A remotely detectable signature for biomass burning that is specific to flaming combustion is found in the strong emission lines of potassium (K) at 766.5 nm and 769.9 nm. Ground level spectra of a test fire illustrate the high contrast signal provided by K emission. Image data collected at high altitude using the Airborne Visible Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) sensor and analysed for K emission vividly displays the fire fronts of a 1995 fire in Brazil. Sensors for K emission can use silicon detector technology for advantages in high sensitivity, low cost, wide area coverage and fine spatial resolution.  相似文献

Effects of Loading Sequences and Size of Repeated Stress Block of Loads on Fatigue Life Calculated using Fatigue Functions It is well-known that collective form, stress intensity and loading sequence of individual stresses as well as size of repeated stress blocks can influence fatigue life, significantly. The basic variant of the consecutive Wöhler curve concept will permit these effects to be involved into fatigue life computation. The paper presented will demonstrate that fatigue life computations using fatigue functions reflect the loading sequence effect with multilevel loading precisely and provide reliable fatigue life data. Effects of size of repeated stress block and loading sequence on fatigue life as observed with block program tests can be reproduced using the new computation method.  相似文献

In the field of bulk solids, handling knowledge on moisture behaviour in aggregate stockpiles can be useful for process optimisation in terms of energy consumption. In the asphalt industry, an increase in moisture content leads to a significant increase in energy consumption. To determine the characteristics of moisture behaviour, correlations are investigated between theory on soil–water movements and moisture in aggregates. With column drainage experiments with porous bottom, similarities between theory and practice are found. This allows the use of theoretical hydrologic models to determine and predict the moisture behaviour in drained piles. The effect of process alterations within the system of piles on energy consumption was investigated, and a significant reduction of energy consumption was found.  相似文献

In the framework of the French inter lab SPACT project (fuel cell systems for transportation applications), a 10 kW PEM fuel cell testing bench has been installed in 2002 in the national fuel cell test platform located in Belfort, France. The behaviour of a 5 kW fuel cell, fed with humidified pure hydrogen gas and compressed air, has been investigated by the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering and Systems (L2ES) in association with the French National Institute for Transport and Safety Research (INRETS).  相似文献

The MDR1 P-glycoprotein (Pgp), a member of the ATP-binding cassette family of transporters, is a transmembrane ATPase efflux pump for various lipophilic compounds, including many anti-cancer drugs. mAb UIC2, reactive with the extracellular moiety of Pgp, inhibits Pgp-mediated efflux. UIC2 reactivity with Pgp was increased by the addition of several Pgp-transported compounds or ATP-depleting agents, and by mutational inactivation of both nucleotide-binding domains (NBDs) of Pgp. UIC2 binding to Pgp mutated in both NBDs was unaffected in the presence of Pgp transport substrates or in ATP-depleted cells, whereas the reactivities of the wild-type Pgp and Pgps mutated in a single NBD were increased by these treatments to the level of the double mutant. These results indicate the existence of different Pgp conformations associated with different stages of transport-associated ATP hydrolysis and suggest trapping in a transient conformation as a mechanism for antibody-mediated inhibition of Pgp.  相似文献

We present a new way to realise a selective emitter structure using a single screen-printed phosphorous paste deposition as dopant source to obtain a doping differential, with rapid thermal diffusion. The heavily doped part of the emitter is situated underneath the deposited phosphorous lines, and the lightly doped emitter in between is obtained via the gas phase, because phosphorous out-diffuses from the paste during the high-temperature step. SIMS profiles show a difference of a factor 4 in magnitude for the surface concentration between the regions underneath and beside the deposited paste. Photovoltaic results show an improvement in efficiency of 0.7% in comparison with the reference cell (homogeneous emitter), due to a 2 mA/cm2 short-circuit current increase.  相似文献

We report that the Bjornstad syndrome gene maps to chromosome 2q34-36. The clinical association of sensorineural hearing loss with pili torti (broken, twisted hairs) was described >30 years ago by Bjornstad; subsequently, several small families have been studied. We evaluated a large kindred with Bjornstad syndrome in which eight members inherited pili torti and prelingual sensorineural hearing loss as autosomal recessive traits. A genomewide search using polymorphic loci demonstrated linkage between the disease gene segregating in this kindred and D2S434 (maximum two-point LOD score = 4.98 at theta = 0). Haplotype analysis of recombination events located the disease gene in a 3-cM region between loci D2S1371 and D2S163. We speculate that intermediate filament and intermediate filament-associated proteins are good candidate genes for causing Bjornstad syndrome.  相似文献
