The mechanical properties of a medium molecular weight polyethylene (MMW‐PE) and an ultrahigh molecular weight PE (UHMW‐PE) binary mixture with different weight fractions crystallized from the melt at 0.1 and 450 MPa were studied. The tensile modulus, yield stress, and strain were obtained as a function of the weight fractions in the PE mixtures at 25 and 85°C. The tensile modulus in the sample crystallized at 0.1 MPa decreased from 1.5 GPa of pure MMW‐PE to about 0.4 GPa of pure UHMW‐PE with the UHMW‐PE content but it did not decrease with the UHMW‐PE in the sample crystallized at 450 MPa in testing at 25°C. A decreasing rate of the storage modulus E′ of UHMW‐PE in a dynamic measurement for the sample crystallized at 0.1 MPa with the temperature is larger than that of the sample crystallized at 450 MPa. An organic aqueous solution of metal acetylacetonate precursors was subjected to spray pyrolysis in order to fabricate SrAl2 O4 :Eu (SAO) nanoparticles. Non-agglomerated luminescent SAO nanoparticles, having a spherical shape with a size of 10–30 nm, were achieved in a single step, while only submicrometer-sized SAO particles were obtained from the conventional ultrasonic pyrolysis of the metal nitrates. Without any post-annealing process, the as-prepared SAO nanoparticles were observed to exhibit a strong photoluminescence, which is comparable with that of the submicrometer-sized SAO particles. A mechanism for the formation of the nanoparticles is also discussed. 相似文献

The potential protection of Picea glehnii seedlings from damping-off by seed-epiphytic Penicillium species was investigated. We studied the chemical response of seed-epiphytic Penicillium species (Pen. cyaneum, Pen. damascenum, and Pen. implicatum) to Pythium vexans, a damping-off fungus, in vitro. Penicillium species were cultured singly or cocultured with Pyt. vexans for 14 or 18 d, and mycelial growth, pH of culture filtrate, antifungal activity of the culture filtrate against Pyt. vexans, and the amount of antifungal compound produced by each Penicillium species, were examined. The filtrate of both the single culture of Penicillium and the coculture of Penicillium and Pyt. vexans showed antifungal activity against Pyt. vexans. In a coculture with Pyt. vexans, Pen. cyaneum produced an antifungal compound (patulin) as in the single culture. Pen. damascenum cocultured with Pyt. vexans produced an antifungal compound (citrinin), as it did in the single culture and in larger amounts on day 10. Pen. implicatum produced two antifungal compounds, frequentin and palitantin, and the ratio of frequentin (with higher antifungal activity than palitantin) to palitantin was higher in the coculture with Pyt. vexans than in the single culture. Our results indicate that these Penicillium species have the ability to produce antifungal compounds and to keep antifungal activity under competitive condition with Pyt. vexans. The chemical response of these Penicillium species to Pyt. vexans may contribute to protect P. glehnii seedlings from damage by Pyt. vexans. 相似文献

Abstract Under 24-GHz millimetre-wave irradiation heating ionic conductivity of zirconia base ceramics was up to 20 times higher than that of a conventionally-heated sample at the same temperature of 400 °C. The degree of enhancement could be altered by changing the stabilising atom from Y to Yb. Enhancement of ionic conduction was prominent in the setup condition of larger self-heating ratio and larger MMW absorbing materials. The isothermal improvement of ionic conductivity under MMW irradiation would be ascribed to the non-thermal effect. 相似文献

Sweet enhancing effect of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (NHDC) or cyclamate has been reported to be synergistic in human sensory tests. However, little is known about whether these synergisms are caused by the mechanism mediated by the human sweet-taste receptor. Here, we examined the sweetness intensity of sweet tastant mixtures by measuring the responses of cultured cells stably expressing the human sweet-taste receptor. The results showed that the cell response to sucrose was synergistically potentiated by the addition of NHDC or cyclamate. Moreover, a point mutation in the transmembrane domain of hT1R3 almost completely eliminated the enhancing effects of NHDC and cyclamate. These results suggest that ligand–receptor interactions in the transmembrane domain of hT1R3 are necessary for NHDC and cyclamate to elicit the synergistic potentiation of the receptor activation. Our results may provide the foundation of a molecular basis for receptor-based synergisms of sweet tastes in mixtures of diverse sweet substances. 相似文献

Solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiencies of water-splitting photochathodes using epitaxially grown p-type 4H-, 6H- and 3C-SiC were estimated in a two-electrode system without applying any external bias. By using electrode materials with small oxygen overpotentials as counter electrodes, the photocurrent became comparable to that observed in a three-electrode system with a suitable bias. Estimated efficiencies seem to depend on the bandgap of the SiC polytypes. For the 3C-SiC, the obtained efficiency was 0.38%, which is so far the highest value reported for SiC. We confirmed that the hydrogen volumes estimated from the photocurrent were almost the same as actual volumes observed by gas chromatography. 相似文献

To develop a soft meat product for a dysphagia diet, high-pressure technology was applied. Pressure-heat-treated ground pork meat (PH) was prepared from ground pork mixed with water (ground meat: water, 1:0.5 or 1:1) and salt (1.5%). PH-gels were made from these meat homogenates by treatment at 400 MPa for 20 min, followed by heat treatment. Heat-treated pork meat homogenates (H) were also prepared. The hardness and adhesiveness of the 1:1PH-gel was lower than those of the 1:1H-gel. The PH-gel scored higher in sensory evaluations of elasticity, smoothness and ease of swallowing. Scanning electron micrographs indicated that the superior textural property of the 1:1PH-gel was caused by a network of myosin filaments. Videofluoroscopic examination of swallowing revealed that the 1:1PH-gel was easy to swallow and left little residue in the oropharynx. These results proved the utility of pressurization in creating a dysphagia meat diet. 相似文献
