Heat-treated wood is a value-added product but its exposure to various environmental factors leads to discoloration of wood surface due to the photochemical reactions. Discoloration has become an important economic problem for wood industries since product specifications are now more demanding. In addition, stricter environmental legislations necessitate the development of environmentally friendly transparent coatings with minimal use of chemicals which balances aesthetic and protection. In this study, the acrylic polyurethane coating was improved with the addition of natural antioxidant (bark extract) and lignin stabilizer alone or in combination to enhance the resistance of this coating to different weathering factors. An accelerated aging test was conducted with the aim of comparing the acrylic polyurethane coatings containing different additives with the commercially available pigmented solvent borne coating used by industry and organic UV absorbers. The modifications in chemical structure of coatings were characterized by ATR–FT-IR analysis. The color change data showed that the coating containing bark extract was the most effective and performed better than the industrial coating. However, the visual assessment showed that the coating containing bark extract and lignin stabilizer had the best performance. FT-IR analyses suggested that the chain scission reaction took place throughout the weathering but its effect was not significant for any of the coatings.  相似文献

Adhesion plays an important role in the final properties of nanocomposites. This study explored the surface interaction of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and the effect of CNC sources on adhesion between individual CNCs and the Si tip of an AFM cantilever using a force mapping technique called FMap. The adhesion between CNCs and a Si tip from five different sources has been studied: cotton, Whatman filter paper, hemp, softwood chemical kraft pulp, and softwood-dissolving pulp (alistaple). Mica was used as the background substrate to act as an internal standard. This study’s findings suggest that adhesion is not the same for all CNCs. Transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy were used to determine the size and shape of each CNC. The experimental quantitative data showed that adhesion between CNCs and the Si tip has a close correlation with the diameter of the CNCs. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed the presence of sulfate groups on the surface of the CNCs and a correlation between adhesion and surface chemistry of the CNCs was observed.  相似文献

In this study, ~?3.5 µm thick multilayer titanium alumina nitride (TiAlN), alumina titanium nitride (AlTiN), and alumina chromium nitride (AlCrN) coatings were deposited on the H13 steel surface by cathodic arc physical vapor deposition (CAPVD) method. The tribological performance of the coatings was evaluated by a tribometer at boundary lubrication condition. Then, coating surfaces were observed by optical microscope, optical profilometer, and atomic force microscope to evaluate the morphological changes, wear volumes, and tribofilm thickness. Also, scanning electron microscopy (energy dispersive X-ray) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry analyses were applied to coating surfaces for the tribochemical evolution of the tribofilm. Results showed that AlCrN coating performed the best tribological behavior at boundary lubricated condition, when compared to TiAlN and AlTiN coatings and it can be used as a wear resistant cam tappet coating in internal combustion engines.  相似文献

Nitrobenzene (CNC-1), trifluoromethyl benzene (CNC-2) modified and polystyrene-grafted (CNC-g) cellulose nanocrystals in polystyrene (PS)-N,N dimethylformamide (DMF) solutions were electrospun and collected as stretched and aligned fibers on a rotating drum. Scanning electron microscope pictures showed significant alignment in the case of unmodified and nitrobenzene-modified CNC-1/PS nanocomposite fibers once the linear speed of rotor reached to 15 m s−1. Fiber diameter decrease was more strong with rotor speed increase in the case of trifluoromethyl benzene modified (CNC-2) and polystyrene-grafted (CNC-g) cellulose nanocrystals/PS systems. Dynamic mechanical analysis including storage and elastic modulus of electrospun-oriented fibers were performed on surface-modified and polymer-grafted CNC/PS samples. According to α transition peak, the increase in the glass-transition temperature with filler concentration was the highest in polymer-grafted CNC-g/PS composite fibers. It was due to the interpenetration of grafted polymer brushes and free polymer chains in continuous phase and resulted in restrictions of motions of polymer chains in the PS matrix. The elastic moduli of nitrobenzene (CNC-1) and trifluoromethyl benzene (CNC-2)-modified CNC-filled PS composite fibers agreed well with percolation model, which indicates the CNC–CNC interactions and network formation with an increase in concentration. Magnitude of the elastic modulus of polymer grafted CNC-g at 0.33 vol % in PS was significantly higher than the prediction from percolation theory. It was due the immobilized polymer chains around CNC-g particles. However, grafted polymer chains, at higher CNC concentrations acted like stickers among CNC particles and caused CNC agglomerates with entrapped free polystyrene from the matrix, thus caused a decrease in the elastic modulus. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The concentrations of myricetin in medicinal plants such as Rosa canina L. (rosa hip), Terebinthina chica L. (terebinth), Urtica dioica L. (nettle), and Portuca oleracea L. (purslane) were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). The aglycones of myricetin were extracted using methanol–ascorbic acid– hydrochloric acid, methanol–hydrochloric acid, and methanol, separated within 5 min, and individually quantitated in the positive ionization mode using optimized conditions for HPLC-MS. Methanol–ascorbic acid–hydrochloric acid was the optimum extraction solvent. The myricetin concentration in the plants were between 3 and 58 mg kg?1, with a limit of quantification equal to 0.1 mg L?1.  相似文献

采用微弧氧化工艺来改善原位颗粒增强铝基复合材料的表面性能。通过向铝熔体中加入15%CuO来制备CuAl2增强铝基复合材料。所制备的材料经过热压、均匀化处理、淬火和人工时效处理,然后在含KOH、KF和Na2SiO3的电解液中进行微弧氧化处理。经微弧氧化处理,复合材料的表面生成了有效厚度约15μm的Al2O3膜层。洛氏硬度测试后,在压痕边缘部位没有出现裂纹或明显的剥离现象,表明Al2O3膜层与基底结合良好。干摩擦试验结果表明,Al2O3膜层对Al2O3球的破坏性作用具有明显的抑制,Al2O3膜层的磨损性能比基体提高15倍以上。  相似文献

This paper presents for the first time a theoretical nonisothermal dynamic model for spouted bed catalytic reactors. A pseudo-homogeneous on-dimensional model is developed for an adiabatic spouted-bed with a first order reaction. Within the scope of this study, the effectiveness of two kinds of instructional support was evaluated with regard to the learner’s interests. Two versions of a simulation program about the respiratory chain were developed, differing only in the kind of tasks provided for instructional support: One version contained problem-solving tasks, the other one contained worked-out examples. The focus was on the learner’s interest in the subject and in computers. The first goal of the study was to find to what extent computer simulations incorporating the different kinds of instructional support have positive effects on situational subject-interest. The second goal was to evaluate the interactions between the learner’s interests and the instructional support with regard to the learning results (subdivided into factual knowledge and understanding). Simulations with worked-out examples were shown to have positive effects on the learner’s situational interest in the subject. This was not found to be the case in simulations with problem-solving tasks. Regardless of the kind of instructional support, learners with little interest in the subject were able to achieve significant gains in factual knowledge. However, improvement in understanding was dependent on the kind of instructional support.  相似文献
