This paper studies the creep–fatigue crack initiation and failure lives of Sn–3.5Ag solder notched specimens focused on the multiaxial strain at the notch root. Push–pull creep–fatigue tests were performed using three circumferential notched specimens using four kinds of creep–fatigue strain waveforms. Multiaxial strains at the notched section were calculated by finite element (FE) analysis under four kinds of creep–fatigue loading. Creep–fatigue damage laws were applied for evaluating the crack initiation and failure lives using the multiaxial strains obtained by the FE analysis. von Mises equivalent strain at the notch root estimated the crack initiation lives with a large scatter as well as the failure lives. Instead, the mean value of von Mises equivalent strain over the cross section of the notch root estimated the crack initiation and failure lives with a small scatter.  相似文献

Voids are representative of the damage process in both creep and ductile fractures. Although the matrix/precipitate interface has been considered the preferential nucleation site for voids, the relationship between the atomic structure of this interface and the nucleation mechanism of a void has never been sufficiently investigated. In this study, the bcc Fe/V4C3 interface is selected as a model interface between a matrix and precipitate. The vacancy formation energy and intrinsic mechanical strength at this interface are investigated using a first-principles calculation because they should be related with the nucleation of creep and ductile voids, respectively. Within the considered interface, the Fe vacancy is found to be dominant. When the Baker–Nutting orientation relationship is satisfied at the interface, the calculated intrinsic mechanical strength of the interface is 23.8 GPa. However, when the geometric coherence at the interface is low as compared to that of the Baker–Nutting orientation relationship, it is found that the interfacial mechanical strength is significantly weakened. At each interface, it is found that the back-bond of the interface determined the interfacial strength because of the strongly bonded Fe–C on the interface. The nucleation mechanism of a void at the matrix/precipitate interface is discussed based on the present findings. It is suggested that local decohesion at the matrix/precipitate interface should be the origin of the nucleation of a ductile void.  相似文献

Plasma potassium concentration plays an important role in the induction of arrhythmia and is closely related to the arrhythmogenicity of various drugs. We quantitatively analyzed the influence of plasma potassium concentration on QT intervals before drug administration and on drug-induced QT prolongation, to estimate the risk of drug-induced arrhythmia under hypokalaemic conditions. The hypokalaemic models were produced by intraperitoneal administration of furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide in male Sprague-Dawley rats. The relationship between the changes in QT intervals and time profiles of plasma quinidine (QND) concentration were analyzed during constant intravenous infusion of QND (10 or 30 mg/kg/h) and post infusion in normal and hypokalaemic rats. The plasma QND concentration reached the therapeutic range (3-7 microg/ml) at the high infusion rate (30 mg/kg/h). No pharmacokinetic differences between normal and hypokalaemic rats were observed. QND induced QT prolongation in parallel with the plasma concentration without hysteresis. Although the potency of QND for QT prolongation was not affected by hypokalaemia, the QT intervals before drug administration were significantly prolonged in hypokalaemic rats (65.90 +/- 1.40 vs 56.60 +/- 0.748 msec, mean +/- SEM, p < 0.0001). Thus, the prolongation of QT intervals before drug administration may act as a risk factor of arrhythmia under hypokalaemic conditions.  相似文献

This study expands and updates through 1995 our earlier report on influenza vaccine use in 18 developed countries. Five of the six countries with high levels of vaccine use in 1992 (> or = 130 doses/1000 population) showed little change or slight declines over the subsequent 3 years. The exception was the United States, where a new federal program for vaccination reimbursement for the elderly helped to increase vaccine distribution from 144 to 239 doses/1000 population. The six countries with medium levels of vaccine use in 1992 (76-96 doses/1000 population) increased to > or = 100 doses/1000 population by 1995. Among the six low-use countries in 1992 (< or = 65 doses/1000 population), only Finland showed substantial improvement (96 doses/1000 population) in 1995. Four new countries were added to the study. In Germany, vaccine use increased to 80 doses/1000 population in 1995, but in Ireland it remained at a low level (48 doses/1000 population). In Korea, vaccine use increased from 17 to 95 doses/ 1000 population during the period 1987-1995. In Japan, very high levels of vaccine use (approximately 280 doses/1000 population) in the early 1980s were associated with vaccination programs for school children. However, vaccine use fell precipitously when these programs were discontinued, and only 2 and 8 doses/1000 population were used in 1994 and 1995, respectively. In all 22 countries, higher levels of vaccine use were associated with vaccination reimbursement programs under national or social health insurance and were not correlated with different levels of economic development. Excluding Japan, in 1995 there was still a greater than fourfold difference between the highest and lowest levels of vaccine use among the other 21 countries in the study. Given its well established clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness, none of these countries has yet achieved the full benefits of its programs for influenza vaccination.  相似文献

An intermittent and cyclic regimen with All-Trans Retinoic Acid (ATRA) and intensive chemotherapy was conducted due to pharmacokinetic studies on ATRA for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) in children. We have treated 17 children with APL using ATRA for remission induction followed by an intermittent schedule of ATRA plus intensive chemotherapy (APL-ATRA protocol). There were 10 males and 7 females. The median age was 9.0 years old. The median baseline white blood cell count was 12.1 x 10(3)/microliter, hemoglobin 7.8 g/dl, platelet 4.5 x 10(4) microliters at diagnosis. Sixteen patients showed t(15; 17) translocation. RT-PCR analysis was available in 15 patients and showed PML/RAR alpha rearrangement in all patients. Overall, 13 or 17 newly diagnosed patients (88%) achieved complete remission and EFS was 67%. Compared to the control (same chemotherapy without ATRA regimen), remission induction and EFS were significantly increased. The toxicity of ATRA consisted of retinoic acid syndrome in 1 and pseudotumor cerebli in another. Other toxicities included headache, chelitis, gastrointestinal trouble and bone pain. These results suggest that intermittent and cyclic regimen with ATRA and intensive chemotherapy (APL-ATRA protocol) is highly effective for APL patients.  相似文献

The photochemical deposition of phosphorus nitride film on InP substrates using an ArF excimer laser (wavelength = 193 nm) to decompose a mixture of PH3-NH3 gases and synthesise the film is presented. The deposition temperature can be reduced from 480°C used in the thermal-CVD technique to 300°C. The film deposited photochemically exhibits a much larger resistivity and lower leakage current than that obtained by the thermal-CVD technique at 300°C. The minimum interface state density measured by C/V curves is 1012 eV?l cm?2 at (Ec ? 0.3) eV.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To determine the prevalence of hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the serum of cornea donors who had been previously screened by social and medical history by the Eye Bank of Canada, Ontario Division. METHOD: A retrospective examination of the donor records of the Eye Bank of Canada, Ontario Division, was conducted. A total of 3,228 records were examined covering the period from May 17, 1993 to May 31, 1996. RESULTS: The prevalence of HBV was determined to be 0.25%, HCV, 0.93%; and HIV, 0.031%. CONCLUSION: The data revealed that despite the use of medical and social history to prescreen, a small percentage of prescreened donors test serologically positive. A comparison of the prevalence of HBV, HCV, and HIV in the prescreened cornea donors to a similarly screened cohort of blood donors over a similar time period reveals a higher prevalence in all three diseases in the cohort of cornea donors. An examination of the demographic characteristics of the population as a whole versus the three groups with confirmed serology failed to show a significant difference between the seropositive and seronegative groups. This study confirms the value and necessity of serologic prescreening of cornea donors as is currently the standard of practice.  相似文献
