切割种子对二穗短柄草种子休眠及萌发的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
为打破二穗短柄草种子的休眠,对二穗短柄草种子进行了6种类型的处理:(1)不切割;(2)切掉胚乳1/4;(3)切掉胚乳1/2;(4)在背对胚的一面划一不伤及胚的裂缝;5)切掉胚乳3/4;6)全部切掉胚乳,只剩下胚,以探索各处理对种子休眠的影响。切割种子是打破二穗短柄草种子休眠的有效方法。方差分析显示,不同切割处理对打破种子休眠有着显著的差异,其萌发率的高低顺序为(6)(5)(4)(3)(2)(1)。种子休眠被打破的难易,与种子切割点到胚的相对距离以及切割后剩下部分的百分比皆成负相关关系。分析表明,在自然条件下部分地损伤种子的胚乳,可以增加种子萌发的几率。作为模式植物,二穗短柄草的休眠特性对进一步研究植物种子的休眠机理很有意义。  相似文献

Four forms of mole rats with diploid numbers of chromosomes of S2, 54, 58, and 60, respectively, were found in Israel and the vicinity. The differences between the chromosome sets are due to whole-arm (Robertsonian) changes and pericentric inversions. The geographic distribution of the different forms is contiguous. Only a few hybrid individuals have been discovered. These chromosome forms are tentatively considered as sibling species, almost completely isolated by cytogenetic and possibly ethological mechanisms. The weak dispersal powers of mole rats may have-contributed to a rapid fixation of adaptive homozygous chromosomal changes.  相似文献

Summary The Near East Fertile Crescent extending from Iran to Israel is the centre of origin of cultivated barley and a region of great genetic diversity in wild barley, Hordeum spontaneum C. Koch (syn. H. vulgare ssp. spontaneum (C. Koch Thell)). Wild barley accessions collected from different parts of this region were evaluated for their reactions to infection with three isolates of Erysiphe graminis hordei and two of Puccinia hordei. One culture of each pathogen was isolated in Israel and the others, either in Japan or the United States. Out of a total of 330 wild barley accessions collected from 14 sites in Iran, Turkey and Syria, only 18.8% were resistant to the Israeli culture, and 14.8% were resistant to a composite of the Japanese and American cultures of E. graminis hordei. Out of 105 accessions collected from six sites in Iran and Turkey, none was found to be resistant to the Israeli culture and 34.3% were resistant to the American culture of P. hordei. Considerable variation was observed both within and among sites for reactions to infection with different cultures of each of the two pathogens. The results of this study were compared with those of an earlier study involving wild barley accessions from Israel to illustrate the relative importance of different subregions in the Near East Fertile Crescent as sources of new genes for resistance to E. graminis hordei and P. hordei. Implications of these studies for in situ conservation of genetic diversity in wild barley are discussed.  相似文献

Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe graminis f. sp. tritici is one of the most important wheat diseases in many regions of theworld. A powdery mildew resistance gene, originating from wild emmerwheat (Triticum dicoccoides) accession `C20', from Rosh Pinna, Israel,was successfully transferred to hexaploid wheat through crossing andbackcrossing. Genetic analysis indicated that a single dominant genecontrols the powdery mildew resistance at the seedling stage. SegregatingBC1F2 progenies of the cross 87-1/C20//2*8866 wereused for bulked segregant analysis (BSA). The PCR approach was used togenerate polymorphic DNA fragments between the resistant and susceptibleDNA pools by use of 10-mer random primers, STS primers, and wheatmicrosatellite primers. Three markers, Xgwm159/430,Xgwm159/460, and Xgwm159/500, were found to be linked tothe resistance gene. After evaluating the polymorphic markers in twosegregating populations, the distance between the markers and the mildewresistance gene was estimated to be 5–6 cM. By means of ChineseSpring nullisomic-tetrasomics and ditelosomics, the polymorphic markersand the resistance gene were assigned to chromosome arm 5BS and werephysically mapped on the gene rich regions of fragment length (FL) 0.41–0.43 by Chinese Spring deletion lines. As no powdery mildew resistancegene has been reported on chromosome arm 5BS, the mildew resistancegene originating from C20 should be a new gene and is designated Pm30.  相似文献

