White mold and stem rot is a common disease of Phaseolus vulgaris caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Biological control is a promising alternative for the control of this disease. In the present study, two Trichoderma spp., T. erinaceum and T. viride, and the consortium of both were evaluated as biocontrol agents against sclerotinia stem rot disease. The results revealed that T. erinaceum (NAIMCC-F-02171) and T. viride (NAIMCC-F-02500) when applied alone, significantly suppressed the infection rate of S. sclerotiorum and increased the rate of survival of plants by 74.5%. On the contrary, the combination of both the Trichoderma spp. was found to be more effective in reducing stem rot by 57.2% and increasing the survival of plants by 87.5% when compared to the individual Trichoderma applications. Further, the exogenous supplementation of Trichoderma activated antioxidative machineries, such as peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and ascorbic acid in the plant. Besides, hydrogen peroxide and superoxide-free radical accumulation were also found to be reduced when T. erinaceum and T. viride were used either individually or in combination under the pathogen-challenged condition. Additionally, the photopigments in the bioprimed plants were markedly increased. Moreover, the combined inoculation of the two isolates yielded the highest records of growth parameters (root weight, shoot length, and leaf weight) compared with individual inoculation. Therefore, based on the above results, it was concluded that the combination of T. erinaceum and T. viride can be effectively used as an alternative to control white mold and stem rot caused by S. sclerotiorum.  相似文献

This retrospective study aims to evaluate the correlation between the shape of the mandibular condylar head and the incidence of unilateral condylar fracture using computed tomography.Medical records of patients diagnosed with unilateral condylar fractures from the year 2012–2019 were reviewed. The shape of the condylar head on the non - fractured side was analysed using a Radiant Dicom Viewer. The analysis was done using both visual and analytical methods. In the analytical method, a horizontal line was drawn at the base of the curvature of the condylar head. The highest peak point of the head was marked, and a perpendicular line was drawn connecting the highest point to the horizontal line. The shape was categorized into four types as convex, flat, angled, and round based on these lines.201 CT scans were examined, of which 69 were excluded as they did not meet the inclusion criteria. The remaining 132 were included in our study. On examining the shape, flat-shaped condyle was seen in 57 scans (43.2%), followed by convex in 31 scans (23.4%), angled in 30 (22.7%) and round in 14 scans (10.6%). The relationship between the shape of the mandibular condylar head and the incidence of unilateral condylar fracture was analysed using a chi-square test, which showed high statistical significance (p value 0.0001). The flat-shaped condylar head was more prone to fracture, and the round-shaped condylar head was least prone to fracture.In conclusion, the shape of the mandibular condylar head had a statistically significant association with the incidence of unilateral condylar fracture. The assessment of the shape of the condylar head can be taken as a guide to suspect condylar fractures and other associated mandibular fractures.  相似文献

Metal-free organic polymer photocatalysts have attracted dramatic attention in the field of visible light-induced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we showed a polymeric O-linked heptazine polymer (OLHP) decorated with S, N co-doped graphene quantum dots (S,N-GQDs) as a photosensitizer to generate hydrogen upon quantum dot sensitization. Both of these heptazine-based systems show effective photosensitization with strong π–π interactions and enhanced photocatalytic H2 generation (24 times) as metal-free systems. Electrochemical impedance and optical measurements show effective charge transfer kinetics with decreased charge recombination, which is responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity. As a result, a significant high apparent quantum yield (AQY) with highest value of 10.2% was obtained for our photocatalyst OLHP/S,N-GQD10.

A new class of non-ionic amphiphiles is synthesized using a diaryl derivative of diglycerol as a central core and functionalizing it with long alkyl chains (C-12/C-15) and monomethoxy PEG moiety (Mn: 350/550) by following a chemo-enzymatic approach. The aggregation behavior of the amphiphiles in aqueous medium is studied by using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and fluorescence spectroscopy, whereas the size and morphology of the aggregates are studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A hydrophobic dye, Nile red and a hydrophobic drug, nimodipine, are used to demonstrate the nano-carrier capability of these non-ionic amphiphilic systems and the results are compared with amphiphilic analogues obtained from the triaryl derivatives of triglycerol. The in vitro controlled release of the encapsulated dye is successfully carried out in the presence of immobilized Candida antarctica lipase (Novozym 435). Furthermore, cytotoxicity data is also collected which suggests that the amphiphiles are suitable for biomedical applications.

