We analyze the transmission performance of vestigial sideband (VSB) signals with electrical dispersion compensator (EDC) by numerical simulations. Optimizing the dispersion and bandwidth of EDC, and the extinction ratio and chirp of the modulator, we can improve the dispersion tolerance of VSB signals. VSB signals with negative chirp have better transmission performance while VSB signals with positive chirp are advantageous to the implementation of EDC due to low optimum dispersion in EDC. VSB transmission with EDC can be a very cost-effective solution for 10-Gb/s single-channel systems with the maximum transmission distance of 320 km.  相似文献

New immunoglobulin E (IgE)-binding proteins from soybean (Glycine max L.) were identified using serological analysis of a recombinant cDNA expression library (SEREX) derived from soybean seeds and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A soybean cDNA expression library was synthesized using the lambda ZAP express phage vector system and screened using sera of soybean-sensitive patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). A total of 3 new IgE-binding soybean proteins were identified as enolase, triosephosphate isomerase (TPI), and malate dehydrogenase (MDH). Full-length cDNAs were cloned into the expression vector pET15b, and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The recombinant proteins were purified using affinity chromatography, followed by ELISA, with the sera of AD patients, resulting in positive reactions. The cDNA sequences were submitted to the GenBank Nucleotide Sequence Database with the accession numbers AY496909 (enolase), AY631048 (TPI), and AY496910 (MDH).  相似文献

A water‐developable negative photoresist based on the photocrosslinking of N‐phenylamide groups was prepared by the copolymerization of 4‐styrenesulfonic acid sodium salts (SSS) with N‐phenylmethacrylamide (copolymer A) or p‐hydroxy‐N‐phenylmethacrylamide (copolymer B), and its properties such as solubility changes, photochemical reaction, and photoresist characteristics were studied. The copolymer containing a relatively higher amount of SSS units was soluble in water. Solubility changes of the copolymers in the various buffer solutions of pH 4 ~ 11 and in water upon irradiation were observed by the measurement of insoluble fraction. The copolymers were soluble in water before irradiation, whereas they became insoluble upon irradiation with the UV light of 254 nm. The photochemical reaction of the copolymer studied by the UV and IR absorption spectroscopies indicated that a photo‐Fries rearrangement was favored for copolymer A, whereas a photocrosslinking reaction was predominate for copolymer B. Resist properties of the copolymers were studied by measurement of the normalized thickness and by development of the micropattern. Negative tone images with a resolution of 1 μm were obtained with these materials that have a sensitivity (D) of ~ 1100 mJ/cm2 with an aqueous developing process.© 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present a simple, fast, and practical route to vertically align carbon nanotubes on a porous support using a combination of self-assembly and filtration methods. The advantage of this approach is that it can be easily scaled up to large surface areas, allowing the fabrication of membranes for practical gas separation applications. The gas transport properties of thus constructed nanotube/polymer nanocomposite membranes are analogous to those of carbon nanotube membranes grown by chemical vapor deposition. This paper shows the first data for transport of gas mixtures through carbon nanotube membranes. The permeation of gas mixtures through the membranes exhibits different properties than those observed using single-gas experiments, confirming that non-Knudsen transport occurs.  相似文献

A simple steerable array antenna is designed and developed using a movable dielectric phase shifter. The change of effective dielectric constant at different dielectric slab positions on a coplanar waveguide is used as the phase shifter. The impedance matching and desired phase shift conditions are satisfied at two slab heights, and the reflection is designed to be minimized at these slab positions. The low-loss dielectric material is used as the dielectric slab and is placed close to a coplanar transmission line with airgap. The 4times4 steerable array antenna with the phase shifters is designed and fabricated at 20 GHz. The H-plane radiation patterns are measured at different phase shift positions and compared with the expected results  相似文献

The ruthenium(II)‐ or rhodium(III)‐catalyzed pyrimidinyl‐directed Grignard‐type C−H additions of N‐heterocycles with activated aldehydes and ketones are described. A cationic ruthenium catalyst and sodium acetate additive in dichloroethane as solvent were found to be optimal catalytic system for the construction of C‐7 alkylated indolines. In sharp contrast, a cationic rhodium complex allows the generation of C‐2 alkylated indoles and pyrroles as well as C‐1 alkylated carbazoles. The site‐selective C−H functionalization of these heterocyclic scaffolds could be an important asset towards the development of novel bioactive compounds.

Mucins are the structural components of the mucus gels that protect the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and reproductive tracts. These polydisperse glycoproteins (250,000 to 20,000,000 D) are approximately 80% carbohydrate on a mass basis and have a high intrinsic viscosity due to their large size and extreme hydrophilicity. Mucin oligosaccharides, the structures responsible for this hydrophilicity, are heterogeneous in size and structure but are chiefly O-linked, i.e., they initiate from N-acetylgalactosamine residues attached to threonine and serine residues of the polypeptide backbone. Our understanding of the structure of mucins has advanced rapidly in the last few years with the isolation and sequencing of cDNA clones that encode mucin polypeptide backbones. All currently well-characterized mucins have been found to contain extended arrays of tandemly repeated peptides rich in potential O-glycosylation sites. Less is known about the unique sequences that flank the tandem repeat arrays of secretory mucins, but currently available information indicates that these flanking regions contain cysteine-rich stretches that participate in mucin oligomer formation. Thus, secretory mucins appear to consist of oligomers containing heavily glycosylated domains flanked by unique sequences required for polymerization. Progress has also been made in characterizing the genes that encode mucins. At least four human mucin genes are known at present, although many others may remain to be discovered. Moreover, much work remains before we gain an understanding of the mechanisms involved in the expression of mucin genes and their tissue-specific regulation.  相似文献

DIG-labelled sense and antisense cRNA probes were synthesized from cDNA clones of CymMV and ORSV for virus detection in infected plants. A slot-blot hybridization assay was developed using either crude leaf extracts or total RNA from infected leaves. The assay could detect 50 and 250 pg of purified CymMV and ORSV RNA, respectively. As little as 30 mg of Nicotiana benthamiana infected leaves was sufficient to provide positive detection. CymMV and ORSV were detected at 3125 and 625 times dilution of leaf extracts, respectively. The DIG-labelled cRNA probes are stable for more than a year. This method is sensitive, reliable and suitable for large-scale routine testing of plant viruses. By using the two DIG-labelled cRNA probes in situ, CymMV and ORSV were localized in systemically infected leaves and stems of N. benthamiana and orchids.  相似文献
