Control of microstructure in the Al2O3/LaAl11O18 system was performed. Elongated alumina grains were formed by doping with small addition of silica, and 20 vol% lanthana- luminate was formed in situ by the reaction of LaAlO3- A12O3 in an alumina matrix. Strengths of over 600 MPa and a high fracture toughness (6 MPa.m1/2) were achieved in the material with both elongated A12O3 grains and LaAl11O18 platelets. Generally antagonistic properties such as strength and fracture toughness have been made compatible in the same ceramic system.  相似文献

The synthesis, structural characterization, photo and electroluminescence, thermal and electrochemical properties of a new fluorinated fluorene-containing copolymer are described. The copolymer is formed by alternating mers of [2,3,5,6 tetrafluoro-1,4 phenylene] and [9,9′-dihexyl-2,7 fluorene] and emits blue light with low turn on voltages. The EL performance of the fluorinated copolymer was superior to those of the non-fluorinated analog copolymer and of the corresponding poly(9,9′dihexyl-2,7 polyfluorene) homopolymer.  相似文献

In previous papers it was shown that solutions of Weyl equation that are eigenstates of the parity operator describe a coupled pair of a monopole anti-monopole system. These results suggest to seek a solution of the Maxwell equation $\partial F^\infty = - g\mathcal{J}$ with a current $\mathcal{J}$ as a source and such that the Lorentz force on the current is null. We first identify a solution where $J_m = - \gamma ^5 \mathcal{J}$ is a spacelike field. More surprisingly we find that there exists a solution F of the free Maxwell ? F = 0 that is equivalent to the inhomogeneous equation for F . Once this result is proved, it suggests by itself to seek more general (subluminal and even superluminal) solutions $\mathfrak{F}$ of the free Maxwell equation equivalent to an inhomogeneous Maxwell equation for a field $\mathfrak{F}_0$ with a current term as a source which may be a timelike or spacelike field. We exhibit one such subluminal solution, for which the Dirac-Hestenes spinor field ψ associated with the electromagnetic field $\mathfrak{F}_0$ satisfies a Dirac-like equation for a bradyonic neutrino under the ansatz that the current is $ce^{\lambda \gamma ^5 } g\psi \gamma ^0 \tilde \psi$ with g the quantum of magnetic charge and λ a constant to be determined in such a way that the auto-force is zero. Together with Dirac’s quantization condition this gives a quantized mass spectrum (Eq. (46)) for neutrinos, with masses of the different flavor neutrinos being of the same order of magnitude (Eq. Small amounts of Li2O result in sintering in the AIN-Y2O3-CaO and AIN-CaO systems at firing temperatures <1600°C. The effect is ascribed to reduction of the liquidus temperature. Furthermore, Li2O is removed by volatization at temperatures from 1300° to 1600°C, and its content decreases several ppm from the initial 0.3 wt%. Li2O-doped AIN specimens containing Y2O3 and CaO additives are well densified by firing at 1600°C for 6 h, and their thermal conductivity is 135 W.m−1.K−1.The effect of Li2O addition on sintering and thermal conductivity also is discussed through thermo-dynamic considerations.  相似文献

The adsorption of cobalt phthalocyanine dye onto activated carbon in a continuous stirred tank adsorber was studied. The variables investigated were: adsorbent mass, adsorbent particle size and fluid flowrate. Several models based on film, pore and surface diffusion were constructed and fitted to the experimental data. Experimental results showed: (i) the increasing importance of the film mass transfer resistance for increasing adsorbent loads; (ii) the increasing importance of the surface diffusion mechanism for increasing adsorbent loads; and (iii) the better discrimination among different models for higher adsorbent loads and lower flowrate.  相似文献

