Critical heat load upon pool liquid boiling

The theoretical derivation of the formula for calculating heat load, given in the treatise titled “The Theory of Heat and Mass Transfer” (edited by A.I. Leont’ev, Bauman State Technical University, Moscow, 1997) is noted to be incorrect. A corrected deduction of the formula, performed using the dimensional method, is considered. A brief review of the whole problem is given. It is noted that the “second crisis of boiling” is due to the effect of the “spheroidal” state in liquids.     

Low-frequency oscillations of the plasma of a circular discharge in crossed electric and magnetic fields

Low-frequency oscillations in a circular discharge plasma are studied experimentally. Values of the magnetic field corresponding to the generation and collapse of ionization oscillations are determined. An analysis of plasma stability in the absence of ionization equilibrium is conducted. Isolated Hypersurface Singularities and Special Polynomial Realizations of Affine Quadrics

Let V, $\tilde{V}$ be hypersurface germs in ? ^m , each having a quasi-homogeneous isolated singularity at the origin. We show that the biholomorphic equivalence problem for V, $\tilde{V}$ reduces to the linear equivalence problem for certain polynomials P, $\tilde{P}$ arising from the moduli algebras of V, $\tilde{V}$ . The polynomials P, $\tilde{P}$ are completely determined by their quadratic and cubic terms, hence the biholomorphic equivalence problem for V, $\tilde{V}$ in fact reduces to the linear equivalence problem for pairs of quadratic and cubic forms.     

Affine and Holomorphic Equivalence of Tube Domains in ℂ2

It is shown that, except for several explicitly described cases, two hyperbolic tube domains in $\mathbb{C}^2 $ are biholomorphically equivalent if and only if they are affinely equivalent.     

Holomorphic equivalence of tube domains in ℂ2

It is proved that, except in a few explicitly described cases, two connected tube domains in ?² are biholomorphically equivalent if and only if they are affinely equivalent.     

Pseudoholomorphic discs attached to CR-submanifolds of almost complex spaces
