Poly(oxyethylene 20 sorbitan) monolaurate (Tween® 20) methacrylates were synthesized by coupling methacryloyl chloride (MeOCl) to Tween 20 in the presence of 4-(N,N-dimethylamino) pyridine, using THF as a solvent, in order to investigate their suitability as precursors for photopolymerizable hydrogels in tissue engineering applications. The degree of substitution could be controlled by adjusting the molar ratio of MeOCl and Tween 20, giving three different monomers: Tween 20 monomethacrylate, Tween 20 dimethacrylate and Tween 20 trimethacrylate. Combined 1 H NMR and MALDI-TOF MS confirmed these monomers to be of high purity and to have polydispersities less than 1.3. It was shown that aqueous solutions of the monomers were photoactive, all the methacrylate groups reacting within 30 minutes exposure to a UV light intensity of 145 mW/cm2. Aqueous Tween 20 trimethacrylate was then combined with N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP), giving tough copolymer hydrogels on photopolymerization, whose swelling ratios and swelling rates could be tuned by varying the Tween 20 trimethacrylate content. The use of a flexible spacer with a multifunctional monomer gives a permanent three-dimensional network, whilst maintaining degrees of swelling of between 60 and 85%, with potential for a wide range of biological and non-biological applications. 相似文献

We present a perception system for enabling automated loading with waist-articulated wheel loaders. To enable autonomous loading of piled materials, using either above-ground wheel loaders or underground load-haul-dump vehicles, 3D data of the pile shape is needed. However, using common 3D scanners, the scan data is distorted while the wheel loader is moving towards the pile. Existing methods that make use of 3D scan data (for autonomous loading as well as tasks such as mapping, localisation, and object detection) typically assume that each 3D scan is accurate. For autonomous robots moving over rough terrain, it is often the case that the vehicle moves a substantial amount during the acquisition of one 3D scan, in which case the scan data will be distorted. We present a study of auto-loading methods, and how to locate piles in real-world scenarios with nontrivial ground geometry. We have compared how consistently each method performs for live scans acquired in motion, and also how the methods perform with different view points and scan configurations. The system described in this paper uses a novel method for improving the quality of distorted 3D scans made from a vehicle moving over uneven terrain. The proposed method for improving scan quality is capable of increasing the accuracy of point clouds without assuming any specific features of the environment (such as planar walls), without resorting to a “stop-scan-go” approach, and without relying on specialised and expensive hardware. Each new 3D scan is registered to the preceding using the normal-distributions transform (NDT). After each registration, a mini-loop closure is performed with a local, per-scan, graph-based SLAM method. To verify the impact of the quality improvement, we present data that shows how auto-loading methods benefit from the corrected scans. The presented methods are validated on data from an autonomous wheel loader, as well as with simulated data. The proposed scan-correction method increases the accuracy of both the vehicle trajectory and the point cloud. We also show that it increases the reliability of pile-shape measures used to plan an efficient attack pose when performing autonomous loading. 相似文献

In this paper, we study control of a chain of integrators under actuator saturation and non‐additive disturbances. We shall show that boundedness of the states can be ensured if the disturbances are matched and integral‐bounded, misaligned and magnitude‐bounded, or a combination of the two, using either a static or a dynamic low‐gain state feedback. Software failures in medical devices can lead to catastrophic situations. Therefore, it is crucial to handle software-related risks when developing medical devices, and there is a need for further analysis of how this type of risk management should be conducted. The objective of this paper is to collect and summarise experiences from conducting risk management with an organisation developing medical devices. Specific focus is put on the first steps of the risk management process, i.e. risk identification, risk analysis, and risk planning. The research is conducted as action research, with the aim of analysing and giving input to the organisation’s introduction of a software risk management process. First, the method was defined based on already available methods and then used. The defined method focuses on user risks, based on scenarios describing the expected use of the medical device in its target environment. During the use of the method, different stakeholders, including intended users, were involved. Results from the case study show that there are challenging problems in the risk management process with respect to definition of the system boundary and system context, the use of scenarios as input to the risk identification, estimation of detectability during risk analysis, and action proposals during risk planning. It can be concluded that the risk management method has potential to be used in the development organisation, although future research is needed with respect to, for example, context limitation and how to allow for flexible updates of the product. 相似文献

