Chemical investigation of the roots of the Vietnamese plant Tacca paxiana resulted in the isolation of five new steroidal compounds, taccalonolide R ( 6 ), S ( 7 ), T ( 8 ), U ( 9 ), and V ( 10 ). Their structures were established on the basis of NMR and mass‐spectral data. In addition, the five known taccalonolides A ( 1 ), B ( 2 ), E ( 3 ), K ( 4 ), and N ( 5 ) were also isolated and identified.  相似文献

Starting in 1989 an experiment was run at PSI to directly measure the final sticking probability in muon catalyzed dt fusion. This experiment was based on an active-target ionization chamber (IC) built at Gatchina, Russia, and an array of plastic neutron counters. In three runs approximately 5×106 isolated alpha signals were recorded with around one half of these occurring in the inner chamber region where we have more complete understanding of the systematic errors. Particularly from a long run in 1992 we were able to obtain a very clean sticking peak of some 5000 events. However, to reach an accurate value of sticking, all systematic effects and several major backgrounds had to be understood in detail. To this end a Monte Carlo code was written to simulate the full electrostatic environment of the IC and to recreate completely each signal type including the actual tritium decay noise from the live experiment. A slightly model dependent value of approx. 0.56±0.04% is obtained for final sticking.  相似文献

The triton energy of the muon capture reaction 3He t+v, where 3 He is the ground state of muonic3He, has been measured in order to investigate a possible heavy v admixture into the flavour with high sensitivity. 3 He has been formed via the pd fusion reaction by stopping in an ionization chamber (IC) filled with an H/D gas mixture of 3% D concentration at a pressure of 161 bar. In a first short experiment 650 triton events were observed yielding an upper limit for the -heavy v mixing strength of 2.3×10–3 atE 0v=60 MeV.  相似文献

A systematic calculation of nuclear matter is performed which includes the long-range correlations between nucleons arising from one- and two-pion exchange. Three-body effects from 2π exchange with excitations of virtual Δ(1232)-isobars are also taken into account in our diagrammatic calculation of the energy per particle ˉ(k f). In order to eliminate possible high-momentum components from the interactions we introduce at each pion-baryon vertex a form factor of monopole type. The empirical nuclear matter saturation point, ρ0 ≃ 0.16fm^-3, ˉ0 ≃ - 16MeV, is well reproduced with a monopole mass of Λ ≃ 4πf π ≃ 1.16GeV. As in the recent approach based on the universal low-momentum NN potential V low-k, the inclusion of three-body effects is crucial in order to achieve saturation of nuclear matter. We demonstrate that the dependence of the pion exchange contributions to ˉ(k f) on the “resolution” scale Λ can be compensated over a wide range of Λ by counterterms with two “running” contact couplings. As a further application we study the in-medium chiral condensate 〈ˉq〉(ρ) beyond the linear density approximation. For ρ ⩽ 1.5ρ0 we find small corrections from the derivative dˉ(k f)/dm π, which are stable against variations of the monopole regulator mass Λ.  相似文献

We report small angle neutron scattering of the Skyrmion lattice in MnSi using an experimental setup that minimizes the effects of demagnetizing fields and double scattering. Under these conditions, the Skyrmion lattice displays resolution-limited Gaussian rocking peaks that correspond to a magnetic correlation length in excess of several hundred micrometers. This is consistent with exceptionally well-defined long-range order. We further establish the existence of higher-order scattering, discriminating parasitic double scattering with Renninger scans. The field and temperature dependence of the higher-order scattering arises from an interference effect. It is characteristic for the long-range crystalline nature of the Skyrmion lattice as shown by simple mean-field calculations.  相似文献

Two experiments with low-energy muons are described: the determination of the stopping power of C, Si, Ti and Au for muons at energies down to 2 keV and the measurement of the diffusion times for pµ and dµ atoms in low-pressure (0.25–12 hPa) hydrogen gas. A pronounced Barkas effect was found for muons at the Bragg peak (about 10 keV): the stopping power for µ in C, e.g., is about 30% lower than that for µ+. The mean kinetic energy of pµ atoms at the end of the cascade in 1 hPa hydrogen gas was determined to be (2.6 ± 0.6) eV (preliminary value).  相似文献

Using a source of Eu 2 151 O3 the (n, γ) spectrum of Eu152 and Eu153 was investigated by means of the Risø bent crystal spectrometer. A total of 57 transitions were fitted into a level scheme of Eu153. The rotational bands of the Nilsson states 5/2+ [413], 5/2? [532], and 3/2+ [411] were found up to the spin values 15/2, 13/2, and 11/2 respectively. The 13/2 member of the 3/2+ [411] band is suggested at 716.15 keV. The interpretation of these levels is confirmed by the comparison of the experimental branching ratios with theoretical predictions and by considerations concerning the spin dependent population of these levels.  相似文献

The kinetic energy distribution of ground state muonic hydrogen atoms mup(1S) is determined from time-of-flight spectra measured at 4, 16, and 64 hPa H2 room-temperature gas. A 0.9 keV component is discovered and attributed to radiationless deexcitation of long-lived mu p(2S) atoms in collisions with H2 molecules. The analysis reveals a relative population of about 1%, and a pressure-dependent lifetime (e.g., 30.4 +21.4/-9.7 ns at 64 hPa) of the long-lived mu p(2S) population, equivalent to a 2S quench rate in mu p(2S)+H2 collisions of 4.4 +2.1/-1.8 x 10(11) s(-1) at liquid-hydrogen density.  相似文献

The energy and time distributions of the decay X-rays of excited, metastable, molecular (dμHe)*-resonances were measured. The comparison of the observed energy spectra with calculated ones suggests that decay from the rotational state J = 1 dominates at the investigated conditions. The muon transfer rates from ground state deuterium to the helium isotopes 3He and 4He at low temperatures were determined from the time distributions of these spectra. Additionally, the temperature dependence of the muon transfer rate was clearly established in deuterium / 4He mixtures. The classical methods used in beam cooling are hard to be adapted for a beam of short-lived elementary particles. A novel method, the so-called frictional cooling – that is cooling a beam of low-energy charged particles by moderation in matter and acceleration in an electrostatic field – has been shown to be feasible. In our experiments performed in 1994/1995 a beam of short-lived particles was cooled for the first time ever. Utilizing frictional cooling on a beam of slow negative muons we observed increase in phase space density by about one order of magnitude.
