In this paper, we consider minimizing total weighted completion time criteria on a single machine. Jobs processing times are step function of its starting time and all jobs have a common due date. First, we present some new lemmas and dominance properties for this NP-hard problem, and then a memetic algorithm using these properties is developed. We compare the solutions of the memetic algorithm with optimal solutions obtained from complete enumeration. The results show that the average percentage error of the proposed algorithm from optimal solutions is about 2% and as the variance of processing time increase, the percentage errors decrease. 相似文献

We present an overview of various edge and line oriented approaches to contour detection that have been proposed in the last two decades. By edge and line oriented we mean methods that do not rely on segmentation. Distinction is made between edges and contours. Contour detectors are divided in local and global operators. The former are mainly based on differential analysis, statistical approaches, phase congruency, rank order filters, and combinations thereof. The latter include computation of contour saliency, perceptual grouping, relaxation labeling and active contours. Important aspects are covered, such as preprocessing aimed to suppress texture and noise, multiresolution techniques, connections between computational models and properties of the human visual system, and use of shape priors. An overview of procedures and metrics for quantitative performance evaluation is also presented. Our main conclusion is that contour detection has reached high degree of sophistication, taking into account multimodal contour definition (by luminance, color or texture changes), mechanisms for reducing the contour masking influence of noise and texture, perceptual grouping, multiscale aspects and high-level vision information. 相似文献

Attempts have been made to quantify the amount of contaminants absorbed by liquid metal from commercial ZrO2-, Al2O3-, and SiC-base crucibles used for vacuum melting of Ni-45 wt pct Ti alloy. The molten alloy was held under vacuum for 90
minutes at 1450 °C to become homogenized. Reactions between the liquid metal and the crucible were investigated by visual
observation, chemical analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image processing, and X-ray mapping. The relative degree
of contamination declined in the following sequence: commercially pure SiC>SiC-5 wt pct Al2O3-5 wt pct SiO2>slurry cast alumina>recrystallized alumina>zircon type A>oxygen deficient high-purity zirconia. Thermodynamic calculations
showed a difference between the equilibrium and the experimental data, indicating that except for commercially pure SiC crucible,
the amount of the crucible elements entering the melt is greater than the calculated equilibrium values. This discrepancy
seems to be due to the immersion into the melt of the undissolved chemical compounds formed due to the reactions between the

The simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) algorithm has attracted considerable attention for challenging optimization problems where it is difficult or impossible to obtain a direct gradient of the objective (say, loss) function. The approach is based on a highly efficient simultaneous perturbation approximation to the gradient based on loss function measurements. SPSA is based on picking a simultaneous perturbation (random) vector in a Monte Carlo fashion as part of generating the approximation to the gradient. This paper derives the optimal distribution for the Monte Carlo process. The objective is to minimize the mean square error of the estimate. The authors also consider maximization of the likelihood that the estimate be confined within a bounded symmetric region of the true parameter. The optimal distribution for the components of the simultaneous perturbation vector is found to be a symmetric Bernoulli in both cases. Two important visual properties of paintings and painting-like images are the absence of texture details and the increased sharpness of edges as compared to photographic images. Painting-like artistic effects can be achieved from photographic images by filters that smooth out texture details, while preserving or enhancing edges and corners. However, not all edge preserving smoothers are suitable for this purpose. We present a simple nonlinear local operator that generalizes both the well known Kuwahara filter and the more general class of filters known in the literature as "criterion and value filter structure." This class of operators suffers from intrinsic theoretical limitations which give rise to a dramatic instability in presence of noise, especially on shadowed areas. Such limitations are discussed in the paper and overcome by the proposed operator. A large variety of experimental results shows that the output of the proposed operator is visually similar to a painting. Comparisons with existing techniques on a large set of natural images highlight conditions on which traditional edge preserving smoothers fail, whereas our approach produces good results. In particular, unlike many other well established approaches, the proposed operator is robust to degradations of the input image such as blurring and noise contamination. 相似文献

This paper addresses the modeling of the pressure?Cvolume?Ctemperature (PVT) properties of 14 polymer melts using simplified Yukawa hard-sphere-chain equation of sate (EOS) plus first-order perturbation theory. Three pure-component parameters appeared in the EOS have been determined via the volumetric data. These parameters reflect the segment number, non-bonded segment?Csegment interaction energy, and segment size. Likewise, this study considered chains that interact through a range-parameter of Yukawa potential with l.8. The reliability of the proposed model has been assessed by comparing the results with 1,315 experimental data points over a broad range of pressures and temperatures for which, their measured values were available in the literature. Our calculations on the specific volume of studied liquid polymers reproduce very accurately the experimental PVT data. The overall average absolute deviation of the calculated specific volumes from literature data was found to be 0.89?%. 相似文献

In this study, thermo‐physical properties including thermal conductivity, viscosity, density and specific heat capacity of an oil based nanofluid including silver as to be nanoparticles have been experimentally studied. The results indicate an enhancement in thermal conductivity which was depended on bulk temperature and volume fraction of utilized nanofluids. Viscosity data show a significant increment through volume fraction increasing. In addition, the specific heat capacity and density of nanofluids were studied experimentally and it was found that, all measured rheological properties of these nanofluids, were not in agreement to published correlations. 相似文献