To investigate species-specific decomposition rates of litter from native (Quercus faginea) and introduced (Eucalyptus globulus) tree species in Portugal, we monitored changes in the phenolic signature of leaf litter during decomposition as mediated by an aquatic, Proasellus coxalis (Isopoda: Asellota), and two terrestrial, Porcellio dispar and Eluma caelatum (Isopoda: Oniscidea), detritivores. Although the litter of Eucalyptus and Quercus did not differ in overall protein precipitation capacity, we detected differences in terms of contents of particular phenolic compounds and phenol oxidation products. Accordingly, we observed food-specific consumption rates in Proasellus, but not in the terrestrial isopods. Proasellus digested Eucalyptus at significantly higher rates than Quercus, whereas the opposite was the case for Eluma, and Porcellio digested both litter types equally well. Despite slight differences in detail, effects of Proasellus on changes in the signature of litter phenolics were similar for both litter types, whereas terrestrial isopods—Porcellio and Eluma, although they differed from each other—digestively degraded phenolic compounds in Eucalyptus and Quercus litter, respectively, in different ways. Overall, however, degradation of litter phenolics was similarly effective on both litter types. From these data, we conclude that decomposition of Eucalyptus litter does not proceed more slowly than of litter from native Portuguese trees.  相似文献

For over a hundred years shifting cultivation with slash-and-burn land preparation has been the predominant type of land use by smallholders in the Bragantina region of the Brazilian Eastern Amazon. This study contrasts the nutrient balance of slash-and-burn agriculture with a fire-free cultivation. Therefore, one half of a 3.5-year-old (28.7 t DM ha–1) and a 7-year-old woody fallow vegetation (46.5 t DM ha–1) was burnt and the other half mulched, leaving the biomass as a surface residue. Subsequently, a sequence of maize, beans and cassava was cropped for 1.5 year. Burning the 3.5- and 7-year-old fallow removed 97 and 94% of the C, 98 and 96% of the N, 90 and 63% of the P-stocks, and between 45 and 70% of the cations K, Mg and Ca of the aboveground biomass by volatilization or ash-particle transfer. These losses were avoided with the slash-and-mulch land preparation. Mulching did not increase the losses of nutrients by leaching, despite the high amount of rapidly decomposing surface mulch. Also the length of preceding fallow had no significant influence on leaching losses. At a depth of 3 m, leached nutrients were quantitatively negligible in both treatments. Comparing the nutrient fluxes at soil depths of 0.9 m, 1.8 m and 3 m, the amounts of all mobile nutrients, and also of chloride and sodium were markedly reduced during percolation and must have been retained. It is likely that nutrient retention in the subsoil layer is only temporary, emphasizing the need for a rapid re-establishment of the naturally deep-rooting secondary vegetation after abandonment of sites to enable uptake of these nutrients. The overall nutrient balance was highly negative for slash-and-burn. 291 and 403 kg N ha–1, 21 and 18 kg P ha–1, and 70 and 132 kg K ha–1 were removed from the burnt plots with a preceding fallow of 3.5 and 7 years, respectively. A reduced fallow period (3.5 years), which is a common trend in the region, resulted in a higher mean annual rate of nutrient loss averaged over the duration of the cycle than a fallow period of 7 years. Eliminating the burning losses by mulching brought the agricultural system back to an equilibrated or even slightly positive nutrient balance, even after a reduced fallow period. Thus, slash-and-mulch is a viable alternative to maintain agricultural productivity and ecosystem functioning.  相似文献

Summary In this article, cellulose acetate produced through the homogeneous acetylation of sugar cane bagasse cellulose was used to produce membranes, using poly(ethyleneglycol) 600 (PEG 600) as an admixture. The membranes were characterized using water flux measurements (Payne’s cup), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and neutral red uptake (cytotoxicity). The results showed that PEG 600 acts as a crystallinity inductor and/or pore former in the cellulose acetate matrix. The induction of crystallinity is important for this system since it had not been reported on the literature yet. The results also demonstrated that the studied membranes present a nontoxic behavior.  相似文献

Processing Strategy for Producing Highly Anisotropic Silicon Nitride   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Silicon nitride with a preferred orientation of large elongated grains was obtained by tape casting of raw powder slurry seeded with rodlike β-Si3N4 particles, followed by a gas pressure sintering under 1 MPa nitrogen pressure. The large elongated grains developed from seeds lay in planes parallel to the casting direction in a two-dimensional distribution. Increased fracture toughness (11.1 MPa·m1/2) and bending strength (1100 MPa) were achieved in the direction perpendicular to the grains alignment compared to specimens with a random distribution of elongated grains. Morover, the specimens exhibited a high Weibull modulus of 46 due to the uniform distribution of large grains.  相似文献
