Dynamic behavior and frequency analysis of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with finite length are investigated using an analytical method. By applying multiple elastic shells and a linearized model of van der Waals forces, a comprehensive continuum dynamic model of MWCNTs is developed. Also, by utilizing Laplace transform, time histories of MWCNTs subjected to shock lading are obtained. Then by using the fast Fourier transform (FFT), the time responses are transferred to the frequency domain and natural frequencies are found. The accuracy of results is verified by comparing the results of sudden loading with those obtained by numerical methods. Furthermore, an abrupt unloading after ramp loading is simulated, and the dependency of diameter and length on the axial and radial natural frequencies of MWCNTs is examined. Also, by characterizing the longitudinal displacement, the wave propagation velocities are obtained and an explicit expression is found for the axial natural frequencies of MWCNTs subjected to shock loading.  相似文献

Text visualization is concerned with the representation of text in a graphical form to facilitate comprehension of large textual data. Its aim is to improve the ability to understand and utilize the wealth of text-based information available. An essential task in any scientific research is the study and review of previous works in the specified domain, a process that is referred to as the literature survey process. This process involves the identification of prior work and evaluating its relevance to the research question. With the enormous number of published studies available online in digital form, this becomes a cumbersome task for the researcher. This paper presents the design and implementation of a tool that aims to facilitate this process by identifying relevant work and suggesting clusters of articles by conceptual modeling, thus providing different options that enable the researcher to visualize a large number of articles in a graphical easy-to-analyze form. The tool helps the researcher in analyzing and synthesizing the literature and building a conceptual understanding of the designated research area. The evaluation of the tool shows that researchers have found it useful and that it supported the process of relevant work analysis given a specific research question, and 70% of the evaluators of the tool found it very useful.  相似文献

Besides one dimensional beam-type MEMS, two dimensional electrically actuated rectangular micro-plates have lots of applications in micro-engineering. However, there exist only a few works devoted to the analysis of such structures in the open literature to date. Therefore, the present work focuses on the dynamic behavior of electrically actuated rectangular micro-plates under mechanical shock. The micro-plate is modeled using the non-linear Kirchhoff plate theory and the shock is assumed to be induced according to the base excitation scheme. The micro-plate motion is simulated through a novel and computationally very efficient reduced order model which accounts for the inherent non-linearity of distributed electrostatic pressure and the geometric non-linearity of von Kármán mid-plane stretching as well as the influences of both in-plane and out-of-plane displacements. The present findings are compared and successfully validated by those obtained through three-dimensional finite element analysis carried out in COMSOL Multiphysics commercial software as well as the available static results in the literature. It is found that the present procedure can remove the long run-time limitation of the finite element method and produce robust results over the whole operation range of the device up to its instability threshold especially for systems subjected to enormous shock accelerations.  相似文献

Mobile terminals can typically connect to multiple wireless networks which offer varying levels of suitability for different classes of service. Due to the changing dynamics of network attributes and mobile users’ traffic needs, vertical handovers across heterogeneous networks become highly desirable. Multiple attribute decision making (MADM) techniques offer an efficient approach for ranking competing networks and selecting the best one according to specific quality of service parameters. In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to optimize network attributes’ weighting by emphasizing ranking differences among candidate networks, thereby aiding correct decision making by reducing unnecessary handovers and ranking abnormalities. The performance of the proposed GA-based vertical handover is investigated with typical MADM techniques including Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The results show that the proposed GA-based weight determination approach reduces the abnormality observed in the conventional SAW and TOPSIS techniques substantially. The results of this paper will help ensuring the application of MADM methods to more dynamic and challenging decision making problems encountered in wireless network.  相似文献

The flexibility and low damping of the long-span suspended cables in the suspension bridges make them prone to vibrations due to wind and moving loads, which affect the dynamic response of the suspended cables and the bridge deck. This paper shows the design of two control schemes to control the nonlinear vibrations in the suspended cable and the bridge deck due to a vertical load moving on the bridge deck with a constant speed. The first control scheme is an optimal state feedback controller. The second control scheme is a robust state feedback controller, whose design is based on the design of optimal controllers. The proposed controllers, whose design is based on Lyapunov theory, guarantee the asymptotic stability of the system. A vertical cable between the bridge deck and the suspended cable is used to install a hydraulic actuator able to generate the active control force on the bridge deck. The MATLAB software is used to simulate the performance of the system with the designed controllers. The simulation results indicate that the proposed controllers are capable of significantly reducing the nonlinear oscillations of the system. In addition, the performance of the system with the proposed controllers is compared to the performance of the system controlled with a velocity feedback controller. It is found that the system with the proposed controllers can provide better performance than the system with the velocity feedback controller.  相似文献

