A theoretical model of the refractive index changes of the TE and TM modes in an electro-absorption modulator (EAM) is deduced. The photon absorption and refractive index changes are analyzed numerically. The influence of pump intensity on the phase difference between the TE and TM modes is studied. To reduce temperature sensitivity of the fibre Bragg grating (FBG) chemical sensor, a simple method is proposed by measuring the peak wavelength difference between an etched FBG and an un-etched one in an optical fibre. Thermal characteristics and chemical sensitivity of the sensor are experimentally investigated. The experimental results indicate that the etched FBG and the rest one have almost the same thermal response, and concentration changes of the surrounding chemical solutions can be detected by measuring the peak wavelength difference between them. The sensor has been used to measure the concentrations of propylene glycol solutions and sugar solutions, and it could detect 0.7% and 0.45% concentration changes for them with an optical spectrum analyser in resolution of 10pm. 相似文献

Code synchronization based on lumped time-delay compensation scheme with a linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating in all-optical analog-to-digital conversion

We propose a novel lumped time-delay compensation scheme for all-optical analog-to-digital conversion based on soliton self-frequency shift and optical interconnection techniques. A linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating is optimally designed and used to compensate for the entire time-delays of the quantized pulses precisely. Simulation results show that the compensated coding pulses are well synchronized with a time difference less than 3.3 ps, which can support a maximum sampling rate of 151.52 GSa/s. The proposed scheme can efficiently reduce the structure complexity and cost of all-optical analog-to-digital conversion compared to the previous schemes with multiple optical time-delay lines. 相似文献

可调谐光纤激光器可广泛应用于光纤通信、光纤传感、激光光谱、精密测量和激光加工等诸多领域。针对目前可调谐激光器在调谐性、灵活性、稳定性和多波长功率均衡性等方面的不足,提出一类新型的基于数字微镜器件(DMD)的多波长宽带可调谐光纤激光器。该激光器利用关键器件DMD作为波长调谐器,掺铒光纤作为激光增益介质,通过巧妙的光学设计,实现仅利用一块DMD芯片独立、灵活、稳定调谐多波长激光输出的目的。该激光器具有3个输出通道,各通道之间独立开关控制,每个通道均可实现波长在1530~1560nm之间的连续可调谐输出,波长调谐精度0.055nm/pixel,边模抑制比大于55dB,激光输出功率最大值为10mW,2h内的中心波长漂移小于0.02nm。 相似文献

A distortion correction method for the elemental images of integral imaging(Ⅱ) by utilizing the directional diffuser is demonstrated. In the traditional Ⅱ, the distortion originating from lens aberration wraps elemental images and degrades the image quality severely. According to the theoretical analysis and experiments, it can be proved that the farther the three-dimensional image is displayed from the lens array, the more serious the distortion is. To analyze the process of eliminating lens distortion, one lens and its corresponding elemental image are separated from the traditional Ⅱ. By introducing the directional diffuser, the aperture stop of the separated optical system changes from the eye's pupil to the lens. In terms of contrast experiments, the distortion of the improved display system is corrected effectively. In the experiment, when the distance between the reconstructed image and lens array is equal to 120 mm, the largest lens distortion is decreased from 46.6% to 3.3%. 相似文献

将3×3光纤耦合器相位解调和数字全息中的双波长相位测量方法相结合,提出了一种适合于相位型光纤传感器并能进行大范围相位测量的相位解卷绕方法。通过利用合成波长的解卷绕相位对单一波长的卷绕相位进行补偿,得到大范围、无差错的相位变化信息。建立了基于1310nm和1550nm的双波长光纤迈克耳孙干涉系统,对压电位移台所产生的大范围振动进行测量,验证了该方法的可行性和有效性。与1310nm单一波长的相位解调结果相比,该方法可使测量的光程差扩大到原来的6.5倍。 相似文献
