A simple and practical method for minimizing non-linear image contrast in spherical aberration-corrected (C(S)-corrected) high-resolution transmission electron microscopy is presented. The effectiveness of the method is considered from the viewpoints of theoretical formulations and image simulations including second-order imaging effects. The method is one of the advantages of C(S)-correction and applied to high-resolution images down to 0.1 nm. The dynamical diffraction effect is carefully evaluated, which shows that the phase deviation of diffracted waves from pi/2 violates the present method in thicker crystals over approximately 10 nm. 相似文献

Spontaneous optical pattern formation from an initial seed optical pattern in an optoelectronic system with optical diffractive feedback is investigated experimentally. We demonstrate that the temporal evolution of the spontaneously formed patterns exhibits a contrast enhancement effect, a spatial filtering effect, and filling of vacant space while the surrounding structures are maintained. These effects allow us to perform image processing of natural fringe patterns, i.e., in our experiments, fingerprint patterns. Since June 6, 2002, psilocin and psilocybin-containing fungi (commonly called "magic mushrooms") have been regulated by the Narcotics and Psychotropics Control Law in Japan. However, various fly agaric-related products are now entering the Japanese market via the internet. In this study, fly agaric-related products available in this way were investigated for raw materials by DNA analysis and for additives by chemical analysis. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the mitochondrial 12S rDNA region suggested that these fly agaric-related products originate from A. muscaria or A. muscaria var. persicina. Furthermore, they were classified into three strains based on the ITS2-LSU nucleotide sequence. Harmine derivatives and/or tryptamine derivatives were detected in some of these products by LC/MS analysis. Heat generated during dynamic crack propagation in viscoelastic solids was investigated by visible liquid crystal film technique to observe the thermal boundary front emanating from a running crack tip. The effects of applied strain rate on the viscoelastic crack bifurcation phenomenon in Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) were investigated. It was still verified that the product was constant, as was already observed by Congleton and Petch, and Anthony, Chubb and Congleton, for brittle elastic materials, for any strain rate, where σf = the gross fracture stress and Cb= the main crack length until the bifurcation starts. However, it was found that the higher strain rate increases the main crack length Cb resulting in the decrease in the gross fracture stress σf and vice versa. This might be interpreted that the higher stress concentration at the initiation crack tip, which is realized by becoming more brittle due to the higher strain rate owing to the predominance of the elastic element in the viscoelastic material, decreases the gross fracture stress leading to the longer main crack length. 相似文献

Creep of nuclear fuels under irradiation has generally been considered as an athermal process. A transient state of irradiation induced creep, however, was treated with kinetic equations based on thermodynamics. For this purpose, the kinetic equations for enhanced diffusion, annihilation of excess vacancies and migration probability under irradiation were derived. Effective works were introduced to the above processes as a result of the fission damage, and reduced activation energies for each process were defined. To study the effects of reduced gravity on the flow regime and the heat transfer characteristics of a boiling two-phase horizontal flow, parabolic flight experiments were performed by using an aircraft. The gravity level during the parabolic flight and the duration time were about −0.01ge +0.01ge and 20 s, respectively. Under earth gravity, many small bubbles are detached very frequently from the heater rod surface, flowing into the upper stream due to the buoyancy and resulting in a stratified flow in the cases of lower inlet fluid velocity and higher heat flux. Under microgravity conditions, bubbles are hardly detached from the heater rod, growing and coalescing to become much larger along the heater rod, surrounding the heater rod in the downstream. This tendency was more noticeable in the cases of lower inlet fluid velocity, higher heat flux and lower inlet fluid subcooling. The local heat transfer coefficients at the bottom of the heater rod tend to decrease slightly under microgravity compared with those under earth gravity because of the reduction of the heat removal due to natural convection. On the other hand, the local heat transfer coefficients at the top of the heater rod tend to increase slightly under microgravity. However, the differences of the local heat transfer coefficients are very small in spite of large differences of the flow regimes under earth gravity and microgravity. 相似文献

In order to improve some inferior physical properties of bacterial poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyhexanoate) [P(3HB‐co‐3HHx)] by blending with PEO, the miscibility, spherulite morphology, crystallization behavior and mechanical properties of P(3HB‐co‐3HHx)/PEO binary biodegradable polymer blends were investigated. A good miscibility between P(3HB‐co‐3HHx) with a 3HHx unit content of 11 mol‐% and PEO in the amorphous state was found when the PEO weight fraction was 10 wt.‐%, while the miscibility decreased dramatically when the PEO weight fraction exceeded 20 wt.‐%. Strongly depending on the blend composition, the mechanical properties of P(3HB‐co‐3HHx) was found to be significantly improved by blending with PEO with a weight fraction of ≈5–17.5 wt.‐%.
