Adsorption and Electrochemical Behavior of Cobalt Tetra(p-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin at Anisotropic Pyrographite

The electrochemical behavior and electrocatalytic activity of cobalt tetra(p-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin (CoTMPP) adsorbed at anisotropic pyrographite in the reaction of oxygen electroreduction in 0.5 M H₂SO₄ is studied by cyclic voltammetry. Dependences of voltammogram parameters (currents and potentials of maximums of the Co^3+/2+TMPP redox reaction, numbers of adsorbed and working molecules, values of uncompensated layer resistance) on the adsorbate concentration (10^–6 to 10^–3 M) in chloroform are analyzed. It is concluded that adsorbed molecules change their orientation from a flat to an inclined position at c _CoMPP> 5 × 10^–5 M. The optimum, as to the effectiveness of CoTMPP in the oxygen reduction, is the adsorption layer thickness close to the thickness of a monolayer of flatly-oriented molecules.

Influence of nucleus motion on the fine structure of a hydrogen-like atom with unequal particle masses

Small-angle X-ray scattering study of the influence of solvent replacement (from H<Subscript>2</Subscript>O to D<Subscript>2</Subscript>O) on the initial crystallization stage of tetragonal lysozyme

The composition of lysozyme solutions in D₂O under conditions favorable for the formation of tetragonal crystals has been investigated at different protein concentrations by small-angle X-ray scattering using the synchrotron radiation. In addition to lysozyme monomers, dimeric and octameric species are found in the crystallization solutions; the octamer content increases with an increase in the protein concentration. A comparison of the data with those obtained under similar conditions but with H₂O used as a solvent has shown that the replacement of light water with heavy one leads to increase of octamer volume fraction in solution.     

Isolation,NMR spectroscopy,and conformational analysis of the antibiotic ina 2770 (cineromycin B) produced by <Emphasis Type="Italic">Streptomyces</Emphasis> strain

The antibiotic INA 2770 active against methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was biotechnologically produced and isolated. This antibiotic is identical to cineromycin B. The characteristic features of the ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectra of this compound were studied for the first time, and the conformational analysis was carried out by computational methods (molecular mechanics (MM3) force field) and using nuclear Overhauser effect experiments.
