The effects of type of PVC and its thermal history on solvent sorption behaviour were investigated. Samples were immersed in toluene at 25°C, and the equilibrium solvent uptake and sorption half-times were measured for a variety of samples. The shape of the sorption curve was also observed. Equilibrium sorption was found to decrease with increasing amount of crystallinity in the sample. Sorption half-time increased with increased crystallinity, but minimum equilibrium sorption did not correspond with maximum half-time, possibly due to the type of crystallinity present. The shape of the sorption curve (Fickian or Case II sorption) also depended on the ype of PVC used and is thermal history. The solvent sorption technique was shown to be a sensitive method for detecting small structural changes in PVC. 相似文献

Thin‐film transistors can be used as high‐performance bioelectronic devices to accomplish tasks such as sensing or controlling the release of biological species as well as transducing the electrical activity of cells or even organs, such as the brain. Organic, graphene, or zinc oxide are used as convenient printable semiconducting layers and can lead to high‐performance low‐cost bioelectronic sensing devices that are potentially very useful for point‐of‐care applications. Among others, electrolyte‐gated transistors are of interest as they can be operated as capacitance‐modulated devices, because of the high capacitance of their charge double layers. Specifically, it is the capacitance of the biolayer, being lowest in a series of capacitors, which controls the output current of the device. Such an occurrence allows for extremely high sensitivity towards very weak interactions. All the aspects governing these processes are reviewed here. 相似文献

The thermoluminescence of x-irradiated CaSO4: Dy phosphors has been studied for diverse activator concentrations. The concentration-dependence of these phosphors on the
increase of glow peak intensities has been found to be remarkable. For higher concentration of dysprosium the concentration
quenching effect has been observed. This has been attributed to the resonant transfer of energy from one activator atom to
another, bringing the possible migration of energy in a solid, which is likely to get dissipated without luminescence, at
the quenching site itself. The effect of irradiation time on the glow peak intensities reveals the initial linearity and a
subsequent decrease indicating the possible radiation damage. The role of Na2SO4 as a charge compensator has been studied in detail. An attempt has been made to unravel the type of kinetics involved in
the process, by calculating the activation energies by different methods. It has been concluded that the type of kinetics
involved in the process is bimolecular. 相似文献

A novel ligand-free, highly efficient, and an inexpensive method has been developed by using ecofriendly, heterogeneous reusable copper fluorapatite (CuFAP) catalyst for the synthesis of diaryl ethers from the cross coupling reaction of the various substituted aryl halides (fluoride, chloride, bromide, and iodide) with the potassium salts of various substituted phenols in the presence of N-methyl 2-pyrrolidone (NMP) as a solvent at 120 °C. The protocol obtained the corresponding cross coupling products in good to excellent yield. The CuFAP catalyst was recovered by simple filtration from the reaction mixture and reused several times without the loss of catalytic activity. 相似文献

Crystalline flowerlike ZnO was synthesized by an aminolytic reaction at the air-liquid interface in an aqueous media at an alkaline pH. A thin visible film was formed at the air-liquid interface by self-assembly of flowerlike ZnO. Diffraction studies show rearrangement of the single crystalline units at the air-liquid interface leading to the formation of nanobelts. These nanobelts overlap systematically to form petals of the flowerlike structure; individual petals get curved with time. Each nanobelt is found to be single crystalline and can be indexed as the hexagonal ZnO phase. The organic product formed in the aminolytic reaction and dissolution-reprecipitation mechanism is the driving force for the formation of flowerlike ZnO at the air-liquid interface. A clear relationship between the surface, photocatalytic, and photoluminescent properties of ZnO is observed. The flowerlike structure exhibits a blue shift (3.56 eV) in the band emission as compared to bulk ZnO (3.37 eV). The photodegradation of methylene blue over the flowerlike ZnO catalyst formed at the air-liquid interface and in the sediments shows enhanced photocatalytic activity. The sub-bands formed due to surface defects facilitate separation of charge carriers increasing their lifetime, leading to enhanced photocatalytic activity of flowerlike ZnO. 相似文献

Nanocrystalline Li0.5Fe2.5−xCrxO4 (2.5≤x≥0) ferrites were prepared by a sol-gel autocombustion route. X-ray diffraction was employed to confirm the cubic spinel phase formation of the ferrites. The lattice parameter decreases with increase in Cr content. The saturation magnetization, coercivity and remanance were studied as a function of Cr content. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss were measured as a function of frequency in the frequency range 20 Hz-1 MHz. Frequency dependence of dielectric constant shows dielectric dispersion due to the Maxwell-Wagner type of interfacial polarization. In order to understand the conduction mechanism, complex impedance measurements were carried out. The substitution of chromium plays an important role in changing the dielectric and magnetic properties of lithium ferrites. 相似文献

Tin oxide submicronwires doped with Fe element were prepared by the thermal evaporation method. Morphological and structural characterizations revealed wires with sub micron size and crystalline in nature. The field electron emission from the single Fe:SnO2 wire was carried out in conventional field emission microscope. The Fowler–Nordheim plot obtained from I–V characteristics of the wire showed a linear behavior typical that of metal. The field enhancement factor estimated from the slope of the F–N plot is 7455 cm?1, indicating that the field emission is from nanometric features of the emitter. A current density of 10 A/cm2 has been obtained at an applied field of 4.845 × 103 V/μm. The field emission current–time record at a current level of 1 μA for more than 3 h duration is promising for various field emissions based applications. 相似文献
