The present investigation applies laser Raman spectroscopy under in situ conditions to obtain insights on the effect of the temperature on the molecular structure of the bulk phosphotungstic Wells-Dawson heteropoly-acid H6P2W18O62·xH2O (HPA). The in situ temperature-programmed studies followed the evolution of phosphotungstic Wells-Dawson and Keggin heteropoly-acids along with tungsten trioxide under controlled atmosphere and temperature. The spectroscopic investigation of the Wells-Dawson HPA demonstrated that in situ Raman spectroscopy is a suitable technique to follow the effect of a gradual dehydration on the secondary structure of such a complex structure. Moreover, the absence of the signals belonging either to the Keggin or WO3 phases provides further evidence that the phosphotungstic heteropolyanion does not decomposes towards those materials at temperatures below 600 °C.  相似文献

For the development of fruit leathers, a formulation containing rose hip pulp, sucrose and citric acid was used as initial material for the drying process. Three dehydration techniques were tested: forced hot air, infrared and vacuum, all carried out at 60 and 70 °C. All methods led to flexible, translucent fruit leathers at both temperatures. Colour and water activity were not affected by the dehydration method nor by the temperatures tested. Nutritional parameters such as antioxidant capacity (TEAC) and content of phenolic substances were measured. The best retention was achieved with vacuum drying at 60 °C being of 57.5% and 25.1%, respectively. ESEM observations were conducted to assess the effect of drying methods and conditions on microstructure of leathers. Various extents of sucrose crystallisation were inferred from surface images. Cross‐sectional micrographs showed that the size of pores was affected by the drying technique but not by temperature in the range studied.  相似文献

The present study was aimed at evaluating the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol extract from Vernonia condensata leaves in animal models, in order to afford a better understanding of these properties. The extract reduced the number of abdominal contortions at doses of 100 (51.00 ± 3.00), 200 (42.00 ± 2.98) and 400 mg/kg (39.00 ± 4.00). In formalin tests, a significant reduction in the licking time (p < 0.01) was observed in the first phase by 25.14 (200 mg/kg = 51.50 ± 4.44) and 31.15% (400 mg/kg = 48.00 ± 4.37). The doses of 100 (43.37 ± 5.15), 200 (34.62 ± 4.16) and 400 mg/kg (28.37 ± 3.98) inhibited (p < 0.001) the second phase. After 60 and 90 min of treatment, a dose of 400 mg/kg (10.13 ± 0.39 and 11.14 ± 1.33, respectively) increased the latency time. Doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg potentiated the sleeping time induced by diazepam, pentobarbital and meprobamate. The extracts (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) showed anti-inflammatory effects by a decrease in paw edema. The extracts also reduced the exudate volume at the doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg. The leukocyte migration had significant effect (p < 0.001) at doses of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg. The completion of additional experiments in the investigation of the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities of V. condensata allowed a better understanding of the central and peripheral mechanisms involved.  相似文献

Ferulic acid (FA) and its derivatives (FADs) are known for a variety of biological activities, such as photo-protective agent, antioxidant, antiatherogenic and antiplasmodial activities. During structural definition of a FAD isolated from Croton pullei, the possibility of a heterologous series made this definition difficult. In this regard, computational simulations were performed using theoretical calculations at DFT level to predict Infrared (IR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data. The IR and NMR (13)C and (1)H data were compared with the theoretical calculations performed for three structural possibilities of a heterologous series. The theoretical results were compared with the experimental data through linear regression in order to define the most probable structure and showed satisfactory values.  相似文献

Cherimoya is a tropical and subtropical native exotic fruit which has become an important crop due to its tasty flavor, high pulp content, nutritional value and potential use in folk medicine.In this study the pulp of ripe fruits were extracted using three organic solvents (ethanol, methanol and dimethyl formammide) and analyzed for the total phenols, antioxidants power and cytoprotective activity on lymphocyte tert-butyl hydroperoxide treated. Also, potential antiperoxidative activity of each extract has been performed. Organic extracts from cherimoya pulp had powerful antioxidant and ferric reducing power activities and, among the extracts, the dimethyl formammide one showed the highest scavenging activity towards DPPH, ABTS+, O2 radical and FRAP assay, while the ethanol one showed the highest activity against lipid peroxidation induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide. Extract protective activities were also evaluated in isolated human peripheral blood lymphocytes exposed to 250 ??M tert-butyl hydroperoxide. The results showed that all the extracts could significantly enhance cell survival and clearly decrease the release of lactate dehydrogenase, with data almost superimposable for all the tested samples. Moreover RP-HPLC-DAD-ITMS analysis reveals the presence of flavanols and procyanidins (dimers and trimers). These results highlight cherimoya extracts' strong antioxidant properties, remarkable decrease of lipid peroxidation and cytoprotective effects against strong oxidant, supporting their suitable employment as bioactive elements in cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food processing industries.  相似文献

