An in-pile experiment for the determination of the relative abundances and decay constants of delayed neutrons has been successfully performed at the IPEN/MB-01 research reactor facility. The experimental data are of good quality and can be used to validate theoretical predictions of the delayed neutron group constants based on the current knowledge of the fission products yields and emission probabilities for known precursors. The theory/experiment comparison shows that the current release of ENDF/B-VI, namely release 8, shows severe discrepancies in both relative abundances and in its first decay constant. The version revised at LANL shows very good progress in both aspects. JENDL3.3 shows the best performance in the C/E comparison. One of the main achievements of the experiment was the consistency of the measured first decay constant to that of 87Br. Intrinsic characteristics of distillation such as dead time and high nonlinearities do not allow the complete elimination of transient times when any external disturbance or set-point change occurs. Thus, aiming at the use of easy-tuning systems, a distributed-action control in trays of a diabatic distillation unit with Smith's predictor was implemented in the Simulink environment to further reduce transient times and out-of-specification product. The distributed-action strategy with Smith's predictor led to a reduction of 33.3 min (33 %) in the transient time of the top temperature control loop and 66 % in out-of-specification product, when compared with the conventional strategy, and thus is shown to be an efficient approach to increasing the productivity of distillation plants. 相似文献

Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is the human receptor that interacts with the spike protein of coronaviruses, including the one that produced the 2020 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Thus, ACE2 is a potential target for drugs that disrupt the interaction of human cells with SARS-CoV-2 to abolish infection. There is also interest in drugs that inhibit or activate ACE2, that is, for cardiovascular disorders or colitis. Compounds binding at alternative sites could allosterically affect the interaction with the spike protein. Herein, we review biochemical, chemical biology, and structural information on ACE2, including the recent cryoEM structures of full-length ACE2. We conclude that ACE2 is very dynamic and that allosteric drugs could be developed to target ACE2. At the time of the 2020 pandemic, we suggest that available ACE2 inhibitors or activators in advanced development should be tested for their ability to allosterically displace the interaction between ACE2 and the spike protein. 相似文献

The impact of microbial growth on the physicochemical parameters of sheep milk was evaluated. The total bacterial counts (TBC) showed a lag phase of 4 h and µ‐max of 0.4 log/h. After 8.4 h, the TBC reached the limit established by European Community, pH had a reduction of 0.04, acidity had an increase in 0.04%, and no changes were observed in the ethanol stability. The milk became thermally unstable after 17 h (109 cfu/mL), when the pH was 5.71, acidity was 0.36%, and ethanol stability was 21.3%. These results highlighted the extreme stability of sheep milk protein and that acidity may be the best physicochemical parameters to predict the quality of sheep milk. 相似文献

Lipases are hydrolytic enzymes that break the ester bonds of triglycerides, generating free fatty acids and glycerol. Extracellular lipase activity has been reported for the nonconventional yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus, grown in olive oil as a substrate, and the presence of at least eight putative lipases has been detected in its genome. However, to date, there is no experimental evidence on the physiological role of the putative lipases nor their structural and catalytic properties. In this study, a bioinformatic analysis of the genes of the putative lipases from K. marxianus L-2029 was performed, particularly identifying and characterizing the extracellular expected enzymes, due to their biotechnological relevance. The amino acid sequence of 10 putative lipases, obtained by in silico translation, ranged between 389 and 773 amino acids. Two of the analysed putative proteins showed a signal peptide, 25 and 33 amino acids long for KmYJR107Wp and KmLIP3p, and a molecular weight of 44.53 and 58.23 kDa, respectively. The amino acid alignment of KmLIP3p and KmYJR107Wp with the crystallized lipases from a patatin and the YlLip2 lipase from Yarrowia lipolytica, respectively, revealed the presence of the hydrolase characteristic motifs. From the 3D models of putative extracellular K. marxianus L-2029 lipases, the conserved pentapeptide of each was determined, being GTSMG for KmLIP3p and GHSLG for KmYJR107Wp; besides, the genes of these two enzymes (LIP3 and YJR107W) are apparently regulated by oleate response elements. The phylogenetic analysis of all K. marxianus lipases revealed evolutionary affinities with lipases from abH15.03, abH23.01, and abH23.02 families. 相似文献

The incorporation of viscoelastic materials represents an effective strategy to reduce the vibratory level of structural components. Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) are a special type of viscoelastic material that combines the elastomeric properties of rubbers with the easy processing of thermoplastics. In the present work, we propose innovative ways to improve the damping properties of high‐performance TPVs by using rubbers with carboxylic functionalities. For that, TPVs from physical blends of carboxylated hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (XHNBR) and polyamide 6 (PA6) were prepared. The chain dynamics of different mixed crosslink systems containing peroxide, metal oxides and hindered phenolic antioxidants were investigated in order to find the most suitable strategy to design a high‐performance TPV system with upgraded damping properties. The results indicate that the damping performance of the TPV system can be tailored by controlling the type and magnitude of the bonding interactions between the mixed crosslink system and the XHNBR rubber phase. Therefore, this study demonstrates the potential of TPV systems containing carboxylic rubbers as high‐performance damping materials. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Food and nutrition security can be supported by an urban garden. The present study comprises a critical reflection on the difficulty of producing food in urban gardens in Brazil and shows the potential of food production and the obstacles to its expansion. In addition, issues related to the agroecological management of gardens are addressed and suggestions are made to improve the proposed public policies. Urban gardens are multifunctional and have social, economic and environmental impacts. They are strategically important for supporting low-income families and urban development. Through urban gardens, diverse foods and quality foods can be produced for self-consumption. This review highlights the importance of generating detailed information on urban gardens in Brazil to support policies aimed at this sector. Long-term and multidisciplinary studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between food production in urban gardens and household food and nutrition security. This approach revealed a lack of information on the amount of food produced by Brazilians in their gardens and consumed by the household. In addition, there is little information on the management of production. There has been an increasing interest in the wooden barrel aging of beer in breweries worldwide. Monitoring of the barrel aging process relies mostly on changes in sensory parameters over time. This may be difficult for teams or brewers with little or no appropriate experience. The beer sensory wheel presents a broad approach to sensory aspects and generalised attributes for many beer styles. Accordingly, this tool may result in confusion through excessive visual information. The work reported here is based on literature research and sensory panel analysis employing ultra-flash profile with the aim to build a new visual tool for wooden barrel aged beer. This will aid the evaluation, training and quality assessment of barrel aged beer. It also provides specific terminology to describe the sensory changes during the barrel aging process. This approach was used to elucidate the characteristics of different wood species (amburana, cabreúva and American oak), and evaluate the flavour transformation of wooden barrel aged beer compared to non-aged beer. The barrel aged beer wheel comprises attributes and references for flavour evaluation and also terms that define the main transformational pathways, namely oxidation, wood extraction and biotransformation.
