Experimental studies have been carried out on triggering characteristics of the SF6 discharge gap switch by use of XeCl excimer laser (wavelength = 308 nm). First, laser irradiation characteristics are studied on a pure SF6 in the pressure range of p = 160 ~ 3,800 torr. Using a lens of f (focal length) = 133 mm, the laser is irradiated into the gas, where the energy absorption is studied. If the laser is injected into the gas with the energy above a certain threshold for the breakdown, the rate of energy absorption is found to be ~ 17 percent of the incident energy at p > 760 torr. Injecting the laser into the SF6-filled gap switch (gap length = 7 mm, p = 760 torr), we have studied the triggering characteristics. Excellent triggering characteristics were obtained; delay time for the discharge ~ 20 ns, and the jitter ~ 260 ps when the gap voltage is operated at 99 percent of the self-breakdown voltage. In addition, the triggering characteristics are studied by changing the focusing point axially. It is found that both the delay time and the jitter decrease when the focusing point tends to approach the high-voltage electrodes.  相似文献

The recent development of a semiconductor device technology realizes small-size, lightweight, high performance power switching devices. However, reactive elements such as an inductor or a PWM inverter achieves high-performance current control, which is applied to the active filter, and so on [2, 4]. If a compact and high efficient reactive component is developed, the power converter technology may drastically change the application field. In this paper, the concept of variable active-passive reactance (VAPAR) which consists of an inverter and passive elements is proposed. The VAPAR behaves like a two-terminal reactive element and the produced active reactance component works as a passive reactive component, including in transient state. The principle of VAPAR and two possible control schemes to realize VAPAR are realized. Through simulations and experiments, it is verified that VAPAR shows reactive characteristics not only in steady state, but also in transient state, as proposed, and basic characteristics of both control schemes are clarified.  相似文献

Maximally linear digital differentiators (DDs) are known for high accuracy in narrow frequency bands centered at the frequency for which they are designed. In this paper, designs of DDs of odd and even lengths having maximal linearity at the middle of the frequency band are presented. Applying the maximal linearity constraints to the magnitude response of a differentiator gives a system of linear equations, which can be solved for the impulse response coefficients of the differentiator. It is observed that the coefficient matrices of these equations are Vandermonde matrices, and this helps in finding the solution of the equations in closed form. Design examples are presented to show the accuracy of the presented designs, and it is observed that even-length designs are more accurate in a significantly wider frequency band as compared with odd-length designs  相似文献

Experimental exploration of highly spin-polarized states of liquid 3He by applying external magnetic field is limited by the availability of static magnetic field. In the “ferromagnetic” superfluid A1 phase of liquid 3He there is an alternate method for boosting spin-polarization by the process of spin pumping without requiring such high magnetic field. The spin pumping in the A1 phase takes advantage of a superleak (SL) acting simultaneously as a filter for both entropy and spin. The spin pump technique that uses the SL-spin filter and a mechanical actuator enables us to directly boost polarization of 3He. The amount of enhancement of spin polarization has been limited so far. We are now developing a new type of SL filter made of packed aluminum oxide powder (referred as PAP-SL), in order to achieve greater enhancement of spin polarization. Several kinds of the PAP-SL filter were constructed by pressing aluminum oxide powders into a cylinder holder. The packed structures were carefully characterized by a flow-rate-measurement, X-ray tomography, and mercury intrusion porosimetry. The preliminary result shows that the PAP-SL works as SL filter for the superfluid 3He.  相似文献

To elucidate the mechanism and characteristics of boiling heat transfer in a micro‐channel vaporizer, the experimental investigation of the micro‐layer thickness that formed between the heating surface and vapor generated was important. The micro‐layer thickness was measured applying the laser extinction method for channel gap sizes of 0.5, 0.3, and 0.15 mm. It was clarified that the gap size, the rate of bubble growth, and the distance from the incipient bubble site have an effect on the micro‐layer thickness in a micro‐channel boiling system. The initial micro‐layer thickness grew with an increase of the velocity of bubble forefront to moderate the value of the velocity. In the region of greater velocity, the thickness was constant for each gap. The distributions of the initial thickness of micro‐layer on the heat transfer surface were shown. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A technique is presented for realistic rendering in polygon-based computer-generated holograms (CGHs). In this technique, the spatial spectrum of the reflected light is modified to imitate specular reflection. The spectral envelopes of the reflected light are fitted to a spectral shape based on the Phong reflection model used in computer graphics. The technique features fast computation of the field of objects, composed of many specular polygons, and is applicable to creating high-definition CGHs with several billions of pixels. An actual high-definition CGH is created using the proposed technique and is demonstrated for verification of the optical reconstruction of specular surfaces.  相似文献