Augmentation rhinoplasty can be carried out using a wide range of materials including autologous bone and/or cartilage as well as alloplasts. Use of biologic bone and cartilage grafts results in lower infection rates, but they are associated with long-term resorption and donor-site morbidity. Alloplastic materials, in particular silicone, have been associated in literature with extrusion, necrosis of the tip, mobility and deviation or displacement of the implant, immobile nasal tip and infection. However, they have the advantages of being readily available and easy to reshape with no requirement for harvesting autografts.

Aim:

To overcome these problems associated with silicone implants for which the authors have devised a novel technique, the “rideon technique”.

Materials and Methods:

The present study was carried out on 11 patients over a period of 4 years. The authors have devised a simple technique to fix the silicone implant and retain it in place. Restricting the implant to only dorsum avoided common complications related to the silicone implant.

Results:

The authors have used this technique in 11 patients with encouraging results. Follow-up ranged from 12 months to 36 months during which patients were assessed for implant mobility, implant extrusion and tip necrosis. There was no incidence of above mentioned complications in these patients.

Conclusion:

The “rideon technique” provides excellent stability to silicone implants and restricting the implant only to dorsum not only eliminates chances of tip necrosis and thus implant extrusion but also maintains natural shape, feel and mobility of the tip.KEY WORDS: Alloplasts, autografts, rhinoplasty, silicone implants  相似文献

Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a common condition and is associated with excess morbidity and mortality, in spite of the many advances in its treatment. Chronic stable heart failure is also associated with an increased incidence of sleep-related breathing disorders, such as central sleep apnoea (CSA) and Cheyne Stokes respiration (CSR). Continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) has been shown to alleviate the symptoms of CHF, improve left ventricular function and oxygenation. To a certain extent, CPAP also abolishes sleep-related breathing disorders in patients with chronic heart failure. In patients with acute pulmonary oedema, the use of positive pressure ventilation improves cardiac haemodynamic indices, as well as symptoms and oxygenation, and is associated with a lower need for intubation. However, some studies have cast doubts about its safety and suggest a higher rate of myocardial infarction associated with its use. In our opinion, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation and CPAP offers an adjunctive mode of therapy in patients with acute pulmonary oedema and chronic heart failure, who may not be suitable for intubation and in those not responsive to conventional therapies. Non-invasive ventilation also helps to improve oxygenation in those patients with exhaustion and respiratory acidosis. Many trials are still ongoing and the results of these studies would throw more light on the present role of non-invasive ventilation in the management of CHF.  相似文献

We describe an angular multiplexed imaging technique for 3-D in vivo cell tracking of sparse cell distributions and optical projection tomography (OPT) with superior time-lapse resolution and a significantly reduced light dose compared to volumetric time-lapse techniques. We demonstrate that using dual axis OPT, where two images are acquired simultaneously at different projection angles, can enable localization and tracking of features in 3-D with a time resolution equal to the camera frame rate. This is achieved with a 200x reduction in light dose compared to an equivalent volumetric time-lapse single camera OPT acquisition with 200 projection angles. Medial collateral ligament of the knee is an important coronal stabiliser and often injured in isolation or as combination of injuries. The article reports a case of incarcerated medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in combination with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in 20 year old male who presented to us 4 weeks after injury. Clinical examination and MRI was correlated to complete ACL tear with torn distal MCL and incarceration into the joint. Patient was taken up for ACL hamstring graft reconstruction with mini-arthrotomy and repair of the torn MCL. Patient was followed up with dedicated rehabilitation protocol with good functional results. At one year follow-up, patient exhibited full range of motion with negative Lachman, Pivot shift and valgus stress tests. This article highlights the rare pattern of MCL tear and also reviews the literature on this pattern of injury.  相似文献
