An implementation of the IF section of WCDMA mobile transceivers with a set of two chips fabricated in an inexpensive 0.35-/spl mu/m two-poly three-metal CMOS process is presented. The transmit/receive chip set integrates quadrature modulators and demodulators, wide dynamic range automatic gain control (AGC) amplifiers, with linear-in-decibel gain control, and associated circuitry. This paper describes the problems encountered and the solutions envisaged to meet stringent specifications, with process and temperature variations, thus overcoming the limitations of CMOS devices, while operating at frequencies in the range of 100 MHz-1 GHz. Detailed measurement results corroborating successful application of the new techniques are reported. A receive AGC dynamic range of 73 dB with linearity error of less than /spl plusmn/2 dB and spread of less than 5 dB for a temperature range of -30/spl deg/C to +85/spl deg/C in the gain control characteristic has been measured. The modulator measurement shows a carrier suppression of 35 dB and sideband/third harmonic suppression of over 46 dB. The core die area of each chip is 1.5 mm/sup 2/.  相似文献

Amorphous boron nitride thin coatings (∼0.2 μm) have been formed on Nicalon and C-Nicaion (pre-carbon-coated Nicalon) yarns via dip coating in boric acid solution followed by heating and nitriding in NH3gas at 1000°C. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spec-troscopy (AES) studies have shown the formation of boron nitride. The coating was boron rich and contains oxygen. The N/B and O/B ratios range from 0.6 to 0.8 and from 0.1 to 0.25, respectively. Tensile strength measurements revealed that the BN-coated C-Nicalon yarn maintained ∼85% of its original strength while BN-coated Nicalon lost ∼85% of its original strength. Auger depth profiles showed that there was a consumption of carbon during the heating and nitridation process for both BN-coated Nicalon and C-Nicalon fibers. However, the depletion of carbon in BN-coated Nicalon fibers was much more severe than that in BN-coated C-Nicalon fibers.  相似文献

This paper presents a visual object tracking system which is tolerant to external imaging factors such as illumination, scale, rotation, occlusion and background changes. Specifically, an integration of an online version of total-error-rate minimization based projection network with an observation model of particle filter is proposed to effectively distinguish between the target object and the background. A re-weighting technique is proposed to stabilize the sampling of particle filter for stochastic propagation. For self-adaptation, an automatic updating scheme and extraction of training samples are proposed to adjust to system changes online. Our qualitative and quantitative experiments on 16 public video sequences show convincing performances in terms of tracking accuracy and computational efficiency over competing state-of-the-art algorithms.  相似文献

Coverage is an important performance metric for many applications, such as surveillance in wireless sensor networks. Coverage control is used to select as few active nodes as possible from all deployed sensor nodes, such that sufficient coverage of the monitored area can be guaranteed while reducing the energy consumption of each individual sensor node to prolong the network lifetime. This paper classifies three types of coverage control protocols based on the available information about nodes’ distances or locations, and reviews several representative protocols for each type. We also propose a new distributed and localized coverage control protocol, called Layered Diffusion-based Coverage Control (LDCC). The LDCC protocol does not require information about the node location coordinates when selecting active nodes. Instead, it exploits hop count information, which is easily obtained in a WSN, to select active sensor nodes. Furthermore, the LDCC protocol is very simple and does not require any sophisticated computation such as distance or covered area computation. Our simulation results show that the LDCC protocol achieves a high coverage ratio while incurring very low message overhead compared with other existing protocols. Furthermore, simulation results suggest that in a large-scale sensor network with medium to large localization errors, LDCC performs even better than location-based coverage control protocols.  相似文献

Conventional keyword search engines are restricted to a given data model and cannot easily adapt to unstructured, semi-structured or structured data. In this paper, we propose an efficient and adaptive keyword search method, called EASE, for indexing and querying large collections of heterogeneous data. To achieve high efficiency in processing keyword queries, we first model unstructured, semi-structured and structured data as graphs, and then summarize the graphs and construct graph indices instead of using traditional inverted indices. We propose an extended inverted index to facilitate keyword-based search, and present a novel ranking mechanism for enhancing search effectiveness. We have conducted an extensive experimental study using real datasets, and the results show that EASE achieves both high search efficiency and high accuracy, and outperforms the existing approaches significantly.  相似文献

Measurement of rubber cutting resistance in the absence of friction   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A method for assessing the resistance of rubbers to cutting by sharp objects is described. It involves the application of the cutting implement -a razor blade-to the tip of a crack in a stretched tear test piece. The method enables effects of friction on the cutting process to be substantially eliminated. Under these conditions two distinct forms of cutting are observed: one is a slow time-dependent process, while the other involves rapid, catastropic failure. Effects of test piece shape and deformation on the cutting behaviour can be taken into account by use of fracture mechanics. The relative cutting resistance of different rubbers is found to vary according to the test conditions. At low deformations the onset of catastrophic cutting can be defined by a simple relationship which is applicable to all rubbers examined.
Résumé On décrit une méthode pour établir la résistance des caoutchouc à la coupure par des objets affûtés. Cette méthode comporte l'application d'un moyen de coupage (lame de rasoir) à l'extrémité d'une fissure dans une pièce d'essai soumise à déchirement. La méthode permet d'éliminer de manière substantielle les effets de la friction lors du processus de coupure. Sous ces conditions, deux formes distinctes de coupures sont observées: l'une est un processus lent dépendant du temps, tandis que l'autre comporte une rupture rapide et catastrophique. En utilisant la mécanique de la rupture, on peut tenir compte des effets de la forme des pièces d'essai et de la déformation sur le comportement lors du coupage. La résistance relative au coupage de différents caoutchoucs parait varier avec les conditions d'essai. Lors de faibles déformations, le démarrage de la coupure dite catastrophique peut être défini par une relation simple qui est applicable dans tous les cas des caoutchoucs examinés.

Technological advancements have led to an increase in demand for fabrication of small and cheap miniature components or parts, especially in the medical and electronic fields. In this research work, micro-rods of varying lengths and diameters were molded using a specially designed tabletop injection molding machine. The main purpose was to investigate whether complete filling of the microcavities was possible and whether small cavity openings will restrict melt flow into the cavities.

Process parameters, such as injection pressure, mold temperature and melt temperature were varied. The micro-rods obtained were analyzed with Scanning Electron Micrographs (SEM). The results showed that injection pressure was the most important parameter for microinjection molding. The use of a vacuum system also yielded better results.  相似文献
