Backward proton and pion production is studied in ν and \(\bar v\) charged current interactions in neon. The results are compared with other experiments and theory. The complete backward proton data is compatible with protons produced by reinteractions in the nucleus. However in events with only one proton, muon variables appear correlated to those for the backward proton, as expected by the two-nucleon correlation model.  相似文献

The effect of basis set contraction and elimination of primitive Gaussian orbitals on the He2 interaction energy components have been studied within the SCF counterpoise corrected approach supplemented by a dispersion term calculated within the variation-perturbation scheme. Despite elimination of almost half of the primitive Gaussian functions from the saturated sp basis set and complete contraction of the remaining ones, the components of interaction energy in He2 suffer a remarkably small loss of accuracy except for the short range charge transfer contribution.  相似文献

A simple procedure to decompose the theoretical molecular charge distribution into cumulative atomic multipoles supplementing any population analysis scheme has been described and tested for a number of molecules in extended basis sets. This approach may be applied to describe local charge distributions in neutral as well as charged systems and also leads to a simplified point-charge model conserving the local anisotropy of the atomic charge distribution in molecules. Such an approach may be useful in estimating intermolecular interactions, representing the molecular environment in solvent effect or enzyme catalytic activity studies, evaluation of molecular electrostatic potentials or tracing the quality of basis set functions.  相似文献

The F3CCl?FH and F3CCl?FCH3 dimers, which feature the halogen–halogen contacts, are investigated at MP2/6–311++G(d,p) and MP2/aug–cc–pVDZ levels of approximation. The binding energies of these complexes are found to be comparable to those of the weak hydrogen bonds. In both complexes the Cl?F are found to be significantly shorter than the sum of the corresponding van der Waals radii. The C–Cl?F contacts are also found to exhibit certain deviation from linearity. However, the energy differences between linear and bent structures are very small and primarily accounted for by electrostatic interactions between remote parts of the dimer. This indicates a high conformational flexibility of the halogen–halogen contacts and may help to explain the diversity of structural features in crystals formed by halogen-containing molecules. In both dimers the halogen–halogen interaction leads to certain shortening of the C–Cl electron accepting bond. This is accompanied by a small increase of the C–Cl stretching frequency. Hence, the two investigated dimers can possibly be classified as the blue-shifting halogen–halogen contacts.  相似文献

Chorismate mutase is a key model system in the development of theories of enzyme catalysis. To analyze the physical nature of catalytic interactions within the enzyme active site and to estimate the stabilization of the transition state (TS) relative to the substrate (differential transition state stabilization, DTSS), we have carried out nonempirical variation-perturbation analysis of the electrostatic, exchange, delocalization, and correlation interactions of the enzyme-bound substrate and transition-state structures derived from ab initio QM/MM modeling of Bacillus subtilis chorismate mutase. Significant TS stabilization by approximately -23 kcal/mol [MP2/6-31G(d)] relative to the bound substrate is in agreement with that of previous QM/MM modeling and contrasts with suggestions that catalysis by this enzyme arises purely from conformational selection effects. The most important contributions to DTSS come from the residues, Arg90, Arg7, Glu78, a crystallographic water molecule, Arg116, and Arg63, and are dominated by electrostatic effects. Analysis of the differential electrostatic potential of the TS and substrate allows calculation of the catalytic field, predicting the optimal location of charged groups to achieve maximal DTSS. Comparison with the active site of the enzyme from those of several species shows that the positions of charged active site residues correspond closely to the optimal catalytic field, showing that the enzyme has evolved specifically to stabilize the TS relative to the substrate.  相似文献

Properties of six derivatives of 1-trifluoroacetylbenzene: [4-(n-butyl)- (1), 4-(n-hexadecyl)- (2), 4-dodecyloxy- (3), 4-(n-dodecylsulfonyl)- (4), N,N-dioctyl-4-trifluoroacetylbenzamide (5), octyl-p-trifluoroacetylbenzoate (6)] as neutral carriers for carbonate ion were examined and compared. The sensitivity towards carbonate ion was for (3) pH dependent. This eliminates (3) from practical applications in clinical analysis. When measuring CO(3)(2-) within the physiological range of human blood using as carriers compounds 1 and 2 the interference of chloride must be taken into account. In the case of carriers 4, 5, 6 this effect is negligible. Electrodes with membranes containing as carriers 2, 4, 5 and 6 were tested in an automatic potentiometric clinical analyser Microlyte 6, KONE. To avoid contamination by atmospheric CO(2) of three aqueous standards (TES, NaCl, NaHCO(3)), pH was adjusted by coulomeric generation of H(+) or OH(-) in a system devoid of carbon dioxide. Recovery of HCO(3)(-) calculated from measured CO(3)(2-) and pH, was investigated in a series of aqueous solutions and spiked bovine serum samples. The correlation between added and recovered concentration of HCO(3)(-) was linear with the intercept close to 0 and slope equal to 1 in aqueous solutions for all ligands and in bovine serum samples only in the case of ligand (2).  相似文献

Interaction energies of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) active site residues with a series of PAL inhibitors have been partitioned into electrostatic, exchange, delocalization, and correlation components and compared with analogous results obtained previously for leucine aminopeptidase (LAP). In the latter metalloenzyme, either of the two charged residues controls entirely relative inhibitor binding energies, while at least four residues are required to determine ligand relative stabilization in neutral PAL. Significant correlation with experimental inhibitory activity was found between the stabilization energy at gradually decreasing levels of theory (MP2, SCF) down to the first-order Heitler-London term. Contrary to the LAP case, where the electrostatic term was sufficient to reproduce experimentally observed trends, in the case of PAL, exchange repulsion effects also have to be considered. Computational protocol presented herein constitutes a promising way to incorporate the first principle calculation's accuracy into the process of rational binding affinity prediction, revealing the physical nature of the interactions, where successive approximations can be introduced in a systematic and justifiable manner.  相似文献