The construction business network is generally seen as conservative and non-innovative, for which a number of reasons have been identified. One of these reasons relates to the special inter-organizational setting that exists within the industry. The starting point of our study was to investigate whether there is any truth in this perceived lack of innovation. One reason for the industry’s bad reputation could be that the way innovation generally is defined and measured is unsuitable for the construction business. Therefore, renewal was used as the central concept of change in our investigation. The second issue concerns factors that either assist or impede renewal, and the ambition was to identify those factors driving, as well as those hindering renewal. In order to identify the degree of renewal, as well as the factors affecting it, we conducted a survey of Swedish construction companies. The resulting picture shows a clear connection between the inter-organizational interfaces within the industry and how renewal takes place. The total renewal activity is on a considerable level with more than 60% having made changes visible from the customer’s point of view. The most active interface is also in relation to customers, while the relationship to suppliers generally is more distant. Finally, the project focus which characterizes the industry affects what type of renewal takes place, and exposes the lack of knowledge transfer between individual projects and actors as an important hindrance to renewal in the construction network. 相似文献

The massive migration flows from rural to urban areas in China, combined with an expected decline in the total population over the next decades, leads to two important challenges for China's housing: the growth of its urban housing stock and the shrinkage of rural housing. The rural and urban housing systems in China were analyzed using a dynamic material flow analysis model for the period 1900–2100 for several scenarios assuming different development paths for population, urbanization, housing demand per capita, and building lifetime. The simulation results indicate that new housing construction is likely to decline for several decades due to the fast growth over the past 30 years and the expected increased longevity of dwellings. Such an oscillation of new construction activity would have significant implications for the construction industry, employment, raw material demand, and greenhouse gas emissions to produce the construction materials. Policy and practical options for mitigating the negative impacts are considered. Les flux migratoires massifs des zones rurales vers les zones urbaines en Chine, conjugués à un déclin prévu de la population totale au cours des prochaines décennies, entraînent deux défis importants pour le logement en Chine : la croissance de son parc de logements urbains et la diminution des logements ruraux. Les systèmes de logements ruraux et urbains en Chine ont été analysés en utilisant un modèle d'analyse dynamique des flux de matériaux sur la période 1900-2100 appliqué à plusieurs scénarios supposant différentes voies de développement concernant la population, l'urbanisation, la demande de logements par habitant et la durée de vie des bâtiments. Les résultats de la simulation indiquent qu'il est probable que la construction de logements neufs diminuera pendant plusieurs décennies en raison de la croissance rapide des 30 dernières années et de l'accroissement prévu de la durée de vie des logements. Une telle oscillation de l'activité de construction de logements neufs aurait d'importantes implications pour l'industrie du bâtiment, l'emploi, la demande en matières premières et les émissions de gaz à effet de serre résultant de la production des matériaux de construction. Les choix politiques et pratiques qui permettraient d'en atténuer les effets négatifs sont envisagés. Although the selective excitatory amino acid transporter subtype 1 (EAAT1) inhibitor UCPH‐101 has become a standard pharmacological tool compound for in vitro and ex vivo studies in the EAAT research field, its inability to penetrate the blood–brain barrier makes it unsuitable for in vivo studies. In the present study, per os (p.o.) administration (40 mg kg?1) of the closely related analogue UCPH‐102 in rats yielded respective plasma and brain concentrations of 10.5 and 6.67 μm after 1 h. Three analogue series were designed and synthesized to improve the bioavailability profile of UCPH‐102, but none displayed substantially improved properties in this respect. In vitro profiling of UCPH‐102 (10 μm ) at 51 central nervous system targets in radioligand binding assays strongly suggests that the compound is completely selective for EAAT1. Finally, in a rodent locomotor model, p.o. administration of UCPH‐102 (20 mg kg?1) did not induce acute effects or any visible changes in behavior. 相似文献

Routine bridge inspections usually consist of visual observations. These inspections are time-consuming and subjective. There is a need to identify new inspection techniques for infrastructure that reduce traffic disturbance, and improve the efficiency and reliability of the acquired data. This study compared the performance of three different imaging technologies for the three-dimensional (3D) geometric modeling of existing structures: terrestrial laser scanning, close-range photogrammetry, and infrared scanning. Each technology was used to assess six existing concrete railway bridges. The technologies were compared in terms of geometric deviations, visualization capabilities, the level of the inspector’s experience, and degree of automation. The results suggest that all methods investigated can be used to create 3D models, however, with different level of completeness. Measurements such as span length, deck widths, etc. can be extracted with good accuracy. Although promising, a full off-site inspection is currently not feasible as some areas of the bridges were difficult to capture mainly due to restricted access and narrow spaces. Measurements based on terrestrial laser scanning were closer to the reality compared to photogrammetry and infrared scanning. The study indicates the no special training is needed for photogrammetry and infrared scanning to generate a 3D geometric model. 相似文献
