This paper proposes an adaptive Wiener filtering method for speech enhancement. This method depends on the adaptation of the filter transfer function from sample to sample based on the speech signal statistics; the local mean and the local variance. It is implemented in the time domain rather than in the frequency domain to accommodate for the time-varying nature of the speech signals. The proposed method is compared to the traditional frequency-domain Wiener filtering, spectral subtraction and wavelet denoising methods using different speech quality metrics. The simulation results reveal the superiority of the proposed Wiener filtering method in the case of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) as well as colored noise.  相似文献

This paper investigates the Range-Doppler Algorithm based on the Fractional Fourier Transform (RDA-FrFT) to obtain High-Resolution (HR) images for targets in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging. A mathematical framework for the RDA-FrFT is developed in this paper with closed-form expressions for the range and azimuth compression. The channel effect is considered in this paper for the first time with three inverse techniques to reduce this effect; inverse filter deconvolution, Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) deconvolution, and regularized deconvolution. The performance of the RDA-FrFT is compared with the classical RDA, which is based on the Fourier Transform (FT). Simulation results reveal that the RDA-FrFT offers better focusing capabilities and greater side-lobe reduction ratios. The reflectivity profile obtained with the RDA-FrFT demonstrates a superior performance to the classical RDA. Results show also that the RDA-FrFT gives low Peak Side-Lobe (PSL) and Integrated Side-Lobe (ISL) levels after range and azimuth compression for the detected targets. Finally, the results reveal that the proposed regularized deconvolution technique enhances the performance of the RDA-FrFT significantly if the channel effect is considered.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple and efficient multiple access interference (MAI) cancelation technique in optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) system. The proposed technique is based on hybrid frequency shift keying (FSK) with an enhanced modified prime code as a signature sequence for coding techniques. Coherent FSK modulation along with incoherent demodulation using Arrayed-Waveguide Grating has been examined in the transceiver structure. In the proposed technique, a reference signal is constructed by using one of the addressed spreading sequences, and MAI cancelation is performed by subtracting the reference signal from the received signal of the desired user. The performance of the proposed FSK-OCDMA system is compared with the performance of the existing pulse position modulation (PPM)–OCDMA system. The simulation results reveal that the bit-error rate performance of the proposed technique is superior to the performance of the pulse position modulation (PPM) technique. Also, the results indicate that the proposed technique is very power efficient, and when the bit rate is constant, the network capacity can be expanded to accommodate a large number of simultaneous active users with low error rate. Moreover, the proposed technique simplifies the hardware of the receiver design.  相似文献

Overcoming periodic blockage of the received signal and the carrier frequency fluctuations caused by rotor blades and Doppler shift, respectively, are considered the most challenging issues in helicopter-satellite communication systems. In this study, we propose an automatic frequency control method based on an adaptive modulation scheme. We employ a hybrid modulation not only depending on quadrature phase shift keying, but also based on binary phase shift keying for accurate cancellation of periodic blockage. On the other hand, we apply a chaotic interleaving scheme with a hybrid modulation scheme in order to achieve a better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in LOS and NLOS environments. Finally, we validate the mathematical analysis of the proposed scheme through simulations. We evaluated the performance of the proposed scheme and performed a comparison with conventional schemes. Our results show that the proposed scheme is significantly capable of reducing the acquisition time and working with various velocities of helicopter blades in addition to providing a better BER performance in shadow fading environments.  相似文献

In this paper, various deterministic models for determining optimal pickup times for air cargo from an airport and delivering it to a local distribution center for a global manufacturer are presented. The arrival times of the flights that can potentially bring air cargo are assumed to be deterministic and known. In addition, the custom clearance time for the air cargo and the traveling time from the airport to the local distribution center are assumed to be deterministic and known. These models are formulated mathematically as linear binary integer programming models without air cargo weight considerations. Deterministic formulations without air cargo weight information are shown to be related to the p-Median problem. The deterministic formulation of air cargo pickup times with air cargo weight consideration is shown to be a nonlinear binary integer programming model. The solutions of these models serve as an initial starting point to solve the stochastic problem with random arrival times of the flights and random custom clearance times and travel times.  相似文献

This paper presents the development of a methodology for microstructure analysis and modeling of hot mix asphalt (HMA). This methodology relies on using effective local material properties and strain gradient theory in the finite element analysis of HMA microstructure. The effective local properties are calculated using an analytical micromechanical model that captures the influence of percent of particles on the microscopic response of HMA. Strain gradient elasticity is used in order to account for the effect of particle size in the finite element analysis. The autocorrelation function and the moving window technique are used to determine the microstructure characteristic length scales that are used in strain gradient elasticity. A number of asphalt mixes with different aggregate types and size distributions are analyzed in this paper.  相似文献

Permanent deformation in hot mix asphalt is caused by a combination of densification (decrease in volume and hence increase in density) and shear deformation. The primary objective of this paper is to develop an elastoviscoplastic model that accounts for the influence of important microstructure properties such as anisotropy and damage on permanent deformation. The model incorporates a yield surface based on the Drucker-Prager function that is modified to capture the influence of stress state on the material response. Also, parameters that reflect the directional distribution of aggregates and damage density in the microstructure are included in this yield surface model. The elastoviscoplastic model is converted into a numerical formulation and is implemented in finite element (FE). The FE model is used in this study to simulate experimental measurements under different confining pressures and strain rates.  相似文献
