A spectral analysis of the diurnal variations in the geomagnetic field horizontal component, observed at Kamchatka and Barrow polar observatory in September–October 1999, has been performed. The complete set of oscillations of thermal tidal atmospheric waves with T = 24, 12, 8, and 4 h has been detected in the variation spectral power (Sq) at Kamchatka, and only the fundamental harmonic with T = 24 h has been distinguished at Barrow. The above periods vary in both directions relative to stable maximums during strong geomagnetic disturbances. The relative spectral intensity at subharmonics also vary toward the fundamental harmonic with a period of 24 h. In the frequency band 0.5–3 h (IGW periods), the maximal intensity in the background spectra is observed at T ~ 2 h and increases by an order of magnitude with increasing geomagnetic activity at both Kamchatka and Barrow. A day before earthquakes, the intensity of this maximum is below the rms background values, and the spectra widen toward the region of periods shorter than 2 h. A similar effect was previously observed in the power spectra of the diurnal variations in the quasistatic electric field and VLF noise, simultaneously measured in September–October 1999. 相似文献

Pyrolysis of asphaltenes from crude oils yields significant amounts of crude oil-like material. Studies of asphaltenes and their pyrolysis products from biodegraded and non-biodegraded oils show that biodegradation does not affect the composition of asphaltene. The overall composition of the oil produced from them on pyrolysis is similar to, yet significantly different from, that of the parent oil. From these compositional differences, it is concluded that asphaltene and its pyrolysis products contain geochemical information which is characteristic, and therefore may shed light on the history of the oil prior to asphaltene formation. 相似文献

A general theory of terrestrial nutation is proposed assuming that the Earth is made up of four envelopes (atmosphere, mantle, fluid core, and solid core) and taking account of all important forces (viscous, electromagnetic, etc.). A theory for the effect produced on the Earth's nutation by viscous forces in the fluid core is developed based on experimental data on the viscosity of molten iron under pressure. Multispectral (MS) and panchromatic (PAN) images contains complementary information. High spatial and spectral resolution is a prerequisite for images to be useful, which can be achieved through image pansharpening. In this paper, we propose a new pansharpening technique which is a combination of nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and sparse representation (SR), called NSCT–SR. NSCT is a shift-invariant version of the contourlet transform which combines nonsubsampled pyramid (NSP) and the directional filter banks. NSP splits input MS and PAN images into low-pass and high-pass sub-bands. Fusion of high-pass sub-bands is done using local energy information while low-pass sub-bands are fused using SR. Finally, fused low-pass and high-pass sub-bands are combined to obtain image with high spatial and high spectral resolution. We have quantitatively compared NSCT–SR with other multiresolution algorithms by calculating spatial and spectral quality parameters. It is observed that spatial quality is improved by 0.93 % (for seaside image) and 1.54 % (for urban image). While spectral quality is improved maximum up to 31.39 and 40.47 %, for respective images. NSCT–SR also compared with other state-of-art algorithms by calculating various performance parameters including quality with no reference. The Gulf of Cádiz area has been extensively surveyed in recent years and several gas-related fluid escape seafloor structures
have been identified. In this study, gravity cores, collected during the ANASTASYA/00 and ANASTASYA/01 cruises, on mud volcanoes,
hemipelagic sediments and dredged material from diapiric structures, have been studied. A comparative mineralogical analysis
by XRD and SEM of samples from different areas has been performed in order to determine whether there is a characteristic
mineralogy related to these fluid escape structures, and also to determine the origin of the mud matrix and constrain the
depth of the parent units. The mineralogical analysis reflects the different origins of the different units described in the
cores: hemipelagic material of the slope, clays that underlie the mud volcanoes and are discharged at the sea bottom surface,
and authigenic and diagenetic minerals possibly involved in the anaerobic oxidation of methane in the mud volcano sediments. 相似文献

The coal seams of Sawang Colliery, East Bokaro Coalfields are bituminous to sub-bituminous in nature and categorized as high
gaseous seams (degree II to degree III level). These seams have the potential for coal bed methane (CBM) and their maturity
increases with increasing depth, as a result of enhanced pressure-temperature conditions in the underground. The vitrinite
maceral group composition of the investigated coal seams ranges from 62.50–83.15%, whereas the inertinite content varies from
14.93–36.81%. The liptinite content varies from 0.66% to 3.09%. The maximum micro-pores are confined within the vitrinite
group of macerals. The coal seams exhibit vitrinite reflectance values (Ro% calculated) from 0.94% (sample CG-97) to 1.21%
(sample CG-119).
Proximate analyses of the investigated coal samples reveal that the moisture content (M%) ranges from 1.28% to 2.98%, whereas, volatile matter (VM%) content is placed in the range of 27.01% to 33.86%. The ash
content (A%) ranges from 10.92% to 30.01%. Fixed carbon (FC%) content varies from 41.53% to 55.93%. Fuel ratio variation shows a restricted
range from 1.53 to 1.97. All the coal samples were found to be strongly caking and forming coke buttons.
The present study is based on the adsorption isotherm experiments carried out under controlled P-T conditions for determination of actual gas adsorption capacity of the coal seams. This analysis shows that the maximum methane
gas adsorbed in the coal sample CG-81 is 17 m3/t (Std. daf), at maximum pressure of 5.92 MPa and experimental temperature of 30°C. The calculated Langmuir regression parameters
PL and VL range from 2.49 to 3.75 MPa and 22.94 to 26.88 m3/t (Std. daf), respectively. 相似文献

A detailed palaeomagnetic and magnetostratigraphic study of the Permian–Triassic Siberian Trap Basalts (STB) in the Noril'sk and Abagalakh regions in northwest Central Siberia is presented. Thermal (TH) and alternating field (AF) demagnetisation techniques have been used and yielded characteristic magnetisation directions. The natural remanent magnetisation of both surface and subsurface samples is characterised by a single component in most cases. Occasionally, a viscous overprint can be identified which is easily removed by TH or AF demagnetisation.The resulting average mean direction after tectonic correction for the 95 flows sampled in outcrops is D=93.7°, I=74.7° with k=19 and α95=3.3°. The corresponding pole position is 56.2°N, 146.0°E.Unoriented samples from four boreholes cores in the same regions have also been studied. They confirm the reversed–normal succession found in outcrops. The fact that only one reversal of the Earth's magnetic field has been recorded in the traps can be taken as evidence for a rather short time span for the major eruptive episode in this region. However, there is evidence elsewhere that the whole volcanic activity associated with the emplacement of the STB was much longer and lasted several million years. 相似文献

90>2s) gamma-ray bursts with measured redshifts z. For a fractal set with dimensionality D, this function behaves asymptotically as f(l) ∼ l
D−1 for small l. Signs of fractal behavior with dimensionality D = 2.2–2.5 show up in all the models considered for the spatial distribution of the gamma-ray bursts. Several spatially distinct