We present here a fully automated spectral baseline-removal procedure. The method uses a large-window moving average to estimate the baseline; thus, it is a model-free approach with a peak-stripping method to remove spectral peaks. After processing, the baseline-corrected spectrum should yield a flat baseline and this endpoint can be verified with the χ(2)-statistic. The approach provides for multiple passes or iterations, based on a given χ(2)-statistic for convergence. If the baseline is acceptably flat given the χ(2)-statistic after the first pass at correction, the problem is solved. If not, the non-flat baseline (i.e., after the first effort or first pass at correction) should provide an indication of where the first pass caused too much or too little baseline to be subtracted. The second pass thus permits one to compensate for the errors incurred on the first pass. Thus, one can use a very large window so as to avoid affecting spectral peaks--even if the window is so large that the baseline is inaccurately removed--because baseline-correction errors can be assessed and compensated for on subsequent passes. We start with the largest possible window and gradually reduce it until acceptable baseline correction based on the χ(2) statistic is achieved. Results, obtained on both simulated and measured Raman data, are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Transport current and n-value of DyBCO-coated conductor pulled in tension were measured experimentally and their relation to crack-induced current shunting was analyzed with the partial crack-current shunting model. The following features were revealed. The shunting current increases with increasing transport current and with increasing crack size. At low voltage where shunting current is low, the transport current of cracked sample normalized with respect to the transport current in non-cracked state is described with the modified ratio of non-cracked area to overall cross-sectional area of superconducting layer. At high voltage where the shunting current is high, the normalized transport current becomes higher than the modified ratio of non-cracked area. The increase in shunting current with transport current (and voltage) leads to a decrease in n-value at high current (voltage). This phenomenon is enhanced by crack extension.  相似文献

Crystallization of 4He in aerogels of 90 and 96% porosities shows a dynamical phase transition at around 600 mK due to the competition between thermal fluctuation and disorder: crystals grow via creep at high temperatures and via avalanche at low temperatures. In a very high porosity 99.5% aerogel, however, the transition had not been observed in our previous publication (Nomura et al. in Phys. Rev. Lett. 101:175703, 2008). We improved the spatial resolution of the video image and found that the 99.5% aerogel did have the transition at around 200 mK, which is much lower than those of the lower porosities. The avalanche size is significantly smaller in the 99.5% aerogel. The reduction in the transition temperature and avalanche size may be the consequence of weaker disorder for the crystallization in the very high porosity aerogel.  相似文献

Beta-conglycinin, one of the dominant storage proteins of soybean, is a trimer composed of three subunits, alpha, alpha' and beta. All subunits are N-glycosylated and alpha and alpha' contain extension regions in addition to the core regions common to all subunits. Non-glycosylated individual subunits and deletion mutants (alpha(c) and alpha'(c)) lacking the extension regions of alpha and alpha' were expressed in Escherichia coli. All recombinant proteins were purified to near homogeneity and appeared to have the correct conformation, as judged by CD, density-gradient centrifugation and gel-filtration profiles, indicating that the N-linked glycans and extension regions are not essential for the folding and the assembly into trimers of beta-conglycinin. Density-gradient centrifugation, gel-filtration and differential scanning calorimetry profiles of the recombinant proteins and the native beta-conglycinin indicated that the N-linked glycans and extension regions contribute to the dimension of beta-conglycinin but not to the density and the thermal stability. Comparing the solubilities of the individual subunits with those of deletion mutants, only the alpha and alpha' subunits were soluble at lower ionic strength (mu < 0.25) at around the pH value of the endoplasmic reticulum. This suggests that the extension regions play an important role in the prevention of aggregation in the endoplasmic reticulum in analogy with the N-linked glycans.  相似文献
