This review describes the current knowledge and applications of pulsatile flow in microfluidic systems. Elements of fluid dynamics at low Reynolds number are first described in the context of pulsatile flow. Then the practical applications in microfluidic processes are presented: the methods to generate a pulsatile flow, the generation of emulsion droplets through harmonic flow rate perturbation, the applications in mixing and particle separation, and the benefits of pulsatile flow for clog mitigation. The second part of the review is devoted to pulsatile flow in biological applications. Pulsatile flows can be used for mimicking physiological systems, to alter or enhance cell cultures, and for bioassay automation. Pulsatile flows offer unique advantages over a steady flow, especially in microfluidic systems, but also require some new physical insights and more rigorous investigation to fully benefit future applications. 相似文献

An automatic method is established for layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of biomimetic coatings in cell culture microplates using a commercial liquid‐handling robot. Highly homogeneous thin films are formed at the bottom of each microwell. The LbL film‐coated microplates are compatible with common cellular assays, using microplate readers and automated microscopes. Cellular adhesion is screened on crosslinked and peptide‐functionalized LbL films and stem cell differentiation in response to increasing doses of bone morphogenetic proteins (2, 4, 7, 9). This method paves the way for future applications of LbL films in cell‐based assays for regenerative medicine and high‐throughput drug screening. 相似文献

Finished vehicle logistics is facing different challenges. In order to cope with these challenges this article presents a case study, analysing a concept to improve finished vehicle logistics using radio frequency identification (RFID)-based and electronic product code information services (EPCIS). Within this case study, vehicles were identified automatically by RFID. For sharing, the information generated by RFID the EPCIS-based InfoBroker was developed according to the needs of the automotive industry. By having data available through the InfoBroker, decision support systems (DSS) can make planning and control of finished vehicle logistics decisions more efficiently. The case study was executed within two finished vehicle logistics cases. Based on this article practitioners can estimate the potentials of RFID and EPCIS for finished vehicle logistics. This paper provides a survey of the main advanced control techniques currently adopted in factory automation. In particular, it focuses on five classes of control approaches, namely: model-based control, control based on computational intelligence, adaptive control, discrete event systems-based control and finally event-triggered and self-triggered control. The latest developments regarding autonomous vehicles (AVs) have drawn the attention of tech-savvy individuals and marketers. AVs are expected to cause a major change in the markets of vehicle selling, transportation and logistics. Therefore, it is crucial to understand consumer acceptance so that the companies in these markets can develop their penetration strategies accordingly and technology companies can shape their technology development strategies. This study aims to examine individuals' adoption attitudes toward AVs by considering trust and sustainability concerns. This was achieved by expanding the technology acceptance model (TAM). A survey of 391 participants was conducted and the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results confirmed previous technology acceptance models by showing the relationships between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and behavioral intention. Moreover, the direct and indirect effects of trust on behavioral intention were also shown. This study provides evidence to extend the TAM to the adoption of AVs by uncovering individuals’ sustainability concerns. 相似文献

目的 为解决现有分级包装设备存在劳动强度大、效率低、易损伤果皮等问题,设计一种基于自动化水果筛选分级包装一体机。方法 将水果通过上料装置输送到果杯中,通过齿轮齿条的配合实现水果的360°旋转,筛选后通过特制的冲模分流装置进行一次分流,进入包装机后利用45DF型凸轮分割器搭配电机带动棘轮实现水果的二次单个分流,利用发泡型塑料网的物理特性,通过凸轮的急回特性来实现单个水果包装自动化。结果 基于机械原理和机械设计,对关键部件进行计算设计和仿真设计,得到传送盘与地面的安装角度为3°,传送盘工作时最大变形量为0.503 69 mm,棘轮工作时最大变形为5.763 9×10−5 mm,最大应变为4.799×10−7,最大应力为9.56×10−4 N,满足使用要求。结论 通过实现分级包装一体机的自动化,减少了劳动力,降低了人工成本,提高了经济效益。 相似文献

Kansei evaluation is crucial to the process of Kansei engineering. However, traditional methods are subjective and random. In order to eliminate the differences of individual evaluation criteria in product Kansei attributes evaluation, and further improve the evaluation efficiency, a novel automatic evaluation and labeling architecture for product Kansei attributes was proposed in this paper based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). The architecture consists of two modules: (1) Target detection module (Faster R-CNN was taken as an example), (2) Fine-Grained classification module (DFL-CNN was taken as an example). A case study was provided to validate the proposed architecture. The proposed architecture transformed design evaluation tasks into the recognition and classification tasks. The experiments achieved 98.837%, 96.899%, 86.047%, and 81.008% accuracy in the binary, triple, and two five-classification tasks, respectively. Our results proved the feasibility of using computer vision to mimic human vision for the automatic evaluation of Kansei attributes. 相似文献
