In this work we study nonnegativity and positivity of a discrete quadratic functional with separately varying endpoints. We introduce a notion of an interval coupled with 0, and hence, extend the notion of conjugate interval to 0 from the case of fixed to variable endpoint(s). We show that the nonnegativity of the discrete quadratic functional is equivalent to each of the following conditions: The nonexistence of intervals coupled with 0, the existence of a solution to Riccati matrix equation and its boundary conditions. Natural strengthening of each of these conditions yields a characterization of the positivity of the discrete quadratic functional. Since the quadratic functional under consideration could be a second variation of a discrete calculus of variations problem with varying endpoints, we apply our results to obtain necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for such problems. A prototype of a programmable constant-velocity scaler is presented. This instrument allows the acquisition of partial Mössbauer spectra in selected energy regions using standard drivers and transducers. It can be fully operated by a remote application, thus data acquisition can be automated. The instrument consists of a programmable counter and a constant-velocity reference. The reference waveform generator is amplitude modulated with 13-bit resolution, and is programmable in a wide range of frequencies and waveforms in order to optimize the performance of the transducer. The counter is compatible with most standard SCA, and is configured as a rate-meter that provides counts per selectable time slice at the programmed velocity. As a demonstration of the instrument applications, a partial Mössbauer spectrum of a natural iron foil was taken. Only positive energies were studied in 512 channels, accumulating 20 s per channel. A line width of 0.20 mm/s was achieved, performing with an efficiency of 80%. 相似文献

Tetraphenylantimony(V) carboxylates have been used in the palladium-catalyzed C-phenylation reaction of methyl acrylate in the presence of (PhCO2)2 or t-BuOOH under mild conditions (50 °C). Most alkyl phenyl sulfones are readily alpha-chlorinated with CCl(4) and alpha-brominated with CBrCl3 in KOH-t-BuOH via radical-anion radical pair (RARP) reactions. While isopropyl mesityl sulfone (4) is easily alpha-chlorinated with CCl(4), it was completely recovered when treated with the more reactive CBrCl3. Subsequent investigations showed the latter result to be due to the poor acidity of 4 together with the rapid depletion of CBrCl3 and KOH by their reaction with each other, and led to a variety of other important results. 4-Hydroxyphenyl isopropyl sulfone (6) is unreactive with either CCl4 or CBrCl3 in KOH-t-BuOH, its phenoxide anion strongly reducing the electronegativity of the sulfonyl group, thereby inhibiting alpha-anion formation. This effect is reversed by the electron-withdrawing influence of two alpha-phenyls, so that benzhydryl 4-hydroxyphenyl sulfone (8) is readily alpha-halogenated in KOH-t-BuOH with CCl4 or CBrCl3. On further contact with KOH-t-BuOH the alpha-halogenated sulfones from 8 are decomposed into benzophenone and phenol. While the alpha-halogenated derivatives of 4-methoxyphenyl benzhydryl sulfone (9) are stable to base, they are decomposed even under mildly acidic conditions into 4-methoxyphenyl 4-methoxybenzenethiolsulfonate (9c), phenol, and benzophenone. Mono-alpha-halogenation of benzyl phenyl sulfone (10) enhances the rate of the subsequent halogenation, so that alpha,alpha-dihalogenation is attained while much substrate is still present and the mono-alpha-halogenated product is not detected. The ease of reductive debromination of alpha-bromo sulfones with Cl3C- was correlated with the stability of the formed alpha-anions, explaining the success with alpha-bromobenzylic sulfones but failure with alpha-bromoalkyl sulfones. In the presence of air and the absence of competing halogenation, formation of the alpha-anions of alkyl aryl sulfones is quickly accompanied by oxidative cleavage by atmospheric O2, leading to the formation of arenesulfonyl alcohols, arenesulfonyl halides, and haloarenes. 相似文献

In the present work, the interaction between5,10,15,20-tetrakis(1-methyl-4-pyridyl)-21H,23H-porphine (TMPyP) and its metallated form(CoTMPyP) with three cationic clays was investigatedby X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-VIS and resonance Ramanspectroscopies. Sodium montmorillonites K10 and KSFand a synthetic fluorohectorite (FHT) containingdifferent macrocycle loadings, were prepared by an ionexchange reaction. In nonsaturated KSF and FHT, theCoTMPyP molecule assumes a flat orientation, relativeto the host layers, giving rise to at least twoabsorption bands in the Soret region (ca. 445 and 465 nm)assigned to adsorbed and intercalated CoTMPyP,respectively. For the delaminated K10 sample, a broadband centered around 456 nm, indicates a majorcontribution from the metalloporphyrin on the clayexternal surfaces. The electronic spectra of FHTsamples containing increasing amounts of CoTMPyPshow bands red shifted even when a small amount ofporphyrin is used, suggesting that the electroniclevels of the macrocycle are more affected by theinteraction with the clay than by the metalloporphyrindistortion inside the galleries. The resonance Ramanspectra obtained for all CoTMPyP samples presentedonly minor shifts in peak positions and band width,with the exception of the FHT saturated sample, wherethe bands are clearly broader when compared to otherloadings, suggesting that porphyrin aggregation isoccurring. In the case of TMPyP, the bands at ca. 430and 468 nm were assigned to nonprotonated andprotonated molecules, respectively. This assignment issupported by resonance Raman spectroscopy, which alsoshowed the 2 mode (ca. 1550 cm-1) to bethe most sensitive peak to protonation. 相似文献
