Expressing the equivalence of non‐isothermal and isothermal heat sterilization processes

Currently, the sterility of heat‐processed food and pharmaceuticals is assessed in terms of an F₀ value, based on the equivalence of the heat treatment to an isothermal process at a reference temperature. This F₀ value, however, has a meaning if, and only if, the inactivation kinetics of the targeted spores (or cells) follow a first‐order relationship and the temperature dependence of the D value, the reciprocal of the rate constant, is log‐linear. There is growing evidence that these conditions are not satisfied by many spores, including those of Clostridium botulinum and vegetative cells. Consequently, a replacement for the F₀ value is proposed in the form of a momentary equivalent time at the reference temperature based on the actual survival pattern of the spores, which need not be log‐linear. This equivalent time can be calculated together with the theoretical survival ratio in real time, thus enabling an operator to monitor the lethality of ongoing industrial heat processes. The concept is demonstrated with published survival data of C. botulinum, for which the Weibullian and log‐logistic models served as primary and secondary models, respectively. The safety factor according to the proposed method is in the number of added minutes of processing, beyond the theoretical time needed to reduce the survival ratio of the targeted spores or cells to a level that would produce practical (or commercial) sterility. Ethics is fragile,goodness is not

This paper first illustrates what kind of ethical issues arise from the new information, communication and automation technology. It then argues that we may embrace the popular idea that technology is ethically neutral or even ambivalent without having to close our eyes to those issues and in fact, that the ethical neutrality of technology makes them all the more urgent. Finally, it suggests that the widely ignored fact of normal responsible behaviour offers a new and fruitful starting point for any future thinking about such issues.     

车载自组网中一种支持群签名认证的分布式密钥管理方案

群签名具备良好的匿名认证特性,满足车载自组网信息安全和隐私保护需求。但是,其作废开销较大,不适于在大规模网络环境中应用。为此,本文提出了一种支持群签名认证的分布式密钥管理方案DKM,将车载自组网的覆盖区域划分为若干子区域,车辆周期性地从所在子区域的群管理机构更新群密钥。这样,作废某个成员只需要在其拥有合法密钥的子区域内通告,而不是整个网络,有利于降低作废开销。同时,DKM中的密钥更新机制能够保证车辆的群密钥的私密性,从而避免了车辆与区域群管理机构的授权争议,保持了数字签名的不可否认性。性能分析表明DKM能够显著缩短作废列表长度,同时没有增加认证开销。     

基于BC聚类的差分隐私保护推荐算法

为提高差分隐私保护下推荐算法的准确性,提出了一种考虑差分隐私保护的基于Bhattacharyya系数（BC）的聚类推荐算法.以BC作为项目相似性度量的标准,根据BC相似性对项目进行K-medoids聚类,并在聚类簇中进行私有项目邻居选择.最后,根据最近邻居集信息,对用户的评分进行预测和Top-n推荐.提出的方案有效地克服了已有方法中存在的相似性度量依赖于共同评分的问题,提高了相似性度量的准确性,有效避免了因隐私保护而造成的最近邻居集质量下降的问题.理论分析和实验测试的结果表明,该方法在实现隐私保护的同时还能有效保证推荐的高质量,较好地实现了隐私保护和数据效用之间的平衡,具有良好的应用潜力.     

智能温度控制仪在铝电解铸造保温炉上的应用

简要介绍了KX-C智能温控仪的性能、特点;结合铝电解铸造保温炉的控制要求,阐述了KX-C智能温控仪对保温炉的恒温控制过程。应用表明,该仪器由于具有控制准确、动作灵敏、接线简单、无需校准、成本较低、可靠性高、无需维护等优点,可很好满足实际生产的要求。     

羧甲基甲壳素对猕猴桃、杨桃的保鲜性能

研究了水溶性甲壳素衍生物—羧甲基甲壳素(O6CMCH)对猕猴桃和杨桃的保鲜性能。结果表明,常温下,使用O6CMCH可使猕猴桃和杨桃的保鲜时间达5～12d。猕猴桃的最佳保鲜配方为:w(羧甲基甲壳素)=2%、w(甘油)=1%、w(对羟基苯甲酸甲酯)=1%;杨桃的最佳保鲜配方为:w(羧甲基甲壳素)=2%、w(单硬脂酸甘油酯)=1%、w(苯甲酸钠)=1%。扫描电镜分析表明,最佳配方上的差异与果实的表皮结构及涂膜的结构有关。     

杀菌型双吸剂的制备与性质研究

用可以同时吸氧气与二氧化碳的双吸剂和挥发性抑菌剂富马酸单甲酯(MMF)复合成新型食品保鲜剂,能抑制30多种常见的霉菌等生物的生长,以可抗氧化变质和二氧化碳的影响。可用于粮食、蔬菜水果、干果、药物等的保质储存,改善了单纯双吸剂的保鲜性能,延长了食品的保鲜期。     

Aligning principal and agent’s incentives: A principal–agent perspective of social networking sites

The viability of networked communities depends on the creation and disclosure of user-generated content and the frequency of user visitation (Facebook 10-K Annual Report, 2012). However, little is known about how to align the interests of user and social networking sites. In this study, we draw upon the principal-agent perspective to extend Pavlou et al.’s uncertainty mitigation model of online exchange relationships (2007) and propose an empirically tested model for aligning the incentives of the principal (user) and the agent (service provider). As suggested by Pavlou et al., we incorporated a multi-dimensional measure of trust: trust of provider and trust of members. The proposed model is empirically tested with survey data from 305 adults aged 20-55. The results support our model, delineating how real individuals with bounded rationality actually make decision about information disclosure under uncertainty in the social networking site context. There is show little to no relationship between online privacy concerns and information disclosure on online social network sites. Perceived benefits provide the linkage between the incentives of principal (user) and agent (provider) while usage intensity demonstrated the most significant impact on information disclosure. We argue that the phenomenon may be explained through Communication Privacy Management Theory. The present study enhances our understanding of agency theory and human judgment theory in the context of social media. Practical implications for understanding and facilitating online social exchange relationships are also discussed.
