Lithographie Galvanoformung Abformung (LIGA) is a promising approach for fabrication of high aspect ratio 3D microactuator for dual-stage slider in hard disk drive. However, this approach involves practically challenging X-ray lithography and structural transfer processes. In this work, electrostatic MEMS actuator is developed based on a LIGA approach with cost-effective X-ray lithography and dry-film-transfer-to-PCB process. X-ray lithography is performed with X-ray mask based on lift-off sputtered Pb film on mylar substrate and photoresist application using casting-polishing method. High quality and high aspect ratio SU8 microstructures with inverted microactuator pattern have been achieved with the interdigit spacing of ~5 μm, vertical sidewall and a high aspect ratio of 29 by X-ray lithography using the low-cost Pb based X-ray mask. A new dry-film-transfer-to-PCB is employed by using low-cost dry film photoresist to transfer electroplated nickel from surface-treated chromium-coated glass substrate to printed circuit board (PCB) substrate. The dry film is subsequently released everywhere except anchor contacts of the electrostatic actuator structure. The fabricated actuator exhibits good actuation performance with high displacement at moderate operating voltage and suitably high resonance frequency. Therefore, the proposed fabrication process is a promising alternative to realize low-cost MEMS microactuator for industrial applications.  相似文献

A limited number of bacteria can convert oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) sap to hydrogen with satisfactory yield and productivity. In this study, a total of 18 fermentative enriched cultures and 36 newly isolated thermotolerant bacterial strains were compared for hydrogen production from oil palm (OP) sap. The new isolates were obtained from hot springs, palm oil mill effluent and oil palm sap. The test was conducted in three steps: (i) a test for hydrogen production from mixed substrates (cellulose, starch, xylose, and glucose) and OP sap; (ii) a test for substrate concentration tolerance; and (iii) a test for thermotolerance. Five enriched candidates for each of the hydrogen producers were selected according to the criteria defined for the screening test. The hydrogen production of these selected bacterial strains from hot springs were cultivated in batch fermentation of oil palm sap at room temperature (30 ± 2 °C). Five enriched cultures, namely 81RN1, OPS, 85RN5, 89SR3-2 and 112YL1 were found to give high cumulative hydrogen formation of 1085, 1009, 994, 983 and 778 mL H2/L-OP sap, respectively, with the hydrogen content of 29.8, 29.4, 28.7, 27.1 and 27.5%, respectively. PCR–DGGE profiling showed that all these five enriched cultures consisted of species closely related to the genus Clostridium sp. based on the 16S rRNA gene. For pure cultures, the top five hydrogen producers were the isolates encoded as PS-3, PS-4, PS-5, PS-7 and PS-8 exhibiting the hydrogen production of 1973, 1774, 1335, 1170 and 1070 mL H2/L-OP sap, respectively, with the hydrogen content of 33.7, 29.6, 32.5, 31.5 and 26.4%, respectively. Identification of these high hydrogen producers using 16S rRNA sequence matching showed that the isolates PS-3 and PS-8 belonged to Clostridium beijerinckii, while the isolate PS-7 belonged to Clostridium acetobutylicum and the isolates PS-4 and PS-5 belonged to Klebsiella sp. and Klebsiella pneumoniae, respectively. Therefore, the pure culture C. beijerinckii PS-3 exhibited 1.8 folds higher hydrogen production (1973 mL H2/L-OP sap) than the enriched cultures of 81RN1 (1085 mL H2/L-OP sap).  相似文献

The inhibitor effect of tryptamine on the corrosion of mild steel in 0.5 M hydrochloric acid at 30 °C was investigated using linear polarization, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The inhibition efficiency increases with an increase in concentration of tryptamine. At 500 ppm tryptamine the inhibition efficiency calculated by these techniques is around 97%. Cathodic and anodic polarization curves of mild steel in the presence of different concentrations of tryptamine at 30 °C reveal that it is a mixed type inhibitor. Tryptamine follows Langmuir adsorption with adsorption free energy of −35.07 kJ mol−1.  相似文献

This article covers recent developments of material research in Thailand with a focus on environmental sustainability. Data on Thailand’s consumption and economic growth are briefly discussed to present a relevant snapshot of its economy. A selection of research work is classified into three topics, namely, (a) resource utilization, (b) material engineering and manufacturing, and (c) life cycle efficiency. Material technologies have been developed and implemented to reduce the consumption of materials, energy, and other valuable resources, thus reducing the burden we place on our ecological system. At the same time, product life cycle study allows us to understand the extent of the environmental impact we impart to our planet.  相似文献

