A true class ‘AB’ fully differential current output stage with very high common mode rejection ratio is presented in this study. The operational principle of this unique structure is discussed, its most important formulas are derived and its outstanding performance is verified by SPICE simulation in TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS, and Level49 technology. Owing to the elaborately arranged components, the proposed circuit demonstrates very high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR), high slew rate, high current drive capability, high output compliance, and very low power consumption while operating at power supply of ±0.9 V. The interesting results such as current drive capability of ±100 μA, high output voltage swing of ±0.8 V, low static power consumption of 21 μW, and very high CMRR of 84.5 dB is achieved utilizing standard CMOS technology. The performance of circuit at the presence of process and voltage variations evaluated through corner case and Monte Carlo analysis. The harmonic distortion is evaluated to investigate the circuit’s linearity. The transient stepwise response analysis is also done to verify the stability of proposed class ‘AB’ FDCOS.  相似文献

The emergence of gigabit local area networks (G-LANs) has spurred a tremendous interest in supporting networked multimedia applications over a LAN. In this paper, we propose a mechanism for dynamically allocating network resources in asynchronous LANs. Presentation of multimedia objects with required play-out quality requires Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees by the underlying networking infrastructure. Existing asynchronous LANs, such as Ethernet, do not support the notion of QoS due to their asynchronous media access protocol. For such networks, we propose a dynamic bandwidth management scheme that uses the concept of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). Significant performance improvement is observed through experimental results. In particular, the transmission rates for multimedia hosts improve significantly with low jitter variations in media streams. We also propose a framework for graceful degradation of play-out quality of multimedia objects in case the LAN's total capacity is not sufficient to meet the overall demand.  相似文献

Biomass is considered carbon neutral, and displacement of fossil fuel-based power by biomass-based power is one means to mitigate greenhouse gases. Large forest areas in British Columbia (BC), Canada, are infested by the mountain pine beetle (MPB). Dead wood from the infestation is expected to vastly exceed the ability of the pulp and lumber industry to utilize it; current estimates are that 200–600 million m3 of wood will remain unharvested over the next 20 years. Regions where the damaged wood is not harvested will experience loss of jobs in the forestry sector, increased risk of forest fire hazard, carbon emissions from burned or decaying wood, and uncertainty about timing of replanting since this usually occurs at harvest. This paper reports the results of a detailed preliminary techno-economic analysis of producing power from MPB killed wood. Power plant size and location are critical factors affecting overall power cost. Overall cost of power rises steeply at sizes below 300 MW net power output. By locating the power plant in an area of high infestation, transportation distances can be minimized. A 300 MW power plant would consume 64 million m3 of wood over a 20-year lifetime, and hence is a significant sink for otherwise unharvestable wood. Cost estimates are based on harvesting of whole dead trees with roadside chipping and transport to a central power plant located in either the Nazko or Quesnel regions of BC. A circulating fluidized bed boiler with a conventional steam cycle is a currently available technology demonstrated at 240 MW in Finland. The estimated power cost is $68 to $74 per MWh, which is competitive with other “green power” values in BC. Given recent values of export power in the Pacific Northwest, a 300 MW MPB power plant is viable with a carbon credit below $15 per tons of CO2.  相似文献

Cooling of alfalfa pellets after being made is one o f the unit operations in the pelleting of alfalfa. Using the thermal properties and drying diffusion coeficient together with other properties reported in refereed journals. a combined heat and mass transfer model was developed for the cooling of alfalfa pellets in deep beds. The model utilized the distributed heat and mass transfer equations to describe the temperature and moisture of the pellets. The distributed model interacts with the cooling air through a convective boundary condition for the temperature and a time-varying exponential surface condition for the moisture. Coupling o f the heat and mass transfer processes was carried out at the surface of the pellet using evaporative surface condition. The model was validated with field experimental data from a double-deck crossflow cooler. The simulated pellet and air temperatures were within 50C of the collected field data while predicted moisture from the model was within 0.3% o f the experimental data.  相似文献

