An intraductal ultrasound (IDUS) probe which is inserted via the papilla into the main pancreatic duct (MPD) was evaluated in the diagnosis of 20 patients with pancreatic cancer. The examination was successfully performed with the probe in 17 of the patients (85%). Due to its high frequency (30 MHz) the probe only allowed visualization of the ductal wall and the immediate periductal vicinity (up to about 10 mm). In 15 of the 20 patients the tumors were surgically resected and IDUS scanning was also performed in vitro on the resection specimens, the results being compared to those of histopathological examination. Of these 15 patients, 13 were found to have ductal adenocarcinomas and all but one had been unequivocally diagnosed as having such by ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). IDUS showed an echorich area (corresponding to cancerous canaliculi on histopathological examination), surrounded by an echopoor area (abundant stroma). This pattern was classified as type I. In two patients with intraductal papillary carcinomas in whom a conclusive diagnosis was not established on US, CT, EUS or ERCP, IDUS showed tumorous tissue with an inhomogeneous echopattern outside (type II) or within (type III) the duct. These results show that IDUS offers valuable diagnostic information complementary to ERCP especially in cases of intraductal papillary tumors. Whether the high resolution imaging of the duct and the paraductal tissue can be used to differentiate between the different forms of pancreatic lesions (inflammation, neoplasms) has to be investigated further.  相似文献

Three IgM class anti-H monoclonal antibodies (1E3, 1E5 and 3H1) were obtained from a BALB/c mouse immunized with human O type saliva. These antibodies were found to agglutinate red cells from O group and A and B subgroups but not from Bombay and para-Bombay individuals whose H antigen was barely detected by anti-H reagents. The agglutination reactions of these antibodies were inhibited by H antigens from human tissues. It was also demonstrated that both 1E3 and 3H1 reacted with H disaccharide (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta), H type 1 (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->3GlcNAc beta), H type 2 (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->4GlcNAc beta), H type 3 (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->3GalNAc alpha) and H type 4 (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->3GalNAc beta) but not with Lea (Gal beta 1-->3[Fuc alpha 1-->4]GlcNAc beta), Leb (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->3[Fuc alpha 1-->4]GlcNAc beta), X (Gal beta 1-->4[Fuc alpha-->3]GlcNAc beta) or Y (Fuc alpha 1-->2Gal beta 1-->4[Fuc alpha 1-->3]GlcNAc beta). On the other hand, 1E5 was found to react with H type 1, H type 2, Leb and Y. Because of the unique reactivities against various fucosyl linkages these monoclonal antibodies could be useful not only as anti-H reagents but also as reagents for the structural analysis of fucosylated glycoconjugates.  相似文献

A 13-week subchronic toxicity study of josamycin was performed in male and female F344 rats to determine the maximum tolerable dose (MTD) for subsequent investigation of the carcinogenicity. As animals refused to take diet containing 5.0% josamycin in our preliminary study, dose levels in the present study were determined as 0, 0.16, 0.32, 0.63, 125 and 2.5% in diet. Rats were randomly allocated to 6 groups, each consisting of 10 males and 10 females. No animal died during the administration period and no group showed significant changes in body weight gain. Definite toxicity of josamycin was not noted in hematological and serum biochemical examinations. Histopathological examinations revealed no particular findings related to josamycin administration except cecal enlargement in the 1.25 and 2.5% groups. based on the results of the present study, it was concluded that the MTD of josamycin in 2.5% in diet, because the dietary dose level of 2.5% proved to exert no significant toxicological signs.  相似文献

This paper describes a load dispatch method which minimizes power cost—[fuel cost]/[electric output]—for a power system with thermal plants and energy storage facilities. The proposed method employs fractional programming to convert a minimization problem with fractional objective function to a series of quadratic minimization problems, and semidefinite programming to solve converted problems. The method provides the optimum time‐dependent power output/input and storage level of energy storage facilities as well as time‐dependent power output of thermal plants. The method has been applied to a power system with five thermal plants, two energy storage facilities of various performances, and five load demands. The optimum load scheme of four time mesh points is obtained for the thermal plants and energy storage facilities. The fractional programming successfully converges the optimal scheme through a few iterations. Antibody titres against Plasmodium falciparum and P. vivax were examined using the indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT) for 183 Gidra-speaking adults and adolescents in four ecologically different villages of lowland Papua New Guinea. The findings highlight that 1) in Gidraland P. falciparum was more prevalent than P. vivax, 2) the proportion of antibody titres of 1:64 or higher markedly differed among the villages, ranging from 35.3% to 100% for males and from 31.6% to 100% for females, and 3) in the two villages with high prevalences, these were higher among males than females. The inter-village and sex differences can be largely explained by microenvironmental conditions and behavioural patterns of the population. The population-based analyses of this study intend to contribute to a better understanding of the prevalence of malaria in human-environment settings and thus to the planning of malaria prevention.  相似文献

The characteristics of molecular mtin of ferroelectric copolymer VDF(73)/TrFE(27) have been investigated by means of dielectric relaxation. With the rise in crystallinity. the Curie point decreases and the dielectric constant increases in the region of ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition. The frequency spectra of the coplymer below room temperature consist of lowfrequency component ascribed to the micro-Brownian motions of molecular segments in the noncrystalline regins and high-frequency cmponent associated with the local motions of smallscale segments. By using the fitting results with one or two Cole-Cole functions, and calculating with WLF equation and Arrhenius formula, the glass transition temperature and the activation energy of local relaxation are obtained. the distribution of relaxation time in the molten and ferroelectric phases is located at a same line, and complies with Arrhenius ruIe, which suggests that the elementary motions are of same type for molecular motions provided by the hightemperature process and the low-temperature local mode process  相似文献

Polystyrene (PS)/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) prototype brushes were prepared by alternating free‐radical copolymerization of methacryloyl‐terminated PS and α‐vinylbenzyl‐ω‐hydroxy or α‐vinylbenzyl‐ω‐perfluoroalkyl (Rf) PEO macromonomers with the addition of Lewis acid (SnCl4). It was found from their dilute‐solution properties that PS/PEO end‐capped with Rf (PBRf), and PS/PEO having OH groups at terminal ends (PBOH) prototype brushes formed a single molecule in benzene and aggregates in chloroform, respectively. However, the brush PBOH formed a single molecule in N,N‐dimethylformamide. Such aggregation behaviors seemed to be caused by the interaction between hydroxy groups of PEO chain ends. The brush PBOH was also converted into PBRf‐type brush by chemical modification, using corresponding acid chloride. Virtual exploration tools for large indoor environments (e.g. museums) have so far been limited to either blueprint-style 2D maps that lack photo-realistic views of scenes, or ground-level image-to-image transitions, which are immersive but ill-suited for navigation. On the other hand, photorealistic aerial maps would be a useful navigational guide for large indoor environments, but it is impossible to directly acquire photographs covering a large indoor environment from aerial viewpoints. This paper presents a 3D reconstruction and visualization system for automatically producing clean and well-regularized texture-mapped 3D models for large indoor scenes, from ground-level photographs and 3D laser points. The key component is a new algorithm called “inverse constructive solid geometry (CSG)” for reconstructing a scene with a CSG representation consisting of volumetric primitives, which imposes powerful regularization constraints. We also propose several novel techniques to adjust the 3D model to make it suitable for rendering the 3D maps from aerial viewpoints. The visualization system enables users to easily browse a large-scale indoor environment from a bird’s-eye view, locate specific room interiors, fly into a place of interest, view immersive ground-level panorama views, and zoom out again, all with seamless 3D transitions. We demonstrate our system on various museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City—one of the largest art galleries in the world.  相似文献
