We introduce a semantic data model to capture the hierarchical, spatial, temporal, and evolutionary semantics of images in pictorial databases. This model mimics the user's conceptual view of the image content, providing the framework and guidelines for preprocessing to extract image features. Based on the model constructs, a spatial evolutionary query language (SEQL), which provides direct image object manipulation capabilities, is presented. With semantic information captured in the model, spatial evolutionary queries are answered efficiently. Using an object-oriented platform, a prototype medical-image management system was implemented at UCLA to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach. 相似文献

Robotica is a computer aided design package for robotic manipulators developed in the Coordinated Science Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It encapsulates over 30 functions into a Mathematica package allowing efficient symbolic and numeric calculation of kinematic and dynamic equations for multi-degree-of-freedom manipulators. An X-Windows front end that utilizes the interprocess communication features of Mathematica 2.1 has also been created for ease of use. Robotica is a computer-aided design package for robotic nmanipulators developed at the Coordinated Science Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. The package is a collection of function definitions for the Mathematica symbolic mathematics program. Robotica can be used either with an X- Windows graphical user interface (GUI) on a Sun Workstation or as an included function definition file within Mathematica. The primary feature of Robotica is the ability to compute, symbolically or numerically, the kinematic and dynamic equations of arbitrary robot systems utilizing the standard Denevit-Hartenburg (DH) kinematic convention. Robotica also provides the ability to visualize these arbitrary manipulators using the X- Windows graphical interface to the Mathematica graphics routines. Growth hormone (GH) has recently been shown to affect polymorphonuclear neutrophil granulocyte (PMN) function and to be secreted by mononuclear cells, indicating that the hormone may be active in an immunophysiologic network, acting as an endo- or paracrine priming agent. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the chemotactic responsiveness of canine peripheral PMN in a dog with acromegaly, caused by spontaneous, progesterone-induced hypersecretion of GH and, secondary to this, a seven-fold increase in insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I). The chemotactic responsiveness towards zymosan-activated serum (ZAS) and leukotriene B4 (LTB4) was evaluated at a time when the dog suffered from acromegaly and again 57 days after corrective surgery (ovariohysterectomy). The experiments showed that PMN from the patient exhibited enhanced chemotactic migration that appeared to be associated with the hypersomatotropic condition as judged from the reversibility of the phenomenon. The glucose intolerance and elevated serum alkaline phosphatase that were observed in the acromegalic dog were also shown to be reversible following surgery. 相似文献

A multilayer theory has been developed for unidirectional/cross-ply unbalanced laminates subjected to surface shear tractions, using the assumption of plane strain. The analytical solution for the stress field in the laminate is obtained and it is shown that the stresses in each layer are in good agreement with the results of a three-dimensional finite element analysis. Approximate formulae for the analytical stresses are also derived for a laminate subjected to an offset distributed force at one end. The accuracy of this solution is shown by comparison with a three-dimensional finite element analysis. 相似文献

Numerical investigations are carried out to verify the new super element model developed in Reference 1 for non-linear analysis of stiffened box structures. The results presented here are obtained from a variety of examples which are chosen to illustrate the accuracy and convergence of the model in various applications. Transparent epoxy resins modified with liquid chloroprene rubber (LCR), containing in a category of rubber-toughened resin were found. Transparency and toughness characterization of the modified epoxy resins were investigated as a function of LCR content. Epoxy resins modified with 0–10 vol % LCR showed complete phase-separation microstructure. However, these modified resins were transparent, because the refractive index of LCR was compatible with that of the epoxy resin matrix at room temperature. On the other hand, it was observed that above 10 vol % LCR, a certain amount of LCR dissolved into the epoxy matrix. In this case, the glass transition temperature decreased with increasing LCR content. It was also found that the critical stress intensity factor, K
