LOW-CYCLE FATIGUE UNDER NON-PROPORTIONAL LOADING

A series of strain-controlled, low-cycle fatigue experiments have been conducted on 42CrMo steel under various loading paths including circular, square, cruciform, and rectangular paths. Present experiments have shown that there is additional hardening under non-proportional cyclic loading. Non-proportional cyclic additional hardening also results in a shorter life for multiaxial low cycle fatigue. A non-proportionality measure of strain path based on both a physical basis and macromechanical phenomena is proposed. The loading path effect on additional hardening is also described well. Low-cycle fatigue damage accumulation and the evolution process under non-proportional loading is analysed via the Continuum Damage Mechanics Model of Chaboche. A non-proportinality measure is introduced in the damage evolution equation and a modified Coffin-Manson type formula is derived. A novel fatigue life prediction approach based on the critical-plane concept of Brown and Miller is proposed.     

Intelligent Control of Consolidation and Solidification Processes

Intelligent processing of materials (IPM) deals with the integration of process models and in situ sensors into an intelligent process controller to achieve desired material properties. IPM-based control systems recently have been developed for both consolidation and solidification processes. This article explores the application of models based on the finite- element method (FEM) to develop process actuation systems, to design process schedules and component shape, and to develop a control model with which to control the process. The results in this article were presented at the AeroMat ’93 Advanced Aerospace Materials/Processes Conference and Exposition, Anaheim, CA, 7–10 June 1993

3D model retrieval using principal plane analysis and dynamic programming

Three dimensional models play an important role in many applications; the problem is how to select the appropriate models from a 3D database rapidly and accurately. In recent years, a variety of shape representations, statistical methods, and geometric algorithms have been proposed for matching 3D shapes or models. In this paper, we propose a 3D shape representation scheme based on a combination of principal plane analysis and dynamic programming. The proposed 3D shape representation scheme consists of three steps. First, a 3D model is transformed into a 2D image by projecting the vertices of the model onto its principal plane. Second, the convex hall of the 2D shape of the model is further segmented into multiple disjoint triangles using dynamic programming. Finally, for each triangle, a projection score histogram and moments are extracted as the feature vectors for similarity searching. Experimental results showed the robustness of the proposed scheme, which resists translation, rotation, scaling, noise, and destructive attacks. The proposed 3D model retrieval method performs fairly well in retrieving models having similar characteristics from a database of 3D models.

本文提出一种检定经纬仪竖直盘测角误差的新方法．该方法精度高，稳定性好，能直接与国家角度标准溯源．由它组成的“经纬仪综合检验仪”可以检测ＪＪＧ４１４—９４光学经纬仪检定规程中所有的项目及细分误差，其总不确定度为０．４″．被测仪器包括各种类型及精度的光学经纬仪、电子经纬仪、水准仪等．

工程建设规划设计阶段，决策者除对工程功能及效益进行研究外，还应了解当今先进施工技术，将先进技术的信息应用到工程设计中，优化设计，使工程建设更好地节约投资，加快施工进度，提高工程综合效益。以二滩水电站引水压力管道竖井和斜井两种型式为例，从地质， 利用，施工工艺，进度等方面进行对比分析，从而得出斜管方案优于竖管方案的结论。     

Analysis of polarization plane rotation characteristic in 2D photonic crystal waveguide with chiral medium by condensed node spatial network

Using the photonic band gap in photonic crystals, the fundamental waveguide structures for the light wavelength range have been developed. Based on the fine structure of these many functional devices have been proposed by analytical or numerical simulation methods and the experiments of trial manufacture. In this paper, the treatment of chiral dielectric in the Condensed Node Spatial Network for the vector potential is explained, and we show the polarization plane rotation property in air‐hole and pillar type photonic crystal waveguide structures with the chiral medium substrate. Then, we show the fundamental advantage of the air‐hole type photonic crystal waveguide structure in application to a mode converter. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 对天线方向图计算中涉及的最大副瓣电平的分析方法进行了探讨，提出了用方向图搜索求解最大副瓣电平；同时给出了用该方法求得在同相矩形口径两种分布形式下Ｉｎｔｅｒｃａｒｄｉｎａｌ面上的最大副瓣电子平，并给出了Ｉｎｔｅｒｃａｒｄｉｎａｌ面的定义。
