Viscosity of porous glasses has been derived from the elastic stress analysis, using the viscous analogy. Viscosity as a function of porosity has been estimated for spherical as well as for arbitrary pore geometry. Since the pore geometry changes during sintering, a shape factor that varies with pore geometry has been considered to predict the viscosity–porosity relationship. Viscosity as a function of porosity was measured on cordierite-type glass by isothermal sinter-forging experiments and data showed good agreement with the analysis. Experimental data from literature on viscosity as a function of porosity on two other glasses also show good agreement with the analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, navigation techniques for several mobile robots as many as one thousand robots using fuzzy logic are investigated in a totally unknown environment. Fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) using different membership functions are developed and used to navigate mobile robots. First a fuzzy controller has been used with four types of input members, two types of output members and three parameters each. Next two types of fuzzy controllers have been developed having same input members and output members with five parameters each. Each robot has an array of ultrasonic sensors for measuring the distances of obstacles around it and an infrared sensor for detecting the bearing of the target. These techniques have been demonstrated in various exercises, which depicts that the robots are able to avoid obstacles as well as negotiate the dead ends and reach the targets efficiently. Amongst the techniques developed, FLC having Gaussian membership function is found to be most efficient for mobile robots navigation.  相似文献

The 3D Underwater Sensor Network (USNs) has become the most optimistic medium for tracking and monitoring underwater environment. Energy and collision are two most critical factors in USNs for both sparse and dense regions. Due to harsh ocean environment, it is a challenge to design a reliable energy efficient with collision free protocol. Diversity in link qualities may cause collision and frequent communication lead to energy loss; that effects the network performance. To overcome these challenges a novel protocol Forwarder Selection Energy Efficient Routing (FSE2R) is proposed. Our proposal’s key idea is based on computation of node distance from the sink, Residual Energy (RE) of each node and Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR). The node distance from sink and RE is computed for reliable forwarder node selection and SINR is used for analysis of collision. The novel proposal compares with existing protocols like H2AB, DEEP, and E2LR to achieve Quality of Service (QoS) in terms of throughput, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption. The comparative analysis shows that FSE2R gives on an average 30% less energy consumption, 24.62% better PDR and 48.31% less end-to-end delay compared to other protocols.  相似文献

Power-system stability improvement by a static synchronous series compensator (SSSC)-based damping controller is thoroughly investigated in this paper. The design problem of the proposed controller is formulated as an optimization problem, and real coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) is employed to search for the optimal controller parameters. Both local and remote signals with associated time delays are considered in the present study and a comparison has been made between the two signals. The performances of the proposed controllers are evaluated under different disturbances for both single-machine infinite-bus power system and multi-machine power system. Simulation results are presented and compared with a recently published modern heuristic optimization technique under various disturbances to show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

Conventional derivative based learning rule poses stability problem when used in adaptive identification of infinite impulse response (IIR) systems. In addition the performance of these methods substantially deteriorates when reduced order adaptive models are used for such identification. In this paper the IIR system identification task is formulated as an optimization problem and a recently introduced cat swarm optimization (CSO) is used to develop a new population based learning rule for the model. Both actual and reduced order identification of few benchmarked IIR plants is carried out through simulation study. The results demonstrate superior identification performance of the new method compared to that achieved by genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) based identification.  相似文献