This paper presents a flexible approach that is real options to increase expected value in water infrastructure systems. Real options make an adaptable ability to respond the systems more effective to good opportunity and withdrawn unproductive situations from loss of investments in the future. The result of this approach is compared with traditional net present value in cases of with and without uncertainty to show expected values of investment of industrial water demand and supply schemes. It shows that real options in system can increase expected value of investment by reducing negative risks and increasing opportunities. An example of water infrastructure investment to support increasing industrial water demand demonstrates the use and results of this approach.  相似文献

Continuously cast ductile iron: Processing, structures, and properties   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Ductile iron billets were continuously cast using a horizontal casting machine. The billets were cast successfully, and the overall quality of the billets was acceptable. The as-cast microstructure consisted of eutectic carbide, chunky carbide and graphite nodules in a pearlite matrix. The amount of carbide was relatively large compared with that in traditional sand castings. Graphite nodularity decreased as the melt was held for longer periods of time before casting after inoculation and nodularisation treatments. The fading effect was significant when the melt was held for 6 min and longer. Graphite nodularity was found to affect the tensile strength and elongation, but not hardness, of the billets. The surface quality of the billets was fair, although light waves and drawal marks were clearly visible. The billets had good roundness. The tensile strength was found to be between 410 and 550 MPa; the elongation was 2.5-4.0%; and the hardness was 520-550 HB. Possible approaches to improving the as-cast structure and the implications of this research are discussed.  相似文献

Felled oil palm trunk (OPT) (25 years old) is an abundant biomass in Southern Thailand. The OPT composition was 31.28–42.85% cellulose, 19.73–25.56% hemicellulose, 10.74–18.47% lignin, 1.63–2.25% protein, 1.60–1.83% fat, 1.12–1.35% ash and trace amount of minerals (0.01–0.40%). Oil palm sap extracted from OPT was found to contain 15.72 g/L glucose, 2.25 g/L xylose, and 0.086 g/L arabinose. A total of twenty samples from hot springs (45–75 °C and pH 6.5–8.4), oil palm sap and palm oil mill effluent were enriched for isolation of hydrogen-producing bacteria. The highest hydrogen-producing strain was isolated from oil palm sap and identified as Clostridium beijerinckii PS-3 using biochemical test and 16S rRNA gene analysis. Among various carbon sources tested, glucose, xylose, starch and cellulose were the preferred substrates for hydrogen production. The strain PS-3 could produce the maximum hydrogen yield of 140.9 ml H2/g total sugar and the cumulative hydrogen production of 1973  ml/L-oil palm sap. Therefore, C. beijerinckii PS-3 is a potential candidate for fermentative hydrogen production from mixed sugars of the oil palm sap.  相似文献

Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials having advantages such as higher strength to weight than conventional engineering materials, non-corrosiveness and modularization, which should help engineers to obtain more efficient and cost effective structural materials and systems. Currently, FRP composites are becoming more popular in civil engineering applications. The objectives of this research are to study performance and behavior of light weight multi-cellular FRP composite bridge decks (both module and system levels) under various loading conditions through finite element modeling, and to validate analytical response of FRP composite bridge decks with data from laboratory evaluations. The relative deflection, equivalent flexural rigidity, failure load (mode) and load distribution factors (LDF) based on FE results have been compared with experimental data and discussed in detail. The finite element results showing good correlations with experimental data are presented in this work.  相似文献

Lactobacillus plantarum N014 is a bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria originally isolated from nham, a traditional Thai fermented sausage, and in the process of development to be used as a starter culture for nham fermentation. During the fermentation process, there is a need to identify the starter culture among several naturally occurring bacteria. In this study, a new plasmid carrying the gfp (green fluorescent protein) gene was constructed based on pGKV210, an Escherichia coli/ Lactococcus shuttle vector containing an erythromycin resistance marker. The gfp gene derived from pGFPuv was placed under the control of an L-lactate dehydrogenase promoter and then inserted at the EcoRI site of pGKV210, leading to pN014-GFP. The novel plasmid was used to transform L. plantarum N014, which is a bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria isolated from nham. The resulting transformant, L. plantarum N014-GFP+, was brightly fluorescent and harbored the expected plasmid. A plasmid stability test revealed that pN014-GFP was stable after 100 generations of growth under nonselective pressure. L. plantarum N014-GFP+ and its parent strain were shown to be very similar in growth rate, bacteriocin production, and lactate production. L. plantarum N014-GFP+ was able to survive in a nham model. The survival clones were still fluorescent and harbored pN014-GFP.  相似文献
