基于VBA学位论文格式模板的设计

学位论文在高校教学中占举足轻重的地位,不仅在设计思想和内容创新方面有很高的要求,且格式也有着非常严格的规定,是对学生综合能力的考核。文章阐述在Microsoft Word环境下基于VBA,结合Access数据库实现一个学位论文格式模板,应用本模板不仅提高学位论文的撰写效率,同时保证了高校学位论文质量。     

Balancing knowing and not-knowing: an exploration of doctoral candidates’ performance of researcher selves in the dissertation defence

This paper explores how 11 Canadian doctoral candidates performed as researchers in the final doctoral oral examination in handling questions that they identified as ‘difficult to answer’. Drawing from communities of practice theory, the study views the defence as an examination in which a novice researcher (the doctoral candidate) demonstrates knowing to a group of experienced researchers (the defence committee) in order to be approved of the membership of a scholarly community. The doctoral candidate’s researcher identity is considered as composed of three aspects: thinking about oneself as, performing as and being thought of as a researcher. It was found that many (41%) of the questions were difficult because of the questioners’ different perspectives on the dissertation; in answering them, the candidates balanced knowing and not-knowing by navigating across research areas/fields, methodological and epistemological borders. All the defences were successful, which indicate that these candidates were all thought of as competent researchers; yet, only those who thought about themselves as novice researchers felt satisfied with their performance.     

The ‘dissertation marathon’ in doctoral distance education

Participation in “communities of practice” is often depicted as a central feature of various theoretical understandings of the social nature of learning. How are such communities of practice to be enacted in distance education, which, by definition, implies spatial detachment? This article reflects on the dimensions of communities of practice experienced by four students undertaking doctoral studies by distance education, working in different countries than the one in which the institution of their studies is based, and at four different phases of their doctoral program. In each writer’s experience, community of practice involvement was identified as critical in program completion, yet the source of the learning community was in each case outside of institutional provision.     

Facilitating reflective learning in higher education

Although writing groups have a long history in higher education, they have only recently been recognized as a support strategy for doctoral students, particularly those at the dissertation stage. From the perspective of student participants, we investigate motivations for participation in and perceived outcomes of voluntary semi-structured writing groups used to facilitate doctoral degree completion. Group participation resulted in the development of a vibrant intellectual community among students, recent doctoral recipients, and faculty. Commitment to degree completion and student and faculty scholarly productivity soared through the use of this simple but innovative pedagogical strategy.

分析历年教育学学科全国优秀博士学位论文NEDD(National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations)的产出特点,将对提高博士生培养质量起到引导和示范作用。本文采用文献法和访谈法,对1999-2007年教育学学科NEDD的获得数量在所有学科、哲学社会科学以及教育学科中的分布,NEDD的获得与培养机构、重点学科以及导师知名度等的相关性进行了分析,发现教育学学科NEDD评选的竞争性将进一步加剧。
