Hydrofining of heavy vacuum gas oil on modified alumina-nickel-molybdenum catalysts

Modified industrial alumina-nickel-molybdenum catalysts manufactured by OOO NZK have been tested in the mode of hydrotreating of heavy vacuum gas oil on a pilot plant of OAO Middle Volga Research Institute of Oil Refining (OAO SvNIINP). A change in hydrocarbon-type and structural-group composition of gas oils during the hydrogen treatment process has been considered. It has been found that hydrotreating on the GR-24M, NKYu-300, and NKYu-330 catalysts under the examined conditions (340?C400°C, 4.0 MPa, 0.5?C1 h^?1, hydrogen: feedstock ratio of 500?C800: 1 Nm³/m³) leads to a reduction in sulfur, nitrogen, and metal contents of the gas oil and to saturation of polyaromatic compounds with hydrogen, thereby facilitating the further destruction of the feedstock in a catalytic cracker.

One hundred and twenty seven patients belonging to Neurosurgery (49), Neuromedicine (48), Cardiac medicine (30) wards and Blood donors (30) as healthy controls were investigated for the prevalence of Toxoplasmosis by means of detecting specific IgM antibody against Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) employing Enzyme Immuno Assay (EIA). The detection rate of specific IgM antibody against T.gondii was found to be 32.7% (16/49) among Neurosurgery patients, 20.8% (10/48) among Neuromedical patients and 20% (6/30) among Cardiac medical patients. None of the voluntary blood donors tested was found to have T. gondii IgM antibody. Maximum prevalence rate was found among female patients undergoing Neurosurgery (42.3%) followed by Neuromedical patients (40%). There is an increasing rate of prevalence of Toxoplasmosis from the lower age group upto thirty years and a declining prevalence rate among the higher age groups. The present study revealed high prevalence rate of Toxoplasmosis in Neurosurgery patients (32.7%) and in particular among female (35.2%) than male (17.8%) patients.     

Production of white oil bases by hydrogenation of olefin oligomers

It was shown that iodine numbers of less than 1 g I₂/100 g are obtained during hydrogenation of olefin oligomers on a platinum-containing catalyst with optimum parameters. This ensures obtaining white oil stocks that satisfy all current requirements. Stock for hydraulic, aviation, cable, compressor, and other oils can be separated from the hydrogenated products.     

Effects of Purification on the Electrical Insulation Provided by Transformer Oils

A study has been made on the effects of purification on the electrical installation of transformer oil. There is scope for improving the quality of oil made in accordance with GOST 10121 to reach the level corresponding to oils T–750 and T–1500. Oils of T–750 type may be made by completing the treatment of transformer oil with selective purification.
