The interest in collaborative logistics is fuelled by the ever increasing pressure on companies to operate more efficiently, the realization that suppliers, consumers, and even competitors, can be potential collaborative partners in logistics, and the connectivity provided by the Internet. Logistics exchanges or collaborative logistics networks use the internet as a common computing platform to implement strategies designed to reduce “hidden costs” such as asset reposition costs. Through collaboration shippers may be able to identify and submit tours with little or no asset repositioning to a carrier, as opposed to submitting individual lanes, in return for more favorable rates. In this paper, we focus on finding a set of tours connecting regularly executed truckload shipments so as to minimize asset repositioning. Mathematically, the truckload shipper collaboration problem translates into covering a subset of arcs in a directed Euclidean graph by a minimum cost set of constrained cycles. We formulate the lane covering problem, propose several solution algorithms, and conduct a computational study on the effectiveness of these methodologies.  相似文献

Like umblical enteric remnants (eg, umblical sinus and omphalomesenteric fistula), enteric remnants can be seen on the dorsal aspect of the body (dorsal enteric sinus, dorsal enteric fistula IDEF], dorsal enteric diverticulum) in conjunction with complete cleft of the vertebral column. Complete cleft of the vertebral column associated with gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system anomalies is known as "split notochord syndrome" (SNS). The authors present an unreported variant of SNS having dorsal enteric diverticulum adjacent to the DEF. The patient died 17 days after surgical repair.  相似文献

In this study, we introduce a set of new kernel functions derived from the generalized Chebyshev polynomials. The proposed generalized Chebyshev polynomials allow us to derive different kernel functions. By using these polynomial functions, we generalize recently introduced Chebyshev kernel function for vector inputs and, as a result, we obtain a robust set of kernel functions for Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification. Thus in this study, besides clarifying how to apply the Chebyshev kernel functions on vector inputs, we also increase the generalization capability of the previously proposed Chebyshev kernels and show how to derive new kernel functions by using the generalized Chebyshev polynomials. The proposed set of kernel functions provides competitive performance when compared to all other common kernel functions on average for the simulation datasets. The results indicate that they can be used as a good alternative to other common kernel functions for SVM classification in order to obtain better accuracy. Moreover, test results show that the generalized Chebyshev kernel approaches to the minimum support vector number for classification in general.  相似文献

The paper reports a study of the cause of defects in light structures and the toppling of a wall constructed on a fill material rich in Ankara clay. Laboratory tests were carried out on vertical and horizontal samples from boreholes and a trial pit was excavated near the damaged structures. The results showed that in the vicinity of the toppled wall, swelling pressures in the horizontal direction were greater than those measured in the vertical direction. The swelling properties of the fill material were higher than those of original Ankara clay as determined previously by other investigators, suggesting that breakdown of the cementing bonds and a change in the fabric are the main factors affecting the swelling pressure of disturbed and compacted expansive soils. The calculations to predict uplift showed a good agreement with the observations in the damaged structures. It is concluded that swelling was the main cause of the damage to the light structures at the study site and resulted from the highly expansive nature of the fill material, poor drainage, the semi-arid climate, poor construction methods and ineffective precautions. Some recommendations for minimizing the effects of swelling at the study site are briefly outlined.  相似文献

Objective: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of surface treatments on the shear bond strength of resin cements to zirconia. Material and methods: Sintered zirconia specimens (n = 192) were divided into four different surface treatment groups: control (no treatment); airborne-particle abrasion; glaze layer and hydrofluoric acid (HF) application, and hot etching solution application. Then, each group was divided into four subgroups (n = 12), and three different resin cements were applied to the zirconia surfaces. The shear bond strength value of each specimen was measured after 5000 thermo cycles. The failure types were examined with a stereomicroscope and the effects of the surface treatments were evaluated with a scanning electron microscope. Results were analyzed using analysis of variance and Tukey’s post hoc tests (α = 0.05). Results: The surface treatment and resin cement type significantly affected the bond strength results (p < 0.05). For all resin cements, the airborne-particle abrasion treatment increased the shear bond strength values (p < 0.05). The glaze layer & HF application increased shear bond strength values for all groups, except the Single Bond Universal-RelyX Unicem Aplicap group (p < 0.05). The surface roughness values of airborne-particle abraded specimens were similar to comparable values for specimens from the control group and the hot etching solution group (p > 0.05). The glaze layer & HF application group produced the highest surface roughness values (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study recommend using the appropriate combination of surface treatment and adhesive/silane coupling agent to achieve durable zirconia-resin bonding.  相似文献

