fit the experimental data for glass bead particles.  相似文献

The electrochemical treatment (ECT) of textile wastewater was carried out in a 1.5 dm3 electrolyte batch reactor using iron electrodes. With the four plate configurations, a current density (CD) of 89.2 A/m2 and a pH value of 8.5 were found to be optimal, at which maximum reduction in chemical oxygen demand (COD) and colour achieved were 86% and 79%, respectively. Loss of 0.0666 kg/m3 iron electrode and 18.44 kWh/m3 power consumption was observed during ECT with a maximum COD reduction of 79%. The settling characteristics of electrochemically treated effluents as well as the characteristics of foam and residue were also analysed.  相似文献

An alkaline thermotolerant bacterial lipase of Bacillus coagulans MTCC‐6375 was purified and immobilized on a methacrylic acid and dodecyl methacrylate (MAc‐DMA) hydrogel. The lipase was optimally bound to the matrix after 20 min of incubation at 55°C and pH 9 under shaking conditions. The matrix‐bound lipase retained approximately 50% of its initial activity at 70–80°C after 3 h of incubation. The immobilized lipase was highly active on medium chain length p‐nitrophenyl acyl ester (C: 8, p‐nitrophenyl caprylate) than other p‐nitrophenyl acyl esters. The presence of Fe3+, NH4+, K+, and Zn2+ ions at 1 mM concentration in the reaction mixture resulted in a profound increase in the activity of immobilized lipase. Most of the detergents partially reduced the activity of the immobilized lipase. The immobilized lipase performed ~62% conversion in 12 h at temperature 55°C. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Quaternary alkaline earth zinc‐phosphate glasses in molar composition (40 ? x)ZnO – 35P2O5 – 20RO – 5TiO2xEu2O3 (where x=1 and R=Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba) were prepared by melt quenching technique. These glasses were studied with respect to their thermal, structural, and photoluminescent properties. The maximum value of the glass transition temperature (Tg) was observed for BaO network modifier mixed glass and minimum was observed for MgO network modifier glass. All the glasses were found to be amorphous in nature. The FT‐IR suggested the glasses to be in pyrophosphate structure, which matches with the theoretical estimation of O/P atomic ratio and the maximum depolymerization was observed for glass mixed with BaO network modifier. The intense emission peak was observed at 613 nm (5D07F2) under excitation of 392 nm, which matches well with excitation of commercial n‐UV LED chips. The highest emission intensity and quantum efficiency was observed for the glass mixed with BaO network modifier. Based on these results, another set of glass samples was prepared with molar composition (40 ? x)ZnO – 35P2O5 – 20BaO – 5TiO2xEu2O3 (x=3, 5, 7, and 9) to investigate the optimized emission intensity in these glasses. The glasses exhibited crystalline features along with amorphous nature and a drastic variation in asymmetric ratio at higher concentration (7 and 9 mol%) of Eu2O3. The color of emission also shifted from red to reddish orange with increase in the concentration of Eu2O3. These glasses are potential candidates to use as a red photoluminsecent component in the field of solid‐state lighting devices.  相似文献

Invert traps have been successfully used to collect sediments at convenient locations within the sewer network, where large volumes of solids can be stored. In the present study, experiments have been performed in 15 cm wide and 5 m long channel for the measurement of retention ratios of five different invert trap configurations (namely, rectangular, trapezoidal with one side vertical, trapezoidal, trapezoidal with rectangular base, rectangular with trapezoidal base) having top width of 32 cm and depth of 28 cm with slots of three different sizes (namely, 5, 9 and 15 cm) for the flow of seven different sediment types (namely, two types of sand, glass beads and four types of plastic beads) at different flow rates for each trap. The flow rates selected in present study cover entire range of flow rate expected in channels during dry weather flow and monsoon. Flow field and retention ratio predictions for each invert trap configuration have been carried out using CFD modeling with the help of FLUENT software using Renormalization Group (RNG) k–ε along with Discrete Phase Model (DPM). The simulation results are capable of showing particle trajectories, the effect of flow rate and trap geometry on the flow patterns, developed within the trap. Based on CFD modeling and experimental measurements, it is concluded that the invert trap having rectangular shape with trapezoidal base is the most efficient trap configuration with highest sediment retention ratio.  相似文献
