The object of this contribution is the comparison of the statistical characteristics of yield strength, ultimate strength and ductility of Austrian and Czech steels. In an independent manner, basic material characteristics of steel products of both Austrian and Czech producers were statistically evaluated at the Vienna and the Brno Universities to guarantee the maximum objectivity of the results obtained and of the conclusions drawn from them. The comprehensive individual field-measurements on non-dietary exposure collected in the Children's-Post-Pesticide-Application-Exposure-Study (CPPAES) were used within MENTOR/SHEDS-Pesticides, a physically based stochastic human exposure and dose model. In this application, however, the model was run deterministically. The MENTOR/SHEDS-Pesticides employed the CPPAES as input variables to simulate the exposure and the dose profiles for seven children over a 2-week post-application period following a routine residential and professional indoor crack-and-crevice chlorpyrifos application. The input variables were obtained from a personal activity diary, microenvironmental measurements and personal biomonitoring data obtained from CPPAES samples collected from the individual children and in their homes. Simulation results were compared with CPPAES field measured values obtained from the children's homes to assess the utility of the different microenvironmental data collected in CPPAES, i.e. indicator toys and wipe samplers to estimate aggregate exposures that can be result from one or more exposure pathways and routes. The final analyses of the database involved comparisons of the actual data obtained from the individual biomarker samples of a urinary metabolite of chlorpyrifos (TCPy) and the values predicted by MENTOR/SHEDS-Pesticides using the CPPAES-derived variables. Because duplicate diet samples were not part of the CPPAES study design, SHEDs-Pesticides simulated dose profiles did not account for the dietary route. The research provided more confidence in the types of data that can be used in the inhalation and dermal contact modules of MENTOR/SHEDS-Pesticides to predict the pesticide dose received by a child. It was determined that we still need additional understanding about: (1) the types of activities and durations of activities that result in non-dietary ingestion of pesticides and (2) the influence of dietary exposures on the levels of TCPy found in the urine. 相似文献

The synthesis of N‐heteroaryl(trifluoromethyl)hydroxyalkanoic acid esters by solid acid‐catalyzed Friedel–Crafts hydroxyalkylation of indoles and pyrroles with ethyl 3,3,3‐trifluoropyruvate and ethyl 4,4,4‐trifluoroacetoacetate is described. The inexpensive and readily available K‐10 montmorillonite is found to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of a wide variety of trifluoromethylated indol‐3‐yl‐ and pyrrol‐2‐yl‐hydroxypropionic and ‐butanoic acid esters. Using a series of substituted indoles and pyrroles the corresponding products were isolated in excellent yield (up to 98%) and 100% selectivity under mild experimental conditions, during very short reaction times. Beyond these, the ease of product isolation, catalyst stability and handling make this process an attractive, environmentally benign alternative for the synthesis of the target compounds. 相似文献

Results of a study of the possibility of using some tungsten-free ceramic materials based on borides, oxides, and nitrides
for the finishing treatment of precision parts of fuel equipment are considered. The materials were estimated with respect
to the rate of removal of the metal of the part, the wear of the lap per one part, its life before regrinding, and the roughness
of the surface of the part after finishing. The effect of the grain size, the ultimate bending strength, the porosity, and
the hardness of the material on the service characteristics of the laps is described. It is shown that ceramic materials can
be used for fabricating the functional parts of laps for finishing precision parts of fuel equipment.

A monochromator∕Fizeau interferometer∕intensified CCD camera system is described that was developed for the measurement of the shape of spectral lines that are rapidly time varying. The most important operating parameter that determines the performance of the instrument is the size of the entrance aperture as this determines both the light throughput and the effective interferometer wavelength resolution. This paper discusses, both theoretically and experimentally, the effect of the finite source area on the instrumental resolution to assist in optimizing the choice of this parameter. A second effect that often produces a practical limit to the quality of the spectra is drift of the interferometer plates. Measurements of the shapes of spectral lines of ions and atoms ejected from the cathode spot of continuous and pulsed cathodic arcs are presented to demonstrate the utility of this instrument. 相似文献

The time course of the vinblastine(-sulfate; 10 mg/kg body weight, single injection)-induced enlargement and subsequent regression of the autolysosomal compartment was studied by electron microscopic morphometrical and cell biochemical methods in order to gain information concerning some key problems of this major route of intralysosomal degradation of the cell's endogenous macromolecules and structures. Detailed analysis of the dynamics of the total autophagic vacuole (AV) compartment and its different subcompartments (early, advanced, late, and fused AVs), as well as of changes of rough-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum (RER) showed: 1. Pancreatic acinar cells react to vinblastine biphasically, i.e. two expansion phases of the AV compartment, the first in the 0 to 90 min and the second in the 2 to 8 h post-injectional periods, were detected. 2. Fusions of AVs are not inhibited by vinblastine, at least during the second expansion phase when cytoplasmic volume fraction (CVF) of fused AVs steadily increased until the 12th h. Fusion of early, advanced and late AVs or composition of fused complex vacuoles (AVc) are somehow regulated, as the proportion of the three AV stages from the CVF of AVc, was maintained constant throughout the second expansion phase. 3. Stimulation of autophagosome formation and resulting substrate overload seems to be the primary mode of action by which vinblastine causes the enormous expansion of the autolysosomal compartment. 4. Degranulation of the rough-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum (RER) membranes occurs in a biphasic fashion, similarly to the volume and surface changes of the AV compartment, thus supporting our previous hypothesis, that labilization or change of RER may have a role in the formation of autophagosomes. 5. Vinblastine-induced autophagocytosis is a selective process, as mitochondria, Golgi elements and zymogen granules are very much underrepresented, whereas RER is more than twice overrepresented in the volume of early AVs, when compared to their volume fraction in the whole cytoplasm. 6. Immunogold electron microscopy revealed the presence of ubiquitinylated proteins in advanced and late, but not in early AVs. 相似文献

We investigated a family with optic atrophy which occurred in childhood or early adulthood plus late-onset cerebellar ataxia. The magnetic resonance imaging in the proband revealed cerebellar atrophy. The proband and her brother were homoplasmic for the most common mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) 11778 mutation associated with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON). This study showed further evidence that central nervous system lesions can occur in cases of LHON mtDNA mutation. 相似文献
