We report a demonstration of distributed-feedback (DFB) optical parametric oscillation (OPO) by writing photorefractive gratings in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN). The photorefractive DFB structures were fabricated by illumination of PPLN with UV light through a photomask and by writing of PPLN with UV-light gated interfering laser beams at 532 nm. Evidence of OPO was observed from the spectral narrowing at the 1438.8- and the 619.3-nm signal wavelengths from 1064- and 532-nm-pumped PPLN crystals with the DFB grating periods phase matched to the 4084.5- and 3774-nm idler wavelengths, respectively.  相似文献

The absolute frequencies of rubidium 5S-7S two-photon transitions at 760 nm are measured to an accuracy of 20 kHz with an optical frequency comb based on a mode-locked femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser. The rubidium 5S-7S two-photon transitions are potential candidates for frequency standards and serve as important optical frequency standards for telecommunication applications. The accuracy of the hyperfine constant of the 7S1/2 state is improved by a factor of 5 in comparison with previous results.  相似文献

Using an external-cavity diode laser (ECDL) as the light source, we have observed the spectrum of CO(2) in the 1.5-μm atmospheric window including the (30(0)1)(I) <-- (00(0)0) and (31(1)1)(I) <-- (01(1)0)(I) bands. Good signal-to-noise ratio allowed us to lock the frequency of our ECDL to the absorption line centers. Wavenumber measurements of the transitions with accuracy about 6.6 x 10(-4) cm(-1) are made with the help of a precision wavemeter calibrated to the accurate C(2)H(2) frequency references in the 1.5-μm wavelength region. Molecular constants are obtained by making the least-squares fits of the measured transition wavenumbers. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants are consistent with the previous results using high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy. However, the band centers are different with previous results by several thousandth reciprocal centimeters. Copyright 2001 Academic Press.  相似文献

The main purpose of this article is to investigate the optimal wholesaler's replenishment decisions for deterioration items under two levels of the trade credit policy and two storage facilities in order to reflect the supply chain management situation within the economic order quantity framework. In this study, each of the following assumptions have been made: (1) The own warehouse with limited capacity always is not sufficient to store the order quantity, so that a rented warehouse is needed to store the excess units over the capacity of the own warehouse; (2) The wholesaler always obtains the partial trade credit, which is independent of the order quantity offered by the supplier, but the wholesaler offers the full trade credit to the retailer; (3) The wholesaler must take a loan to pay his or her supplier the partial payment immediately when the order is received and then pay off the loan with the entire revenue. Under these three conditions, the wholesaler can obtain the least costs. Furthermore, this study models the wholesaler's optimal replenishment decisions under the aforementioned conditions in the supply chain management. Two theorems are developed to efficiently determine the optimal replenishment decisions for the wholesaler. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate the theorems that are proven in this study, and the sensitivity analysis with respect to the major parameters in this study is performed. (6R)-5,6,7,8-Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH(4)) is a key cofactor involved in the electron transfer to the P(450) heme of nitric oxide synthase. We calculated the electronic structure of the neutral, cationic, and anionic forms of BH(4) in the gas phase, in solution (both dielectric and explicit water), and in the protein environment using density functional theory (B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p)). Subsequently, we derived the ionization potential (IP) and electron affinity (EA) of the cofactor in these chemical environments. We found that the electronic structure of BH(4) is susceptible to the presence of an external electric field and that conformational changes in the structure of BH(4) alone do not affect its electronic structure significantly. In the gas phase, water, and protein environments neutral BH(4) is the most stable species, while in the dielectric environment the anion becomes the most stable species. The IP of BH(4) in the protein environment is about half of that in the gas phase, and its EA is about 5 times smaller than that in the gas phase. Our results indicate that changes in the external electric field created by moving charged amino acid residues around BH(4) may lead to configurations that have the BH(4) ion as stable as or more stable than the neutral form, thus facilitating the electron transfer.  相似文献

A high performance continuous-wave cavity ringdown spectrometer using a rapidly swept cavity has been applied to investigate weak absorption of CO2 line near 1064 nm. In the experimental setup, offset locking of the Nd:YAG laser to other iodine-stabilized Nd:YAG laser provides a frequency accuracy better than 20 kHz. The ringdown time was obtained by fitting the experimental ringdown data to a theoretically obtained ringdown curve. The absorption coefficient and absolute center wavelength are determined with accuracy better than two orders of magnitude with respect to the previous observations. Our experimental setup yields high performance in a relatively simple, low cost, and compact system that is amenable to chemical analysis of trace gases in medicine, agriculture, industry, and the environment.  相似文献