We report the first use of redox nanoparticles of cerium oxide as colorimetric probes in bioanalysis. The method is based on changes in the physicochemical properties of ceria nanoparticles, used here as chromogenic indicators, in response to the analyte. We show that these particles can be fully integrated in a paper-based bioassay. To construct the sensor, ceria nanoparticles and glucose oxidase were coimmobilized onto filter paper using a silanization procedure. In the presence of glucose, the enzymatically generated hydrogen peroxide induces a visual color change of the ceria nanoparticles immobilized onto the bioactive sensing paper, from white-yellowish to dark orange, in a concentration-dependent manner. A detection limit of 0.5 mM glucose with a linear range up to 100 mM and a reproducibility of 4.3% for n = 11 ceria paper strips were obtained. The assay is fully reversible and can be reused for at least 10 consecutive measurement cycles, without significant loss of activity. Another unique feature is that it does not require external reagents, as all the sensing components are fixed onto the paper platform. The bioassay can be stored for at least 79 days at room temperature while maintaining the same analytical performance. An example of analytical application was demonstrated for the detection of glucose in human serum. The results demonstrate the potential of this type of nanoparticles as novel components in the development of robust colorimetric bioassays.  相似文献

Disinfection of shredded lettuce by washing is an essential operation to eliminate foreign matter and cellular fluids produced by cutting, and to reduce the initial microbial contamination. The response surface methodology was used to evaluate the effect of initial chlorine concentration (50–150 ppm), water‐to‐produce ratio (20–50 L kg?1) and time (2–8 min) on the depletion of total and available chlorine and also the microbial count reduction on shredded lettuce. The predictive models obtained, validated through additional confirmatory experiments, were shown to be adequate and could be used as a way of improving the operation.  相似文献

The objective of this research was to evaluate the physical properties of different types of wax/oil systems. Olive (OO), corn (CO), soybean (SBO), sunflower (SFO), safflower (SAFO), and canola (CAO) oils were mixed with sunflower oil wax (SFOW), paraffin wax (PW), and beeswax (BW) at different concentrations (1% to 10%). Results from this study show that the physical properties of wax/oil systems is affected not only by the concentration and type of wax used, but also by the type of oil used. In general, wax/oil systems formulated with SFOW generated crystalline networks with high enthalpies (1 to 22 J/g) and high G ′ values (2 to 6 × 106 Pa) compared with the values obtained for BW and PW. SFOW crystalline networks were characterized by needle‐like crystals independently of the wax concentrations and type of oil used. BW crystalline networks, however, were characterized by different crystal morphologies (needle‐like or spherulites) depending on the wax concentration and type of oil used. PW samples were characterized by a crystalline network formed by needle‐ and platelet‐like crystals. Enthalpy values of BW and PW samples were similar (0.3 to 20 J/g), but BW samples resulted in significantly higher (P < 0.05) G ′ values in the 5% and 10% samples with values of 3.9 × 106 and 6.1 × 105 Pa for 10% BW and PW, respectively.  相似文献

In this study, two strains of Staphylococcus xylosus isolated from traditional fermented sausages of Vallo di Diano (Southern Italy) were used in combination with an acidifying strain of Lactobacillus curvatus as starter culture for the production of fermented sausages. Two starter formulation were developed combining the proteolytic but not lipolytic (prt(+), lip(-)) S. xylosus CVS11 with the L. curvatus AVL3 (starter S1) and the S. xylosus FVS21 (prt(-), lip(+)) with the same strain of L. curvatus (starter S2). Proteolysis and lipolysis were observed during ripening by the increase in total free amino acids (FAA) and free fatty acids (FFA), respectively. Such activities were observed in both started and non started sausages (control). Moreover, the proteolytic and lipolytic activities were detected in products started by both formulations irrespective of the presence of such activities in the strains used. Therefore, it was not possible to conclude whether the effect of proteolysis and lipolysis during ripening of the started fermented sausages was due to the activity of the starter cultures or to the action of meat endogenous enzymes.  相似文献

The use of ionic liquids for CO2 capture and natural gas sweetening is being object of intense research. Within the enormous group of existing ionic liquids, those based on conjugate bases of carboxylic acids seem to be particularly promising. This work addresses the study of the high pressure CO2 solubility (up to 80 MPa) in two protic ionic liquids, N-methyl-2-hydroxyethylammonium formate and N-methyl-2-hydroxyethylammonium acetate, in a wide range of temperatures (293-353 K). A thermodynamic model based on the Peng-Robinson equation of state with the Wong-Sandler mixing rule, using the NRTL model for the activity coefficients, was here adopted to describe and evaluate the thermodynamic consistency of the experimental data. Furthermore, the study of a ternary mixture of CO2 + CH4 + N-methyl-2-hydroxyethylammonium acetate was investigated showing a high selectivity from the IL towards these solutes.  相似文献