In the present study a continuum model based on the nonlocal elasticity theory is developed for free vibration analysis of embedded orthotropic thick circular and elliptical nano-plates rested on an elastic foundation. The elastic foundation is considered to behave like a Pasternak type of foundations. Governing equations for vibrating nano-plate are derived according to the Mindlin plate theory in which the effects of shear deformations of nano-plate are also included. The Galerkin method is then employed to obtain the size dependent natural frequencies of nano-plate. The solution procedure considers the entire nano-plate as a single super-continuum element. Effect of nonlocal parameter, lengths of nano-plate, aspect ratio, mode number, material properties, thickness and foundation on circular frequencies are investigated. It is seen that the nonlocal frequencies of the nano-plate are smaller in comparison to those from the classical theory and this is more pronounced for small lengths and higher vibration modes. It is also found that as the aspect ratio increases or the nanoplate becomes more elliptical, the small scale effect on natural frequencies increases. Further, it is observed that the elastic foundation decreases the influence of nonlocal parameter on the results. Since the effect of shear deformations plays an important role in vibration analysis and design of nano-plates, by predicting smaller values for fundamental frequencies, the study of these nano-structures using thick plate theories such as Mindlin plate theory is essential.  相似文献

Fuel cell technology based on stationary and mobile applications is needing new hydrogen storage materials equipped with huge gravimetric and volumetric hydrogen densities. Examining the fundamental properties of hydrides is an important part of such process, mainly to understand the structure change's impact on the hydrogen storage. Herein, we applied ab-initio density functional theory using full potential linear augmented plane method to explore the effect of rubidium and cesium doping in sodium borohydride, NaBH4. The electronic structure calculations exposed the semiconducting nature of NaBH4 and derived doped structures NaRbBH4 and NaCsBH4. The hydrogen (H2) storage capacity is found 10.66 wt %, 3.27 wt % and 2.36 wt % within a reasonable free energy of ?28.514 kJ/mol, ?29.709 kJ, ?28.51 kJ/mol for NaBH4, NaRbBH4 and NaCsBH4 respectively from quasi-harmonic approximation. Also, we extracted the heat capacity and Debye temperature from vibrational analysis based on phonon calculation. The discovered features show the potential use of presented sodium borohydrides for practical H2 storage devices.  相似文献

The Internet of Things (IoT) has recently become a popular technology that can play increasingly important roles in every aspect of our daily life. For collaboration between IoT devices and edge cloud servers, edge server nodes provide the computation and storage capabilities for IoT devices through the task offloading process for accelerating tasks with large resource requests. However, the quantitative impact of different offloading architectures and policies on IoT applications’ performance remains far from clear, especially with a dynamic and unpredictable range of connected physical and virtual devices. To this end, this work models the performance impact by exploiting a potential latency that exhibits within the environment of edge cloud. Also, it investigates and compares the effects of loosely-coupled (LC) and orchestrator-enabled (OE) architecture. The LC scheme can smoothly address task redistribution with less time consumption for the offloading sceneries with small scale and small task requests. Moreover, the OE scheme not only outperforms the LC scheme in the large-scale tasks requests and offloading occurs but also reduces the overall time by 28.19%. Finally, to achieve optimized solutions for optimal offloading placement with different constraints, orchestration is important.  相似文献

This paper is focused on the transient dynamic and free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) axisymmetric truncated conical shells with non-uniform thickness. Two numerically efficient and accurate solution methods are presented to study the transient dynamic responses of FG shells subjected to either internal or external mechanical shock loading. Employing the displacement-based layerwise theory in conjunction with the Hamilton’s principle, the transversely discretized equations of motion are obtained. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is used to discretize the resulting equations in the axial direction. To solve the developed time-dependent equations, either DQM (named LWDQ) or Newmark’s time integration scheme (named LWDQN) is employed. The material properties are graded continuously in the thickness direction according to a volume fraction power-law distribution. The developed results are successfully compared with those obtained by ANSYS and also with the available results in the literature. The comparisons demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the aforementioned methods on achievement of fast convergence rate with relatively low computational cost. Finally, the effects of different geometric and material parameters on the dynamic behavior of the FG shells are investigated. Due to high accuracy of the method, the results can be used as benchmarks for future research.  相似文献