The effect of initial water-curing period on the strength properties of concretes was investigated. Three types of cement, one ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and two natural pozzolanic cements (blended and trass cements), were used in the concrete mixtures. Six different curing regimes were applied to the specimens, the first of which was continuous water storing, and the second continuous air storing. In the remaining four regimes, the specimens were stored under varying initial water-curing periods of 3, 7, 14, and 28 days, respectively. The compressive strength tests were carried out on the cubic specimens at the ages of 7, 14, 28, 90, and 180 days. The variation of compressive strength with time was evaluated by using a semilogarithmic function and the strength-gaining rates were calculated by using this equation for different curing conditions. It was found that poor curing conditions are more adversely effective on the strength of concretes made by pozzolanic cements than that of OPC, and it is necessary to apply water curing to the former concretes at least for the initial 7 days to expose the pozzolanic activity. However, when the pozzolanic cement concretes have sufficient initial curing, they can reach the strength of OPC concretes in reasonable periods of time.  相似文献

In order to exploit wind power as economically as possible, it was suggested that the wind turbine should be enclosed inside a specially designed shroud. Various geometries are discussed; it is shown that with a fairly compact shroud a significant power augmentation can be achieved. For improving the shroud performance, the use of a ring-shaped flap or boundary layer control technique is introduced. It is shown that up to 80% improvement in the shroud power augmentation can be obtained by the use of an appropriate ring-shaped flap while proper bleeding of the shroud's external flow into its inner rear part will increase its power augmentation by about 25%. The present review also discussed the design and performance of an axial flow turbine which is the most suitable for the proposed shrouds. It is shown that such a turbine produces a fairly stable output for varying wind speeds while exhibiting a fairly high efficiency. Based on the reported research with shrouds, a pilot plant producing 1 hp at 5 m/s with a 3 m dia. turbine was built. Its design and preliminary field test results are also included in the review.  相似文献

Sulphuric acid-treated wheat bran (STWB) was used as an adsorbent to remove Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution. It was observed that the adsorption yield of Pb(II) ions was found to be pH dependent. The equilibrium time for the process was determined as 2h. STWB gave the highest adsorption yield at around pH 6.0. At this pH, adsorption percentage for an initial Pb(II) ions concentration of 100mg/L was found to be 82.8 at 25 degrees C for contact time of 2h. The equilibrium data obtained at different temperatures fitted to the non-linear form of Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson and linear form of Langmuir and Freundlich models. Isotherm constants were calculated and compared for the models used. The maximum adsorption capacity (q(max)) which was obtained linear form of Langmuir model increased from 55.56 to 79.37mg/g with increasing temperature from 25 to 60 degrees C. Similar trend was observed for other isotherm constants related to the adsorption capacity. Linear form of Langmuir isotherm data was evaluated to determine the thermodynamic parameters for the process. Thermodynamic parameters show that adsorption process of Pb(II) ions is an endothermic and more effective process at high temperatures. The pseudo nth order kinetic model was successfully applied to the kinetic data and the order (n) of adsorption reaction was calculated at the range from 1.711 to 1.929. The values of k(ad) were found to be 5.82x10(-4) and 21.81x10(-4)(min(-1))(mg/g)(1-n) at 25 and 60 degrees C, respectively. Activation energy was determined as 29.65kJ/mol for the process. This suggest that the adsorption Pb(II) ions by STWB is chemically controlled.  相似文献

The membrane bioreactor (MBR) used in this study consisted of a jet loop bioreactor (aerobic high rate system) and a membrane separation unit (microfiltration). Jet loop membrane bioreactor (JLMBR) system is a high performance treatment system. High organic loading rates can be achieved with a very small footprint. The JLMBR is a compact biological treatment system which requires much smaller tank volumes than conventional activated sludge system. Solid-liquid separation is performed with a membrane. The JLMBR system, of 35 L capacity, was operated continuously for 3 months with a sludge age of 1.1-2.8 days and chemical oxygen demand (COD) loads of 3.5-33.5 kg COD m(-3) day(-1). The mean concentration values of COD, total nitrogen (TN) and PO(4)3- in cheese whey (CW) were found as 78,680 mg L(-1), 1125 mg L(-1) and 378 mg L(-1), respectively. Ninety-seven percent COD removal rate was obtained at the sludge age (Thetac) of 1.6 days and volumetric loads of 22.2 kg COD m(-3) day(-1). TN removal was obtained as 99% at the loading rates of 17-436 g TN m(-3) day(-1). PO4(3-) removals were between 65 and 88% for the loading of 30-134 gPO4(3-) m(-3) day(-1). The system could simultaneously remove the COD, TN and PO(4)3- at high efficiencies. The sludge flocks were highly motile, dispersed and had poor settling properties.  相似文献
