Design, synthesis, and properties of neoglycolipids based on ethylene glycoles conjugated with lactose as components of targeted delivery systems of biologically active compounds

Synthesis has been developed of a series of new aliphatic lactose derivatives as components of liposomal targeted delivery systems distinguished by the length and the number of aliphatic chains and also by the length of the spacer fragment. The structure of compounds synthesized has been established by means of 1H NMR spectroscopy.     

Design and synthesis of an octavalent bolaamphiphile with terminal lactose residues

The synthesis of an octavalent bolaamphiphile with D-glucose moiety as branching unit has been designed and accomplished via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of bis(tetra-O-propargylglucoside) and 8 equiv of 2-azidoethyl β-D-lactoside.     

Synthesis of neoglycolipids based on D-lactose

A synthesis was performed of amphiphilic D-lactose derivatives differing by the length and number of aliphatic chains. The compounds may be applied to the carbohydrate modification of phosphatidylcholine liposomes.     

Multifunctional Lipoamino Acid Derivatives with Potential Biological Activity

This work aims to develop a number of multifunctional derivatives of lipoamino acids, which potentially have different biological activities. To achieve this aim, the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance for a number of cationic amphiphile structures based on L-glutamic acid and short diamines is theoretically calculated. The developed schemes and performed synthesis allowed us to produce preparative sample quantities for further physicochemical and biological tests. The performed calculations, measurements, and experiments on the liposomal dispersions of the synthesized compounds demonstrate the possibility of designing the same type of structures of an amphiphilic nature based on aliphatic amino acid derivatives and diamines, which can be used both in antibacterial therapy and as the delivery vehicles for genetic material.     

The stereoselective synthesis of highly functionalized tertiary 3-aminoindoles/anilines or dihydropyrroles from C-(3-indolyl)-N-aryl and C,N-diaryl nitrones

We report on the novel properties of nitrones including their transformations via reactions with sodium malonates to give functionalized stereodefined derivatives of tertiary 3-aminoindoles or anilines, as well as fully-substituted dihydropyrroles. The outcome of the reactions is dependent mainly upon the nature of the starting C-nitrone substituent and solvent used. The formation of a new carbon-nitrogen bond in the obtained amines occurs via a nucleophilic 1,2-aryl/3-indolyl shift from C to the adjacent nitrogen.     

Synthesis of deuterated derivative of β-D-glucopyranosyl 1-cetyl phosphate

Conclusions The deuterated derivative of -D-glucopyranosyl 1-cetyl phosphate was synthesized by opening the 1,2-alkyl orthoacetate of D-glucose.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 11, pp. 2628–2629, November, 1979.
