Family is the central place of socialization during childhood and adolescence. What are the determining factors of family life that are important for the health of children and adolescents and in which stages of their life do these factors take effect? The question is answered with reference to the general health of children and adolescents as rated by their parents. The analysis is conducted with data from the KiGGS study 2003–2006 which is representative of Germany (n?=?17641, age: 0–17 years). The gender-specific effects of different family factors on good health are analysed in five age groups using binary logistic regression analysis including structural, socioeconomic and origin-related factors of family as well as housing conditions and family cohesion. Bivariate analysis indicates significant effects on general health for almost all included factors (at least in some age groups). Multivariate analysis shows family cohesion to be the most important factor for good health. In boys a bilateral migration background also has an adverse effect on good general health until the beginning of adolescence.  相似文献

Even more than other European countries, Germany must fear a serious future skills shortage and lack of experts. Therefore, increasing the proportion of high school graduates who wish to study at a university is a clear political objective. The aim of this paper is to identify variables that hinder or support the decision to pursue university studies. We used longitudinal data of 23,000 graduates of upper secondary school of the years 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008 to analyze how tuition fees (which are charged only in some of the German federal states), family status, and students?? own cost-benefit analyses impacted their decision in favor or against taking up university studies. Results showed that the subjective costs of higher education were highest for persons of low social economic background, and for women. Also, the introduction of tuition fees in some federal states in the year 2006 lowered the percentage of students who wanted to enter higher education. Contrary to our expectations, however, this effect was observed in all federal states, irrespective of whether they had introduced tuition fees or not. Our results suggest that participation in higher education can be increased by both lowering (social and psychological) costs and raising (social and psychological) benefits of higher education.  相似文献

What happens to study programs for a major in education science in the wake of the Bologna reform? What are the consequences of the transition to Bachelor and Master degree programs for the institutional organization of the discipline in the form of its study programs and thus for the position of the discipline in the university system? This contribution investigates both the structural characteristics and the subject-related orientation of these new training models on the basis of a survey of the current study programs offered in education science major programs. The technical terms used and the module manuals are compared with the ??Core Curriculum Education Science?? proposed by the German Society for Education Studies (DGfE). Despite the limited validity of this investigation, it is clear that the clash of political reorganization of higher education processes with an identity-seeking discipline has drastic consequences for the institutional organization of education science. This is reflected in an increased differentiation of the major study programs within education science, which can affect both the position of the discipline in the academic system as well as the disciplinary self-reproduction.  相似文献

The question concerning criteria and reasons for prohibition of doping in sports addresses a current issue of sport sciences revolving around the concepts of nature and naturalness which has been discussed controversially for some time. Criticism concerning the conceptual incisiveness with which doping is designated as artificial, thus constituting an illegitimate form of enhancing sports performance, has led to the abolishment of a definition of its essence. Doping is currently defined pragmatically, i.e. as a violation against anti-doping regulations. Doping per se is what is prohibited. The fact that doping is defined normatively a priori raises doubts as to the ethical legitimacy of existing doping prohibitions and questions regarding criteria for including certain agents in the list of forbidden substances. Thus, as a symbol for a global halt to enhancement, prohibition of doping in sports and discussions on artificial performance enhancement are gaining importance in the field of biomedical ethics, i.e. in the debate on human enhancement and endeavours to perfect the human being through biotechnology.  相似文献

Reflection on the politics of sport is a scientific area of development. Everybody knows that sport has to do with politics in some way, but nobody seems to be interested to know how this relationship is precisely conditioned and it is left in that“somehow”. But whoever wants to bring politics responsibly into sport has to understand which special object is to be dealt with: which options of political acting approve of this pattern of sense and which exclude it? A well-founded understanding of sport politics extracts its aims from the particular sense of sport acting, its means out of the particular sense of political acting. So the term is reserved for a kind of political acting which gives power to the cultural sport idea for self-confidence, self-unfolding and self-maintaining in the societal space. It becomes a standard for the critical examination of legitimacy or illegitimacy of political acting in the field of sport. Details of this fundamental understanding specified in eight theses present a building block for the draft of a general theory und history of sports politics.  相似文献

Whereas numerous studies have confirmed the objectivity and reliability of the Allgemeine Sportmotorische Test für Kinder” (AST, a general motor fitness and coordination test for children), examinations of its construct validity reveal that: (1) the few available findings fail to confirm the theoretically predicted distinction between the latent variables of condition and coordination, and (2) no studies so far have examined its item homogeneity, even though the test recommends computing a sum score to provide a general estimate of motor fitness. Confirmatory factor analyses show that the two latent variables condition and coordination cannot be extracted from the AST. Models with different latent variables also cannot be confirmed, too. Analyses based on IRT models, in contrast, reveal that one can distinguish between two qualitative classes of persons who are associated with either better running performance combined with lower throwing performance or better throwing performance combined with lower running performance. Nonetheless, it should be noted that class membership does not remain constant over time. In sum, results based on classical and probabilistic test theory negate the ability assumption underlying the AST. For practical assessments of a skill-specific performance, this means that it only seems justifiable to use a sum score for the locomotion items and a sum score for the object manipulation items.  相似文献

Bezogen auf die drei Bezugsprobleme eines funktional differenzierten Erziehungssystems — Selektion, Lehrplan und Profession — werden Beitr?ge von Eduard SPRANGER, Erich WENIGER und Herman NOHL diskutiert. The career choice motivations of potential teachers, their interests and other factors relevant to their choice of career are studied in order to achieve the best possible recruitment of new entrants to the teaching profession. However, the research and findings which are already available in this field are inadequate. The article is the first study which aims to analyse the structure and applicability of the internationally accessible FIT-Choice instrument to detect the relevant factors for teaching as a career choice in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the basis of representative samples (n = 6,601) in order to create a data basis which will enable the previously unconnected research initiatives in German-speaking countries to be combined. In addition, teaching experience is taken into account and used to check how valid the career choice motives stated by the students are. The overall objective is to explore the extent to which measurements of career choice motives and teaching experience and analysis of two areas can be generalised across different institutions and countries and can go beyond the limited significance of the previously available findings, and eventually to formulate generalisable assumptions about the ideas which influence teaching as a career choice, and especially the motivation which leads to this career choice.  相似文献
