The Internet of Things (IoT) is gaining attention because of its broad applicability, especially by integrating smart devices for massive communication during sensing tasks. IoT-assisted Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are suitable for various applications like industrial monitoring, agriculture, and transportation. In this regard, routing is challenging to find an efficient path using smart devices for transmitting the packets towards big data repositories while ensuring efficient energy utilization. This paper presents the Robust Cluster Based Routing Protocol (RCBRP) to identify the routing paths where less energy is consumed to enhances the network lifespan. The scheme is presented in six phases to explore flow and communication. We propose the two algorithms: i) energy-efficient clustering and routing algorithm and ii) distance and energy consumption calculation algorithm. The scheme consumes less energy and balances the load by clustering the smart devices. Our work is validated through extensive simulation using Matlab. Results elucidate the dominance of the proposed scheme is compared to counterparts in terms of energy consumption, the number of packets received at BS and the number of active and dead nodes. In the future, we shall consider edge computing to analyze the performance of robust clustering.  相似文献

The use of Neem biomass for the biosorption of zinc from aqueous solutions   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
An adsorbent was developed from mature leaves and stem bark of the Neem (Azadirachta indica) tree for removing zinc from water. Adsorption was carried out in a batch process with several different concentrations of zinc by varying pH. The uptake of metal was very fast initially, but gradually slowed down indicating penetration into the interior of the adsorbent particles. The data showed that optimum pH for efficient biosorption of zinc by Neem leaves and stem bark was 4 and 5, respectively. The maximum adsorption capacity showed that the Neem biomass had a mass capacity for zinc (147.08 mg Zn/g for Neem leaves and 137.67 mg Zn/g Neem bark). The experimental results were analyzed in terms of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. The adsorption followed pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The thermodynamic assessment of the metal ion-Neem tree biomass system indicated the feasibility and spontaneous nature of the process and DeltaG degrees values were evaluated as ranging from -26.84 to -32.75 (Neem leaves) kJ/mol and -26.04 to -29.50 (Neem bark) kJ/mol for zinc biosorption. Due to its outstanding zinc uptake capacity, the Neem tree was proved to be an excellent biomaterial for accumulating zinc from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

In this retinal prosthesis project, a rehabilitative device is designed to replace the functionality of defective photoreceptors in patients suffering from retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The device consists of an extraocular and an intraocular unit. The implantable component receives power and a data signal via a telemetric inductive link between the two units. The extraocular unit includes a video camera and video processing board, a telemetry protocol encoder chip, and an RF amplifier and primary coil. The intraocular unit consists of a secondary coil, a rectifier and regulator, a retinal chip with a telemetry protocol decoder, a stimulus signal generator, and an electrode array. This paper focuses on the design, fabrication, and testing of a microchip which serves as the telemetry protocol decoder and stimulus signal generator. It is fabricated by MOSIS with 1.2-mm CMOS technology and was demonstrated to provide the desired biphasic current stimulus pulses for an array of 100 retinal electrodes at video frame rates  相似文献

Task parallelism is an attractive approach to automatically load balance the computation in a parallel system and adapt to dynamism exhibited by parallel systems. Exploiting task parallelism through work stealing has been extensively studied in shared and distributed‐memory contexts. In this paper, we study the design of a system that uses work stealing for dynamic load balancing of task‐parallel programs executed on hybrid distributed‐memory CPU‐graphics processing unit (GPU) systems in a global‐address space framework. We take into account the unique nature of the accelerator model employed by GPUs, the significant performance difference between GPU and CPU execution as a function of problem size, and the distinct CPU and GPU memory domains. We consider various alternatives in designing a distributed work stealing algorithm for CPU‐GPU systems, while taking into account the impact of task distribution and data movement overheads. These strategies are evaluated using microbenchmarks that capture various execution configurations as well as the state‐of‐the‐art CCSD(T) application module from the computational chemistry domain. This paper presents a design methodology of a highly efficient power link based on Class-E driven, inductively coupled coil pair. An optimal power link design for retinal prosthesis and/or other implants must take into consideration the allowable safety limits of magnetic fields, which in turn govern the inductances of the primary and secondary coils. In retinal prosthesis, the optimal coil inductances have to deal with the constraints of the coil sizes, the tradeoffs between the losses, H-field limitation and dc supply voltage required by the Class-E driver. Our design procedure starts with the formation of equivalent circuits, followed by the analysis of the loss of the rectifier and coils and the H-field for induced voltage and current. Both linear and nonlinear models for the analysis are presented. Based on the procedure, an experimental power link is implemented with an overall efficiency of 67% at the optimal distance of 7 mm between the coils. In addition to the coil design methodology, we are also presenting a closed-loop control of Class-E amplifier for any duty cycle and any value of the systemQ.  相似文献
