During the milling operation, the cutting forces will induce vibration on the cutting tool, the workpiece, and the fixtures, which will affect the surface integrity of the final part and consequently the product's quality. In this paper, a generic and improved model is introduced to simultaneously predict the conventional cutting forces along with 3D surface topography during side milling operation. The model incorporates the effects of tool runout, tool deflection, system dynamics, flank face wear, and the tool tilting on the surface roughness. An improved technique to calculate the instantaneous chip thickness is also presented. The model predictions on cutting forces and surface roughness and topography agreed well with experimental results. 相似文献

Despite the successes in the last two decades, the state-of-the-art face detectors still have problems in dealing with images in the wild due to large appearance variations. Instead of leaving appearance variations directly to statistical learning algorithms, we propose a hierarchical part based structural model to explicitly capture them. The model enables part subtype option to handle local appearance variations such as closed and open month, and part deformation to capture the global appearance variations such as pose and expression. In detection, candidate window is fitted to the structural model to infer the part location and part subtype, and detection score is then computed based on the fitted configuration. In this way, the influence of appearance variation is reduced. Besides the face model, we exploit the co-occurrence between face and body, which helps to handle large variations, such as heavy occlusions, to further boost the face detection performance. We present a phrase based representation for body detection, and propose a structural context model to jointly encode the outputs of face detector and body detector. Benefit from the rich structural face and body information, as well as the discriminative structural learning algorithm, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on FDDB, AFW and a self-annotated dataset, under wide comparisons with commercial and academic methods. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose an album-oriented face-recognition model that exploits the album structure for face recognition in online social networks. Albums, usually associated with pictures of a small group of people at a certain event or occasion, provide vital information that can be used to effectively reduce the possible list of candidate labels. We show how this intuition can be formalized into a model that expresses a prior on how albums tend to have many pictures of a small number of people. We also show how it can be extended to include other information available in a social network. Using two real-world datasets independently drawn from Facebook, we show that this model is broadly applicable and can significantly improve recognition rates. 相似文献

In this work a simple method to solve the forward displacement analysis of the general 6-6 fully parallel manipulator is applied. The method is based on generating closure equations upon the unknown coordinates of three points embedded to the moving platform. This paper addresses the problem of defining a simple End-Effector design for a robotic arm that is able to grasp a given set of planar objects. The OCOG (Objects COmmon Grasp search) algorithm proposed in this paper searches for a common grasp over the set of objects mapping all possible grasps for each object that satisfy force closure and quality criteria by taking into account the external wrenches (forces and torque) applied to the object. The mapped grasps are represented by feature vectors in a high-dimensional space. This feature vector describes the design of the gripper. A database is generated for all possible grasps for each object in the feature vector space. A search algorithm is then used for intersecting all possible grasps over all parts and finding a common grasp suitable for all objects. The search algorithm utilizes the kd-tree index structure for representing the database of the sets of feature vectors. The kd-tree structure enables an efficient and low cost nearest-neighbor search for common vectors between the sets. Each common vector found (feature vector) is the grasp configuration for a group of objects, which implies the future end-effector design. The final step classifies the grasps found to subsets of the objects, according to the common vectors found. Simulations and experiments are presented for four objects to validate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
