The current paper examined the relationship between perceived characteristics of the learning environment in an e‐module in relation to test performance among a group of e‐learners. Using structural equation modelling, the relationship between these variables is further explored in terms of the proposed double mediation as outlined by Ning and Downing. These authors initially proposed that motivation and self‐regulation strategies are mediators between the perception of the learning environment and performance. In our replication and extension study, we substituted self‐reported self‐regulation with behavioural indicators of self‐regulation using navigation log files and focused on test‐taking rather than general motivation. We proposed that navigational patterns captured using log files can also help deduce self‐regulation in e‐modules and provide information in the absence of self‐reports. Path analyses provide partial support for our navigational hypotheses and the model. Implications of our results for the use of e‐module data and conclusions based on navigation are discussed. 相似文献

The time dependences of electrical conduction and self‐heating behaviors in high‐density polyethylene filled with acetylene carbon black of 0.082 in volume fraction are studied in relation to voltage and ambient temperature. The characteristic decay current constant τi, and the exponential growth time constant for self‐heating τg are determined for the samples under voltages U above the critical value Uc for the onset of self‐heating. The influences of voltage and ambient temperature on τi and τg as well as the amplitude of the low‐resistance to high‐resistance switching are discussed on the basis of the random resistor network (RRN) model and the relationship between Uc and the intrinsic resistivity. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(diglycidyl maleate‐co‐stearyl methacrylate) (P(DGMA‐co‐SMA)) with reactive epoxy groups was synthesized by reaction of poly(maleic anhydride‐co‐stearyl methacrylate) (P(MA‐co‐SMA)) and epichlorohydrin. The effect of precipitant on self‐assembly behaviors of the resultant copolymer was investigated. It was found that vesicles and nanotubule liked aggregates can be obtained through self‐assembly of P(DGMA‐co‐SMA) in THF solution using CH3CH2OH (EtOH) as precipitant while spheral aggregates can be obtained using H2O as precipitant. A cheap acrylic AB* monomer, 2‐(2‐chloroacetyloxy)‐isopropyl acrylate (CAIPA), was prepared from 2‐hydroxyisopropyl acrylate with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine. The self‐condensing vinyl polymerization by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), a “living”/controlled radical polymerization, has yielded hyperbranched polymers. All the polymerization products were characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR). CAIPA exhibited distinctive polymerization behavior that is similar to a classical step‐growth polymerization in the relationship of molecular weight to polymerization time, especially during the initial stage of the polymerization. However, a significant amount of monomer remained present throughout the polymerization, which is consistent with typical chain polymerization. Also, if a much longer polymerization time was used, the polymer became gel. As a result of the unequal reactivity of group A* and B*, the polymerization is different from an ideal self‐condensing vinyl polymerization: the branch structures of polymers prepared depend dramatically on the ratio of 2,2'‐bipyridyl to CAIPA. Hyperbranched polymers exhibit improved solubility in organic solvent, however, they have lower thermal stability than their linear analogs. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we propose a new continuous self‐collision detection (CSCD) method for a deformable surface that interacts with a simple solid model. The method is developed based on the radial‐view‐based culling method. Our method is suitable for the deformable surface that has large contact region with the solid model. The deformable surface may consist of small round‐shaped holes. At the pre‐processing stage, the holes of the deformable surface are filled with ghost triangles so as to make the mesh of the deformable surface watertight. An observer primitive (i.e. a point or a line segment) is computed so that it lies inside the solid model. At the runtime stage, the orientations of triangles with respect to the observer primitive are evaluated. The collision status of the deformable surface is then determined. We evaluated our method for several animations including virtual garments. Experimental results show that our method improves the process of CSCD. 相似文献
