Important features of Iris OSQL

OSQL is the object-oriented database language developed for the Iris object-oriented database management system at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. Its three fundamental constructs are objects, types, and functions. This paper provides an overview of the underlying concepts and some important features of OSQL.     

聚乙烯醇膜的阻醇及导电性能(Ⅱ)戊二醛交联聚乙烯醇膜

为提高直接甲醇燃料电池(DMFC)用膜的阻醇性能，采用在渗透蒸发领域广泛使用且具有良好分离效果的聚乙烯醇(PVA)为主要材料，制备了戊二醛(GA)交联PVA膜，考察了此类膜的阻醇及质子导电能力。PVA(GA)膜的阻醇效果较目前在DMFC中广泛使用的Nation膜有显著提高，但其自身不具有质子导电能力，需外加电解质溶液以提高其电导率。     

Design and application of functional absorbers

This paper gives an overview of the research at Institute of Acoustics, Tongji University, on functional absorbers and experience acquired in practical applications over the past three decades. Experiments and analysis of the absorption characteristics of three different geometrical forms of functional absorbers, i.e., panels, cubes and tubes, were conducted with different arrangements. The resulting esthetical effects are illustrated with pictures. Several non-fiber materials are used to compose functional absorbers with advantages both in acoustic properties and in architectural features. Cost effectiveness analysis is also given in order to provide design guidelines.     

骑马岭水电站砂石加工系统规划设计

介绍了骑马岭水电站砂石加工系统的料源规划、系统规划设计、系统工艺流程及环保措施。该加工系统采用的典型的二段破碎工艺，对中小型水电站混凝土骨料生产系统的设计具有一定的参考价值。同时，该加工系统在废水处理水回收利用及细砂与石粉回收、防尘、降低噪声，以及固体废弃物处置等方面，均采取了相应的环保措施，以减少其对施工人员和周围环境的影响。     

Functional copolymer of geraniol and acrylonitrile: Synthesis and characterization

The radical copolymerization of acyclic terpene namely geraniol [GER] with acrylonitrile [AN] in DMF at (70 ± 0.1)°C for 1 h, using benzoylperoxide (BPO) as an initiator has been carried out under inert atmosphere of nitrogen. The kinetic expression for reaction is R_p ∝ [BPO]^0.5 [AN]^1.0 [GER]^1.0. The IR spectrum of the copolymer shows bands at 3432 and at 2244 cm^?1 due to ? OH group of GER and ? CN group of AN, respectively. The ¹³C‐NMR spectrum shows peaks at 73–75 δ ppm and 116–120 δ ppm due to ? OH group of GER and ? CN group of AN, respectively. The thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry study shows that copolymer is thermally stable up to 407°C and has glass transition temperatures (T_g) 56°C. The reactivity ratios r₁ (AN) and r₂ (GER) have been calculated as 0.05 and 0.005, respectively. The Alfrey‐Price Q‐e parameter for GER has been calculated as 0.094 and ?2.0, respectively. The molecular weights of the copolymers have been evaluated by gel‐permeation chromatography. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2008     

Distinctive Features of Minimization of a Risk Functional in Mass Data Sets

A statistical learning model is considered within the framework of the theory of uniform convergence of frequencies of errors in the case where the convergence is violated as a result of increasing the informativeness of training examples. Drawbacks of nonconstructive refinements of Vapnik-Chervonenkis estimates based on an assumption on the distribution law of violations are shown. A new approach to obtaining constructive estimates for mass data sets is proposed.     

再生骨料绿化混凝土的研究

本文主要介绍了绿化混凝土的概念、分类,绿化混凝土构筑适合于植物生长环境的措施。通过对再生骨料绿化混凝土的原材料和配合比试验以及物理力学性能及耐久性能试验,为进一步的工程应用提供了可靠的依据。     

Use of zeolite-rich rocks and waste materials for the production of structural lightweight concretes

This paper aims at testing the use of mixtures constituted by natural zeolitized products and SiC-bearing industrial wastes (sludge deriving from polishing of porcelain stoneware tiles, hereafter DPM) for the production of lightweight expanded aggregates as constituents of structural and/or thermo-insulating lightweight concretes. Two commercial products have been used as zeolite natural source: Cab70 (Yellow facies of Campanian Ignimbrite) and IZclino (Turkish clinoptilolite-rich epiclastite). Different amounts of a calcareous material (Pozzano limestones — hereafter CP) from the Sorrento peninsula (Naples — Italy) were also added to a Cab70–DPM mixture. All raw materials were characterized by means of mineralogical (XRPD) and chemical (XRF) analyses. All the products and mixtures were tested from a technological point of view by means of fusibility and firing tests in order to evaluate the expanding properties. It was evidenced that the expansion of the mixture was deeply depending on the occurrence of SiC in the industrial waste. The addition of CP (10 wt.%) to the mixtures accounts for an even increased expansion, though this is accompanied by a worsening of the mechanical features of the material.These results along with literature data allowed to select 3 mixtures (70% Cab70–30% DPM, 70% IZclino–30% DPM, 60% Cab70–30% DPM–10% CP) and each of them was used for the preparation of 5 l of lightweight aggregates afterward employed for the manufacture of lightweight concretes. It was remarked that natural zeolitized materials mixed with DPM (30 wt.%) can provide lightweight aggregates with densities ranging between 0.8 and 1.0 g/cm³ suitable for the preparation of structural lightweight concretes. The addition to the mixture of CP (10 wt.%) produces less dense aggregates (0.6–0.7 g/cm³) potentially useful for the manufacture of thermo insulating lightweight concretes.

Density functional theory studies of Cu-zeolite de-NOx catalysts

Summary Recent progress in the modelling of exchanged Cu sites and their interactions with small molecules, based on DFT cluster calculations, is briefly reviewed.
