Rate of unsteady evaporation of a spherical drop with regard to concentration and temperature discontinuities at its surface

Unsteady evaporation and condensation growth of a quiescent spherical drop are studied in the case when the surface temperature and the saturated vapor concentration on the surface of the drop are variable and experience a jump in the Knudsen layer. A general (i.e., valid for any time scale) expression for the rate of change of the radius as a function of time is found. From this expression, first approximations for infinitesimal and large times are derived separately by asymptotically expanding relevant functions. The formulas derived are analyzed and compared with those known from the conventional theories, for which purpose the rate of evaporation of the drop in air is calculated in a wide range of initial conditions.     

Fine-tuning parameters to describe the total charged-current neutrino-nucleon cross section

The total charged-current (CC) (anti)neutrino-nucleon cross section is usually estimated by the sum of contributions from quasielastic scattering (QES), single-pion production through baryon resonances (RES), and deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) with an appropriate scratching of the phase space of the RES and DIS contributions. However, the resulting total cross section is very sensitive to the value of the cutoff in invariant mass of the final hadron system produced in RES and DIS. We examine available experimental data on the QES and total CC cross sections in order to extract the best-fit value for this cutoff. By using the same data set, we attempt to adjust the poorly known values of the axial mass for QES and RES. The text was submitted by the authors in English.     

Linear recurring sequences over Galois rings

Linear recurrences of maximal period over a Galois ring and over a residue class ring modulo p are studied. For any such recurrence, the coordinate sequences (in p-adic and some other expansions) are considered as linear recurring sequences over a finite field. Upper and lower bounds for the ranks (linear complexities) of these coordinate sequences are obtained. Investigation of the spin-glass state in γ-Fe-Ni-Mn alloys

The composition region where there are no long-range ferro- and antiferromagnetic order has been determined in γ-Fe-Ni-Mn alloys. In these alloys strong small-angle magnetic neutron scattering has been obtained. The intensity has an unusual temperature dependence which is discussed in the framework of the critical neutron scattering thermodynamic theory. The ground state of these alloys is identified with the spin-glass state in which there are also regions of both short-range ferro- and antiferromagnetic order.     

Decay kinetics of the triplet and anthrasemiquinone radicals in aqueous organic media

Electron transfer involving triplet molecules of anthraquinone sulfonates has been studied by flash photolysis. It was revealed that semiquinone radicals were formed in one-electron oxidation of carbonate anions. Absorption spectra and the kinetics of decay transients in aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic solutions have been studied.     

Different properties of exciplexes and excited states of CT complexes in the solid phase

The fluorescence, excitation and absorption spectra and fluorescence decay kinetics of charge-transfer (CT) complexes and exciplexes ofheteroaromatic cations and some other electron acceptors were investigated in ethanol at 77 K. Experimental data indicate that the fluorescence state of the exciplex may differ from that of the CT complex.     

Quantum diffusion of muons in bismuth

A muon spin relaxation rate in a super-pure sample of bismuth has been measured. The experimental data and the theory of coherent diffusion in crystalline lattices with shifted levels are compared.

The effective potential of the scalar field in theSU(5) model has extrema with symmetry:SU(5),SU(4)×U(1),SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1),SU(3)×[U(1)]², [SU(2)]²×[U(1)]². In our recent paper it was shown that theSU(4)×U(1) phase as well asSU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) phase were stable at the nonzero temperature in a vast region of parameters. In the present paper it is found that the [SU(2)]²×[U(1)]² symmetric vacuum is unstable and theSU(3)×[U(1)]² symmetric vacuum can be metastable in the certain interval of the temperature. Domains of the three phases:SU(4)×U(1),SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1),SU(3)×[U(1)]²-could co-exist in the early. Universe.
