Use of a specialized soft drink based on plant raw material in nutrition of patients with diabetes mellitus

The using of the low calorie soft drink "Forest gift" based on plant raw and enriched with vitamin C and iodine by patients with diabetes mellitus has resulted in the improvement of carbohydrates metabolism, provision of iodine and vitamin C and oxidant status of organism. Obtained data has promised to recommend this product for using in patient's ration.     

Experimental animal study of the safety of biologically active food supplement obtained from ginseng root

The aim of present study was an investigations of safety of product "Bioton-1" which is suggested as biologically active food additive. Long-term intake the product "Bioton-1" by the rats Wistar during 6 month at doses of 0.75 ml per kg of body weight hadn't an unfavorable effects on integral, biochemical, hemotologic and morphologic parameters of animals. It was shown on two generations of rats that "Bioton-1" hadn't an embryotoxic, gonadotoxic and teratogenic effects and also hadn't negative effect on growth and development of posterity of rats. Including into the diet of rats product "Bioton-1" at dose of 0.25 per kg of body weight during the whole life hadn't an effect on animals life duration.

Antineoplastic and toxic effects of blastolysin in the treatment of spontaneous mammary cancer in dogs

The anticancer activity and toxicity of blastolysin were studied in 13 dogs with mammary cancer using two different schedules. The agent was given 5 times in a dose of 2.5-10 mg/kg with a 72 h interval (the first schedule) and 10 times in a dose of 0.4-1.7 mg/kg in 24 h (the second schedule). The first schedule exhibited the highest anticancer effect with the least toxicity. Blastolysin was found to depress erythropoiesis.     

Nutritional pattern of the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" Arctic expedition]

Data on the chemical composition, nutritional value and caloricity of food ration used by the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" expedition during ski marches in the Arctics are reported. The rations consisted chiefly of dehydrated products and weighed 800-1000 g. The daily caloricity of the rations amounted to 3400 and 4400 great calories.     

Risk factors and etiological structure of children's cross-allergic reactions to food products

Authors of article have recently analyzed the frequency of prevalence and risk factors of cross-reactivity to foodstuffs among 239 children of Abakan in the age of from 6 months till 15 years with skin, respiratory and combined manifestation of atopy. It was proved that risk factors of development of cross-reactivity to food among children of the first years of life are hereditary predisposition to allergic diseases (77.8%) and early introductions of supplemental feeding (44%). Among children older then 7 years pollen sensitization (62%) which preceded the development of cross allergic reactions between separate foodstuffs reaches up to 73.7%, between pollen and foodstuff up to 79% and between epidermal and food up to 10.1%.