This paper reviews a recent development in the heat and moisture transfer modeling for drying single layes of agricultural grains. A diffusion model with time-varying boundary condition predicts the complex shape of the drying curve well. A conduction model with evaporating boundary condition, when used with the Gamson correlation for convective heat transfer coefficient, accurately predicts experimental grain surface temperature. The new modewls were tested experimentally, drying wheat and barley in a thin-layer dryer useing 40 to 175 c air and the initial moisture ranging from 0.20 to 0.40 (decimal dry basis). It is shown that grain temperatures calculated by the conduction heat equation, when used in conjunction with a probit-type germination loss model, predict germination values different from those predicted by the lump heat equation.  相似文献

Radioiodine (131 I) therapy has been in use for more than 60 y. Several protocols have been suggested and used for prescribing the activity to be administered to the patients for the treatment of hyperthyroidism; application of these protocols may result in an under or over dose of the hyperthyroid patients. The main objective of this study was to carry out quantitative analysis of the factors responsible for possible under or over dosage of the patients. In this regard, a total of 59 patients [15 diffuse goitre (DG) and 44 nodular goitre (NG) cases] were studied. In order to compare the thyroid doses calculated by using different protocols, the dosimetric approach was followed. 131 I uptakes were measured after 24 and 48 h, respectively, by giving 0.5 MBq of 131 I to each patient. Thyroid mass and effective half-life were also calculated for each patient and the variations in the thyroid doses were analysed. According to the results 28 and 54% patients were under dosed and 72 and 46% patients were over dosed with DG and NG, respectively. The protocols, which have not taken into account the thyroid mass, multi pre-therapeutic 131 I uptakes and the effective half-life of 131 I of the individual patient, showed a higher degree of deviation from the required thyroid dose. Besides these parameters, some fundamental factors such as radiosensitivity, previous exposure to thyroid drugs and duration of the disease are recommended to be incorporated, which can certainly affect the clinical out comes.  相似文献

A simple cloud point extraction method followed by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) was developed for simultaneous preconcentration and determination of trace amounts of U(VI), Th(IV), Zr(IV) and Hf(IV) ions in aqueous samples. The metal ions in 50 ml of aqueous solution (containing 0.1 M sodium acetate, pH 6.0) were formed complexes with dibenzoylmethane (DBM). Then, Triton X-114 (0.2%, w/v) was added to the solution. By increasing the temperature of the solution up to 50 degrees C, a phase separation occurred. After centrifugation at 4000 rpm for 6 min, the surfactant-rich phase (sediment phase) was diluted with 1.0 ml of 20:80 (v/v) of methanol/1 M HNO(3). The metal ions were then determined using ICP-OES. Finally, the main factors affecting the cloud point extraction were evaluated and optimized. Under optimized conditions, enhancement factors in the range of 37.0-43.6 were obtained. The calibration graphs were linear in the range of 0.5-1500 microg l(-1) for Th and Zr, 0.5-500 microg l(-1) for Hf and 2.5-1240 microg l(-1) for U with correlation coefficients (r(2)) better than 0.9926. The detection limits were between 0.1 and 1.0 microg l(-1) and the R.S.D. values for seven replicates were lower than 6.1%.  相似文献

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the fatigue limit of the electric discharge machined aluminum alloy 2024 T6. Machining was performed at 3, 6, 9, and 12 A discharge current values while all other parameters were kept constant. The fatigue tests were performed on a four-point rotating bending machine at the frequency of 50 Hz and at ambient temperature. Fatigue limits at 107 cycles were determined using staircase (up-and-down) method and the obtained data was analyzed statistically. For reference purposes, fatigue strength of the conventionally turned specimens was also found by the same technique. The EDM surface is characterized by its morphology, roughness, hardness, and thickness of the resolidified layer. The effects of discharge current values on these surface characterizing parameters and subsequent influence on fatigue limit have been discussed.  相似文献