Summary Seedling resistance to wheat stem rust was determined in populations of wild emmer wheat, Triticum dicoccoides, and characterized by means of ecological factors and allozyme genotypes. Reactions to wheat stem rust were studied in 102 single plant accessions of T. dicoccoides from ten populations by inoculation with Puccinia graminis tritici race 14, isolate GSR-739. Six populations displayed different degrees of response polymorphism with reactions ranging from high resistance to complete susceptibility, whereas four populations contained only susceptible plants. In some of the accession, unexplained intrasib variation in resistance and intraplant variation of infection-types were found. Resistance to stem rust was negatively correlated with two ecological factors, altitude and number of Sharav (hot-dry) days which are unfavorable to disease development. Variation in stem rust response was shown to exist in ecogeographic regions where climatic variables enhanced the development of the fungus, conceivably maintained by natural selection. Likewise, allozyme genotypes, single or in multiple loci combinations, appeared to be associated with resistance or susceptibility to rust. Such association need to be verified by genetic studies in order to become established as useful markers.  相似文献

Alpha-amylase inhibitors are attractive candidates for the control of seed weevils as these insects are highly dependent on starch as an energy source. For weevil control, alpha-amylase inhibitors and their genes could be used to genetically engineer weevil resistant seeds. Thirty genes encoding dimeric alpha-amylase inhibitors were isolated from Triticum aestivum L. ‘Chinese Spring’ and characterized by nucleotide and amino acid sequence analysis. Eleven representative alpha-amylase inhibitor genes were identified, and the deduced amino acid sequences of these genes were of high coherence (95.1%). These inhibitors and others obtained from the wheat EST database were clustered into three groups, the genes from ‘Chinese Spring’ were present in each group. Specific primer sets were designed for each group, based on the SNPs of these genes, and the chromosome locations of each group of inhibitor genes investigated by amplification of the ‘Chinese Spring’ ditelosomic lines. There were two and one groups of inhibitor genes on chromosomes 3BS and 3DS, respectively, whereas no group of inhibitor genes was found on chromosome 3AS. Thus, the primer set for each group of inhibitor genes was genome allele-specific. The two known inhibitors, 0.53 and 0.19, were located on chromosomes 3BS and 3DS, respectively. The validity of the three genome allele-specific primer sets was confirmed by amplifications in 15 accessions of Triticum urartu, Triticum monococcum, Aegilops tauschii and Triticum dicoccoides. These results gave further support at the molecular level, that the 24 kDa dimeric alpha-amylase inhibitors in cultivated wheat are encoded by a multigene family.  相似文献

The opposite slopes of lower Nahal Oren, Mount Carmel, Israel, designated “Evolution Canyon”, display physical and biotic contrasts, although both are cut in Upper Cenomanian calcareous limestone. The three-fold greater solar radiation makes the south-facing slope warmer, drier and more variable than the north-facing slope and valley bottom. Consequently, biodiversity is greater. Microclimate (mesic–xeric) is a major force driving adaptive evolution, and causing soil divergence. The soils on both slopes are Terra Rossas in the Israeli classification system (Rhodoxeralfs in US taxonomy). However, selected properties (pH, humus content, NH4–N content, cation exchange capacity and others) display greater interslope than intraslope differences. The north-facing Terra Rossas have a dark-coloured A1 humic horizon, which is better developed than in south-facing Terra Rossas. Differences in soil morphology, moisture regime and microfabric between the north- and south-facing soils suggest that they belong to different taxonomic classes. These differences probably result in part from the forested ecosystem of the north-facing slope versus the savanna-like ecosystem of the opposite slope.  相似文献

Genetic variability in RAPDs (Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA) was studied in 104 genotypes of wild barley, Hordeum spontaneum from 21 populations sampled in Israel, Turkey and Iran, seven population from each country. The band (= loci) frequencies were calculated for each population and correlated with ecogeographical variables. In general, high RAPD genetic diversity indices were associated with stressful environments, either with hot or cold steppes and deserts. Interpopulational genetic distances showed no association with the geographic distance between the populations' provenance. Significant Spearman rank correlations between RAPD band frequencies and ecogeographical parameters of provenance occured. Frequencies of RAPD bands were significantly correlated with the principal component factors of allozymes. The correlation data indirectly suggest that natural selection appears to be the major determinant of both RAPD and allozyme diversities both being correlated with environmental stress.  相似文献
