Reduction of flash generated in a gas vent is of great concern for manufacturers of electronic parts. The present study proposes a theoretical model for flash generation through consideration of flow characteristics in a gas vent. The model predicts the factors controlling flash, i.e., material parameters such as zero‐shear viscosity, crystallization temperature, thermal conductivity, and heat capacity, and process parameters such as injection and mold wall temperatures, packing pressure, and the clearance of a gas vent. On the other hand, we measure the amount of flash generated in the molding of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) composites containing glass fiber and spherical fillers (CaCO3 or Al2O3). Flash reduces with decreasing size of spherical fillers. These experimental data are successfully interpreted using the flash model. Polym. Eng. A number of studies concerning the analysis of axillary odors have assumed that the characteristic odor produced in the axillae is due to volatile steroids and isovaleric acid. Organoleptic evaluation of Chromatographic eluants from axillary extracts was employed to isolate the region in the chromatogram where the characteristic odor eluted. The odor of the dissolved eluant was eliminated when it was treated with base, suggesting that acids make up the characteristic axillary odor. Subsequent extraction of the pH-adjusted axillary extract in conjunction with organoleptic evaluation of the Chromatographic eluant, preparative gas chromatography, and analysis by GC-MS as well as GC-FTIR showed the presence of a number of C6 to C11 straight-chain, branched, and unsaturated acids as important contributors to the axillary odor. The major odor component is (E)-3-methyl-2-hexenoic acid. Three homologous series of minor components are also important odor contributors; these consist of the terminally unsaturated acids, the 2-methyl-C6 to -C10 acids and the 4-ethyl-C5 to -C11 acids. These types of acids have not been reported previously as components of the human axillary secretions and have not been proposed previously as part of the principal odor components in this area. 相似文献

The oxyntic, or parietal cell has two characteristic membrane systems. The mammalian intracellular canaliculi are specialized networks of narrow channels lined with numerous microvilli. The other common to all oxyntic cells is the tubulovesicles, a system of tubules and vesicles. The tubulovesicular compartment is drastically depleted during maximal gastric acid secretion and this is coincident with an increase in the cell surface membrane area. A plausible explanation of this process is the fusion and transfer of tubulovesicular membranes to the plasma membrane. However, for many years there was no convincing evidence of the connections between these two membrane systems. How the tubulovesicular membranes transform into plasma membrane without demonstrable connections has been an enigma to electron microscopists. Recent ultra-high resolution scanning electron microscopic observation on the rat oxyntic cell treated with aldehyde-osmium-aldehyde method revealed that in the resting stage, the tubulovesicles were isolated spherical vesicles. But after tetragastrin stimulation, they were interconnected by slender connecting tubules forming a tubulovesicular network. Then this network was fused to the intracellular canaliculus at relatively few points. These connections between the tubulovesicles and luminal surface membrane was also demonstrated in the frog oxynticopeptic cells. In this review, these membrane transformations as well as changes of the H+/K(+)-ATPase, the lectin binding glycocalyx and the cytoskeleton during secretion will be illustrated and discussed. 相似文献

The experiment would allow the examination of plasma focusing devices for particle beams in the parameter regime of interest to future high-energy colliders. A New Process to Make a Porous PTFE Structure from Aqueous PTFE Dispersion with the Help of Hydrogel
A novel method to make a porous material having relatively large cell diameter (200–300 m), which consisted of mainly poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE), was developed from aqueous PTFE dispersion by using the characteristics of hydrogel with the addition of carbon nanofiber (CNF). The porous material was produced as follows: firstly, an aqueous agar gel containing PTFE and CNF was prepared; secondly, the gel was freeze-dried; thirdly, the dried gel was heat-treated at 400°C where the agar was almost decomposed and PTFE became molten. The porous material showed electric conductivity (about 50 ), high porosity (about 96 vol%), and relatively uniform cell structures without shrinkage during freeze drying and heat treatment. While the method without CNF resulted in large shrinkage during heat treatment, meaning that CNF prevented the shrinkage. It was explained by the idea that the existence of rigid CNF, which was dispersed in the cell wall, prohibited the shrinkage of PTFE during heat treatment. It was unexpectedly found by SEM analysis that the porous materials had another macro-porous structure inside the cell wall, suggesting that the developed materials had a double porous structure. 相似文献

Summary: Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) particles with micro‐size ranges (0.15–2 μm) were prepared by emulsion and dispersion polymerizationa and in supercritical carbon dioxide media. The PAN particles were blended with Nylon 6 (PA6) at 220 °C by using a miniature mixer; it was found that melt‐mixing was possible for PAN‐rich compositions as high as 70 wt.‐%. Blends were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, IR, viscosity measurements, differential scanning calorimetry, and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA). The size and shape of original PAN particles were retained in PAN/PA6 blends. The useful range to blend PAN particles size was less than 1 μm in terms of shape retention of the PAN particles in blends. Blends with 40 wt.‐% PAN content were found to be melt‐processable. The elastic modulus was higher for PAN/PA6 blends than pure PA6.

Poly(L ‐lactic acid) (PLLA: Mw = 19.4 × 104)/poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG: Mw = 400) blend films were formed by use of a solvent‐cast technique. The properties and structures of these blend films were investigated. The Young's modulus of the PLLA decreased from 1220 to 417 MPa with the addition of PEG 5 wt %, but the elongation at break increased from 19 to 126%. The melting point of PLLA linearly decreased with increases in the PEG content (i.e., pure PLLA: 172.5°C, PLLA/PEG = 60/40 wt %: 159.6°C). The PEG 20 wt % blend film had a porous structure. In this paper, we analyze the effects of several factors and configuration choices encountered during training and model construction when we want to obtain better and more stable adaptation in HMM-based speech synthesis. We then propose a new adaptation algorithm called constrained structural maximum a posteriori linear regression (CSMAPLR) whose derivation is based on the knowledge obtained in this analysis and on the results of comparing several conventional adaptation algorithms. Here, we investigate six major aspects of the speaker adaptation: initial models; the amount of the training data for the initial models; the transform functions, estimation criteria, and sensitivity of several linear regression adaptation algorithms; and combination algorithms. Analyzing the effect of the initial model, we compare speaker-dependent models, gender-independent models, and the simultaneous use of the gender-dependent models to single use of the gender-dependent models. Analyzing the effect of the transform functions, we compare the transform function for only mean vectors with that for mean vectors and covariance matrices. Analyzing the effect of the estimation criteria, we compare the ML criterion with a robust estimation criterion called structural MAP. We evaluate the sensitivity of several thresholds for the piecewise linear regression algorithms and take up methods combining MAP adaptation with the linear regression algorithms. We incorporate these adaptation algorithms into our speech synthesis system and present several subjective and objective evaluation results showing the utility and effectiveness of these algorithms in speaker adaptation for HMM-based speech synthesis. 相似文献
