This paper shows that waveguides induced by grey screening-photovoltaic solitons are always single mode for all intensity ratios, which are the ratio between the peak intensity of the soliton and the dark irradiance. It finds that the confined energy near the centre of the grey soliton and the propagation constant of the guided mode increase monotonically with increasing intensity ratio. On the other hand, when the soliton greyness increases, the confined energy near the centre of the grey soliton and the propagation constant of the guided mode reduce monotonically. When the bulk photovoltaic effect is neglected for short circuits, these waveguides become waveguides induced by grey screening solitons. When the external bias field is absent, these waveguides become waveguides induced by grey photovoltaic solitons.[第一段] 相似文献

Intermediate Self-similar Solutions of the Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation with an Arbitrary Longitudinal Gain Profile 下载免费PDF全文
We study pulse propagation in a normal-dispersion optical fibre amplifier with an arbitrary longitudinal gain profile by self-similarity techniques. We show the functional form of the development of low-amplitude wings on the parabolic pulse, which are associated with the evolution of an arbitrary input pulse to the asymptotic parabolic pulse solution. It is found that for the increasing gain the amplifier output corresponding to the input Gaussian pulse converges to the asymptotic parabolic pulse solution more quickly than the output obtained with the input hyperbolic secant pulse, whereas for the decreasing gain the input pulse profiles have nearly no effect on the speed of convergence to the parabolic pulse solution. Based on a hybrid genetic algorithm, the bandwidth for distributed multi-pump Raman amplifier (DMRA) is optimized. Optimal results show that signal bandwidth △γ can be evidently broadened by means of increasing the number of pumps, △γ decreases with the increase of Raman gain and with the improvement of flatness property, and the hybrid erbium-doped fibre amplifier and DMRA can availably overcome the weakness of pure DMRA. 相似文献

针对可利用的有限信道波长数对基于单纤连接节点的WDM星形单跳网容量限制问题,本文提出了一种有效的解决方案-波长重用.根据该方案,在信道波长数一定的条件下,至少可使网络所支持的节点数-网络容量扩大一倍;在网络节点数不变时,则可大大减少网络节点的排队时延,缓和网络中各通信节点对数据信道波长使用权的竞争矛盾,使网络吞吐量增加1~3倍,有效地改善网络性能.本文首先论述了该基于单纤连接节点的波长重用WDM星形单跳网结构,接着分析了网络的波长重用特性,进而对所要求的光放大器增益和输出功率进行了计算;最后计算了网络的最大节点数和最大信道波长数. 相似文献

将TEM喇叭天线密封进填充变压器油的尼龙天线罩中,只要合理设计尼龙天线罩外形,使变压器油形成聚焦透镜,不仅能提高天线的功率容量,还能改善其辐射特性。基于变压器油的缩波效应和椭球的几何性质,借助几何光学理论,设计了一款具有聚焦能力的椭球变压器油透镜。变压器油的缩波效应能够增大TEM喇叭天线电尺寸,使TEM喇叭天线的辐射特性得到初步改善,透镜的聚焦能力使天线的定向性得到进一步改善。为了验证理论分析的正确性,另外设计了一款不具有聚焦能力的球状变压器油透镜作为参照,两款透镜天线仿真结果与理论分析吻合。与大气中的TEM喇叭天线相比,椭球变压器油透镜使TEM喇叭天线主波束变窄,远场电压峰峰值提高56.97%,阻抗带宽低频端从0.28GHz扩展到0.2GHz,功率容量达到18.43GW。 相似文献

Exact solutions of Maxwell's equations describing the lightwave
through 3-layer-structured cylindrical waveguide are obtained and
the mode field diameter and nonlinear coefficient of air-core
nanowires (ACNWs) are numerically calculated. The simulation results
show that ACNWs offer some unique optical properties, such as tight
field confining ability and extremely high nonlinearity. At a
certain wavelength and air core radius, we optimize the waveguide
design to maximize the nonlinear coefficient and minimize the mode
field diameter. Our results show that the ACNWs may be powerful
potential tools for novel micro-photonic devices in the near future. 相似文献

Gain spectra and corresponding optical signM-to-noise ratio (OSNR) for bi-directionM multi-pump Raman amplifiers are optimized and compared. Numerical results exhibit that, for optimizing hi-directional multi-pump configurations, there are multiple global maxima for signal gain spectra, and different hi-directional pump cases have different gain ripple and noise performance. Bi-directionally pumping schemes with suitable pump spectra can obviously decrease the gain ripple and equalize the OSNR tilt in comparison with pure backward pumping schemes. 相似文献
